Hello,
Yesterday I shared my HORSE OF THE YEAR trophy with YOU!
In 2010, the Eclipse Awards honored me with 3 different Awards: Horse of the Year, Champion Older Female, and the Special Eclipse Award for the contribution MY TEAM and I have made to the Industry! I am so fortunate!
At this time, ALL 3 of MY 2010 TROPHIES have arrived. My owners have them safely in their possession. John is TOO CUTE! He arranged them in this setting to get this photo to share with YOU!
Dottie was commenting to Ann and Jerry the other day that they now have 5 FABULOUS ECLIPSE AWARDS….WITH LOVE FROM ME. Literally, they could have the 5 Awards running in a race of their own on their fireplace mantle. TOO CUTE!
The GOLDEN ECLIPSE TROPHY is definitely one that brings tears to my eyes! I truly worked hard to earn all of them…but this one means so, so very much! My team and I not only worked hard…but so did all of YOU! To me, it truly means WE DID IT!
I know I have said this many times…but having seen these awards now, I must say it again. THANK YOU for all of your support, love, encouragement, and cheers! I could not have earned these honors without ALL OF YOU! I hope you enjoy sharing them with us in these photos…and know in your heart that YOU played a very special part along with MY TEAM and I in achieving these honors!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Congratulations – no one deserves these awards more than you. And it was a joy cheering you on – though my cat Loki wasn’t too happy with the scream I let out when they announced your HORSE OF THE YEAR award. Definitely the loudest he has had to suffer!

Wow, two posts in one day. Every girl needs a few nice knicknacks. :-)

Thank you for sharing the photo of those beautiful Eclipse awards! That is indeed a stunning arrangement put together by John Shirreffs to show them off. Team Zenyatta and our Queen have earned these wonderful trophies for so many things on so many different levels and along the way, have won our hearts. My heart is happy each time I visit this site and read news about Zenyatta. Thank you all for all that you do.
Nina Kaiser
Zenyatta, you’re far too classy to say it yourself so I’ll say that many of us think that you should have 2 Horse of The Year trophies…!

You make me smile – and give me bright spots in days have been so dark and grey. I raise Morgan horses – but I love you for the incredible athlete with the biggest heart and great character ever seen .. I’m grateful to your owners for sharing you with us now that you are living at home and not at the track .. Happy Mothers Day coming up Sunday! With love and hugs back to you – a scratch in your favorite spot and carrots and apples and mints !!

We are the fortunate ones, Zenny! To have the honor of witnessing your fabulous career, and the further honor of “being part of” your post-racing career is a dream come true. Thanks to you and your team, as always, for sharing with us so generously and affectionately. They could not make enough trophies to honor you and yours!
Noelle Labowicz
She deserved every one of them. I cannot tell you how I cried when she was named Horse of the Year! I love you, I love you, I love you! You make my day brighter!

You and your team deserve every one of these honors and more! All the right things were done to let you be the best you can be, and, my gosh, Zenny, you are the best! I have to tell you that I usually see you online (anytime, anywhere), but seeing you on the big screen (television) the other night on 60 Minutes, probably the first time on TV for me, took my breath away–again! Just like the couple of times I was able to see you back @ Barn 55 – unbelievable! You are a magnificent lady…enjoy your company this weekend! Love you much!

Zenny, you did all the hard work and so did your Team. It was your fans’ pleasure to let the Racing World know how special everyone thinks you are.
Thank you, dear Zenny and Dottie, for all the work of keeping up your Diary. I talk about you all the time like a Grandmother brags about her Grandkids. :)
Brenda
Beautiful Zenny, as Dottie has so eloquently said, “They are truly the diamond exclamation point on your your career.” Thanks for sharing them with us all.
Love YOU and Team Zenyatta (with extra special thanks to Dottie for typing your diary entries!)

@Sharon Call–Don’t you just LOVE turner Classic Movies?? Love minding movies I haven’t seen since I was a little girl!!
Night before last they had several racing movies on-caught part of one in b/w about Seabiscuit and then, after falling asleep for awhile( I sleep with my TV on!) woke up a bit to catch the middle of another racing movie that later got all mixed up in one of my dreams. Horsey dreams are always the best!!
Did you ever see a movie called “Gallant Bess”,about a horse found on an island by a seabee in WW2? It is one of my all time favorites!!Marshall Thompson starred in it–(I can hear all the young posters here saying “Marshall who?”).
Reminiscent of the “War Horse” story ,playing on Broadway now and soon to be a Speilberg movie.
@Zazu–Go Girl,Go!! Hooves crossed for a safe and rewarding trip!!

OOps-I meant –finding!

For those of you who are not aware, the VERSUS TV network is offering Derby programming all this week. Yesterday they showed some classic Kentucky Derby races with Smarty Jones and today was Barbero. Tomorrow (Friday) at 4:00 p.m. EST they will air another classic race and at 5:00 they will show the Kentucky Oaks race live. They mentioned that the Kentucky Oaks race is the second most attended racing event next to the Derby. They are expecting 150,000 people. Zazu has already been mentioned as a favorite! This is so exciting as I am seeing so many faces and names that would not have meant anything to me a year ago. Saw John, Dottie and Mike. Kentucky Derby coverage begins at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Hope most of you get VERSUS so check your local listings! THANK YOU ZENYATTA!!!

Dearest Sweet “Z”,
You are so fabulous! You are welcome for the support, encouragement and cheers! Just know that some of us could not have fallen so deeply in love with horse-racing had it not been for Y.O.U.!!! Enjoy all of your well earned rewards, of rest, relaxation, treats, hugs, kisses, and rolls in the mud or snow if your big heart desires.
…………….
You said it for all! Thanks Nina Kaiser :) and blessings to you for your beautiful “Bronzatta.”

Wow!! You won’t believe what just happened to me at work!!! (I work at the Customer Service desk at a marvelous 3rd generation family-owned grocery store–still have home deliveries(for which I shop) and charge accounts)–anyway, this lovely lady came up needing one of our store discount cards. When she gave her address as Lexington KY,I,of course, had to mention how much I loved it there and that I had just been posting on Zenyatta’s website. I told her how much I loved the website, and YOU,and she told me howuch she loved the video of your first free moments at Lane’s End. I told her how I loved Dottie’s writing for you and she said “you’ll have to check out our website” and gave me her card.
You’ll never guess who it was—-Patricia Whitcraft, from Spendthrift Farm!!!!! Talk about a small world–here she is in beautiful Sun Valley,Idaho–all the way from Lexington!! And,I get to meet her!!! Like I said before–WOW!!!
Sue Noel
See,I was so excited to tell you –I made up a word–“howuch”–I meant–how much!!
