Good Morning All,
I am just getting ready to leave Barn 55 at Hollywood Park and go to the plane. I can’t thank everyone enough for the kindness, generosity and love you have all shown me during my racing career.
We have had a terrific ride together…20 fabulous races over a 3 1/2 year span. I have been able to travel and visit with so many wonderful people. I have made so many wonderful friends.
Last night I spent some time just thinking about how GREAT it has been. I looked outside and saw the wonderful area I have grazed on for years. I have shared it with so many loving friends: After Market, Life is Sweet, Tiago, Giacomo, Zardana and Harmonious to name a few. It has been a blast!
Yesterday’s ceremony at Hollywood Park was so special. So many of my dear fans came to greet me. I had fun looking at everyone in the paddock, up on the stairs, and in the balcony. Then walking to the track for the last time…was a bit emotional…for me. I knew I wasn’t running…as all of my normal pre-race stuff was not happening…and my dear Mario…was not wearing a NUMBER. (That was a big clue.) I paraded and went to the Winners’ Circle…even did an encore for my 2 presentations from the Dodgers and the San Pedro Winners’ League. It was special!
John is looking at me now. It is time to bundle up (I’m going to heavy coat weather….good thing I have a great wardrobe)…and get on the van.
My 2 dear friends are in the picture in this post…Dottie and Sophie enjoying the night on my ‘grazing grass’.
I will miss everyone…HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!
Again…THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU…for EVERYTHING!
I will keep in touch! I would not miss visiting with all of you for anything.
Blessings to all!
With love,
Hugs~

Dear Sweet Z, and her people,
I finally got a chance to see you last night. You are more amazing, and breathtaking than I had even imagined! I am so sorry that you have to go through such a rough transition. I wish you and your people could stay together forever. This morning, knowing what its like to part with a beloved horse, my heart ached for everyone involved with, and worked with you on a daily basis.
Thank you all for the most incredible ride that you have taken me and my children on. Watching and rooting for Z had become a family event whenever Queen Z took to the track. And we grew to love you all and hold you in our prayers. And just know dear Queen Z, that if anyone in Kentucky gives you any grief, you can contact me and Ill take of them for you ;)
XOXO peppermints and sugar cubes.

I hope Z took her computer as well? We need are updates, we are so missing you. I hope your new stall is just as wonderful and that your staying warm. Looks like two poss. suiters might be awating you. Still hope the first will be A.P. but no matter what your baby that will come to be will be wonderful. I’m so glad many came out to see you at Keenland, now everyone there will get to know what we out here know just how wonderful you are. I wish I could have given Ann a hug it looks as though it is hard for her as well to let go. Warm hugs Z hope for those updates to keep coming.

I traveled all the way from NYC on the week-end to see you at Barn 55 and watch the ceremonies at Hollywood Park on Sunday. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so glad I was lucky enough to experience the phenom that is Zenyatta. I met your team (everyone was so gracioyus) and Steve Willard was nice enough to snap a photo of me with you. There should be more trainers and owners like the Mosses and John. I have the utmost respect for how they campaigned you and protected you at the same time.

I think Zen has her iPad, but I’m not sure she has a Wi-Fi “hot spot” in the fields of Kentucky. grins :)
Dottie is just busy with Zenny trying to find the right words to use to make us all happy about her new home. They are having “memmories time” and settling in and getting cought up with old friends before getting back to us on how things are going.

Dottie, John, Mario, Carmen, Steve…how are all you feeling today?
Why do they welcome home in Kentucky, when home is where U are!! Even being in TX, I want her in CA. Let me know how you are! Again, thank all of you for all you have done for the Queen’s fans. Mario, you look so serious when you are walking with Ms Zenyatta, I cannot imagine how you feel today. Lisa g

No post today but didn’t expect one. We are all waiting to hear how it went for you. Take care sweet lady, rest, relax, enjoy. We’ll be here everyday. Love you

Hey, folks: check out today’s Daily Racing Form, the article about A being in KY now. There’s a paragraph in there about Z enjoying her new stall and being fascinated with the weather, watching it out of her stall window. It said her coat is short and slick and they have to give her a few weeks to start growing a winter coat. Right on the money!
Sharon Call
Sory about that – meant Z being in KY now.

Thank you team Zenyatta for all you do to share this wonderful horse with us! I hope the Lane’s End folks will realize how truly important she is to so many. Glad that she is not alone and that her folks are there to help her settle in. Please do post whatever you can. So many of us feel a strong connection to Zenyatta . I would hug you all if i could but i will say I pray for her and for yall How hard this change must be, take care , Love you Big Girl. Kisses

To all fans…has anyone heard any of today’s updates on how Zenyatta is doing, other than the DRF? Thanks much
Sue
I PRAY that SOMEONE will put my mind at ease…from Zenyatta going from THE RACING QUEEN….to a broodmare!!! That does not sit right with me!! I understand motherhood, but Lanes End sounds more like an upscale doggie mill, where our SWEET, BEAUTIFUL girl will be constantly bred, but unable to ‘raise’ her children Who wants to , literally’, just keep giving birth..I doubt there is a female alive who would choose THAT as career move!
Now, if the Mosses & John have every intention of training the little offspring, with Z looking on & giving her own training tidbits…that would be THRILLING & my mind would be put to rest. But the term ‘broodmare’ does not imply the latter will happen. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN…CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW??? Thank you Sue

I’ve looked in DRF, NRTA, Google, Huffington Post and DRF is the only thing I could find. If anyone else has found something from today about how Z is doing today, I’d love to know which one it is.

Zenyatta will be remembered and revered for she has brought to racing the joy and interest of unfathomed numbers of spectators that forgot or never knew what the thrill and excitement of racing can hold for them. Man of War, Seabiscuit, Secretariat, and Now Zenyatta. Her story is the most impressive.
Sharon Call
Sue, I agree with you. The references I’ve seen to Z now “residing” at Lane’s End as a broodmare does not give me a warm, fuzzy feeling at all. But, it really doesn’t matter what her fans think or feel. This is all in the hands of her owners and has been all along. For this reason, I’ve never been particularly impressed with the “sadness” expressed by her owners since it was their decision to send her there and they are the only ones who can change that circumstance. Seems like “crocodile tears” to me. I’ve not heard anything from them to the contrary. The people I feel are sincere are the Sheriffs and the rest of the Z team, Mario, Carmen, Steve, etc., and of course the fans and followers of this magnificent mare. It is our lot to just follow along with the information that we are given and hope that at least half of it is true. Let’s just hope that the Moss’s don’t sell her to someone in Japan. We know what happens to horses that wind up there – absolutely nothing good.

Oh Zenyatta, I wish you all the best! I flew out from Minnesota to be able to finally see you in person, you fabulous horse. When you finally walked away & they played “Thanks for the Memories”, I couldn’t hold back the tears. What a wonderful farewell ceremony. Thanks for being your splendid self, you are a reminder of why we all love horses in the first place!
Sue
Thanks Sharon for ur reply to me. I just never understood why she could not have been bred here”’let the stallions come to the Queen ( if she were min). And, IF she were mine, I could NEVER part with her…no ” business as usual” when you have a one in a trillion; gift from GOD HIMSELF !! Sue

Was glad to see all the warmth sent to Z on that cold Kentucky night. Thanks for the info on “The Twelveth of Never” it was wonderful. How about one of you talented geeks using Stings’s new song “Every Move You Make” using Zenyatta’s new life? I was hoping Zen would have been blanketed last night when she paraded at Keeneland, too much of a temperture change going from the 70’s to the teens with a wind chill. THANKS AGAIN TO TEAM Z FOR LETTING US SHARE THIS NATIONAL TREASURE.

Sweet Z I was able to make a poster from one of the many pics I took of you this weekend. John and Mario are with you and you have your head down grazing under your tree.
Thank you sweet Z for standing still and letting that picture be all in focus. I will be putting up on my new Z wall this evening.

Oh, Zenyatta I thought of you all day long and all last night, I would wake up and think of you.. I hope it is not too cold for you and that you are happy and busy, I wonder if you feel like your family is leaving you or are you just being your positive self and thinking of all the new things you are going to be doing? I hope Dottie will send us some information soon… I miss you, my air in California is not as nice without you and guess what you are only 2160 miles away… that is a lot more than 45 minutes.. I will be traveling to Kentucky to see you my gorgeous friend. I love you.
Richard Cope
So glad to read that you have arrived safely in Kentucky. I can’t wait to see you in person soon. I hope that when the fans come to see you at Lane’s End they will have the chance to interact with you as opposed to just seeing you at a distance in a field. We sure will miss seeing you run but boy am I happy to see that you are happy and healthy.
Vickie
Just to let you know = we are thinking about you and hope all is well! LOve you Z!
