Good Morning!
It is another FUN day here at Lane’s End! I am trying to catch up on all of my BEAUTY SLEEP as there is a great deal of activity happening during Derby Week in town and I want to look my best!
I’ve just been told that I have OVER 80,000 Facebook Friends. This number has really grown since I’ve retired from racing. I can’t thank ALL OF YOU enough for wanting to keep in touch with ME! This is a HUGE number! I’m so proud!
Then The Moss’ and Dottie are coming into Lexington late tonight…so I’ll see all of them a great deal during the next few days. This is TERRIFIC! I am SO EXCITED! I also have some visitors coming who bid on visits with me for various charity auctions. This is always very rewarding. I am so happy to help others in any way I possibly can.
When reading the comments and responses, I am so glad that you enjoyed viewing the 60 Minutes piece again. Marilu V. asked if it was EL VINO working with me on the tape during the program. YES, it was! That is why John always said he deserved the award for SUPPORTING PLAYER! He worked with ME often to help prepare ME for my races and he did a FABULOUS JOB! What a GREAT GUY!
In life, it always takes people working together to make a difference. I was so very fortunate to have so many people who worked hard with me…and cooperated with each other to make it all happen for ME! I couldn’t be more grateful!
Over 80,000 FACEBOOK FANS! This is just TOO CUTE!
Blessing to all of you!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

She’s a beautiful lady of grace and demeanor.

I don’t know of many people or horses who are
Lively excited when they sleep. This may actually
Be a photo of her sleeping as many horses sleep
With their eyes open. I am sure she sleeps the same
Where ever she is. The Mayberrys commented on what
A good sleeper she was. My TB was out all night in paddock
Due to very hot weather during the day. When riding
Him in the morning it took a bit to wake him up.
Sweet dreams Zenny!!!!!

@ WILD HORSES: thanks!
@ MARS: enjoyed the links- thank you!
I wonder if the buyers at Keeneland who passed up Zenyatta because of a skin rash feel a little like the high school coach who cut Michael Jordan from the junior varsity team…

Queen Z….you look so cute in your stall. It reminds me of when I go to my barn a litle early and my horses are sleeping, thye are up in a moment the minute they hear the feed cart!
What an exciting week end ahead,my fingers are crossed for Zazu!
Leslie
Z, you are just “TOO CUTE”!! I love how you write! Glad to see you doing so well… you’re adorable when you are sleeping/resting! (Well, you are adorable all the time!)

Laura J. – Thanks for the heads-up on the traineers. I had forgotten who was in but I was going to check everything out on the bloodhorse site. Kathleen is a very good trainer year-end and year-out and your’re right about Macho, he really has a chance. Kudos and may the best gal win! :)
Mrs Weiner – I not only saw some of the greats you mentioned but have wonderful photos and posters of them on my walls.
My first thoroughbred love was the great Native Dancer. I watched him on tv and of course like everybody the world over, mourned his only loss in the Derby. Seeing Native Diver and John Henry in person, prepared me for the essence of Zenyatta. Both had such crowd presence and like the Queen, they would stop and stare at the crowd. Thrilling, that’s it in a nutshell. One of my life’s pleasures is that the Queen comes from the Native Dancer line. Sweet.

You are wonderful!!You continue to inspire me everyday ! I hope the weather dries out soon,so that you can enjoy romping in the blue grass!

Zenyatta-You look so very precious and beautiful. I love you and miss you with all my heart. I am keeping my everything crossed and sending my best wishes to ZaZu in the Oaks. Thank you Dottie as always for all you do.
There seems to be some confusion- so (trying to help) ZAZu is owned by Jerry & Ann Moss- Trained by John Sadler Not John Shirreffs(Z’s trainer) Note : All Moss owned horses are managed by Dottie Ingordo Shirreffs-
Joyful Victory –Trainer Larry Jones (Wife Cindy is also a great Lady and trainer)—Mike Smith (Z’s Jockey) is Up..
Go ZaZu GO! …and may Joyful Victory be right behind you 1-2!!

Enjoy Kentucky Derby week…I know I am going too. Once again I enjoyed the 60 MINUTES ZENYATTA Profile…you are a rare breed Zenyatta and I love your diary posts. Dottie is a special lady and a great many thanks for keeping your fans “in-the-loop” regarding your retirement. God Bless You and all your handlers. I miss watching you race…

Z is right, it does take people working together to make a difference. Lets work
together and help horses less fortunate than Z (she is helping). If u can’t make it to Trott’s KY Derby Party at Santa Anita, u can still bid on some of the fab auction items by phone. Memorabilia from Zenyatta, Uncle Mo, Curlin, Street Cry, Super Saver, Mike Smith, Laffit Pincay Jr.
A 40 x 50 Fred Stone canvas. For a list of items, email Bonnie asap trottusa@gmail.com

Kari, did u know Zazu & Joyful Victory are sisters (half sisters)? Same sire, Tapit. There is a third sister the same age, Dancinginherdreams. But she is taking a break, needs to eat up her oats, she is keeping herself busy on facebook though! How cool would that have been, to see the 3 grey sisters 1,2,3. At least there are still 2 in the Oaks. Tapit is doing better than Bernardini, Stay Thirsty is his only colt left in the Derby. I think half of the Derby contenders are related to A.P. Indy one way or another.

Please let us know when we can come visit and give you a big cuddle!

Was flying back from AZ last night with a connecting flight through Cinncinnati. As we passed over Kentucky and the rolling fields, I wondered if we were over Lane’s End. Thinking of you this week and so glad you will be seeing your family.
Good luck to Zazu on Friday !

Remember that you have fans beyond Facebook too, as some of us prefer to keep many of the tech aspects out of our lives.
Your 60 Minutes piece again reinforces you as inspiring in endless ways.

Great photo!
.
I know you will be happy to see all your friends this week. And it sounds like you will be having quite a few visitors this week. Only wish that I were one of them. :\ Can’t wait for new photos!

Beautiful Zenyatta, I think John’s photo of you should be titled “Beauty Sleeping”. Your beauty is both internal and external so I can’t imagine that you would ever need beauty rest, but then you have a very exiting week ahead with all your visitors. What a thrill for them just to stand near you. I know I would faint. You have a wonderful article in May issue of Ocala Style Magazine with interview and photos of Jeanne Mayberry and family. The world will always love you.
