Good Morning!
It is another FUN day here at Lane’s End! I am trying to catch up on all of my BEAUTY SLEEP as there is a great deal of activity happening during Derby Week in town and I want to look my best!
I’ve just been told that I have OVER 80,000 Facebook Friends. This number has really grown since I’ve retired from racing. I can’t thank ALL OF YOU enough for wanting to keep in touch with ME! This is a HUGE number! I’m so proud!
Then The Moss’ and Dottie are coming into Lexington late tonight…so I’ll see all of them a great deal during the next few days. This is TERRIFIC! I am SO EXCITED! I also have some visitors coming who bid on visits with me for various charity auctions. This is always very rewarding. I am so happy to help others in any way I possibly can.
When reading the comments and responses, I am so glad that you enjoyed viewing the 60 Minutes piece again. Marilu V. asked if it was EL VINO working with me on the tape during the program. YES, it was! That is why John always said he deserved the award for SUPPORTING PLAYER! He worked with ME often to help prepare ME for my races and he did a FABULOUS JOB! What a GREAT GUY!
In life, it always takes people working together to make a difference. I was so very fortunate to have so many people who worked hard with me…and cooperated with each other to make it all happen for ME! I couldn’t be more grateful!
Over 80,000 FACEBOOK FANS! This is just TOO CUTE!
Blessing to all of you!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

@Sue Noel. I’m glad there’s someone else out there that remembers things like this. It’s nice to share when there are so many that just look blank when I mention a name like hers because they’re too young to remember. My boss is 39 and I get a lot of blank looks from her when I start remembering. That’s OK, let’s her know in advance what she’ll experience in about 30 years. LOL.

Glad you are having company. Good luck to ZaZu. Need a special horse since you retired. Catch on the next post. Not even going to ask about Bernie. Hugs and Kisses

Dear Zenyatta,
You are a goddess. If you feel in need of beauty sleep, then there is no hope for us mere mortals! We have never seen you look anything other than gloriously beautiful. Your mane catches stray shreds of hay and turns it into spun gold. You transform the confines of your stall into a throne room fit for a Queen—-which you are. May you reign forever!
Enjoy this happy week with your family, who by their kind and generous words and deeds, are the living definition of royalty.
Linda
You and your amazing team have warmed 80,000 hearts! Love you, Z!
Jeanne
Dearest Zenyatta, I cried AGAIN watching you on 60 min. Will I ever stop!!
Dawn Conrad
Dearest, Zenyatta. My goodness, I missed a day! First I have to say how great the photo of John and Dottie together was. (And there was John’s trusty camera too. He provides us with such wonderful pictures, Zenny!) What an amazing couple!! I too am wishing the weather cooperates for the Oaks/Derby this weekend and above all else that those involved have a safe trip. The anticipation is certainly building. Best of luck to Team Z, hope your friend Zazu crosses the line first, Z. How special would that be! Of course I have to send positive thoughts to Mike on Joyful Victory also! I know the Moss’ and Dottie would want to spend as many hours as possible with you beautiful. You love and miss each other so much; it will be wonderful to have some quality time. I’m sure there will be lots of goodies for you, your paddock pals and barn mates to share. And it is fantastic that you will be welcoming some of the individuals who were so generous in their bids at some of the charity functions. They will make memories to last a lifetime. It was so special to see you on 60 Minutes again, you look fabulous. Seeing Mike and John talk about you in such a loving way, was especially touching. Your final kick was priceless. Congrats on the 80,000 Facebook count!! Too infinity and beyond, as Buzz Lightyear would say. Had a wonderful visit with Nina Kaiser today on the phone, Zenny. Loved sharing our mutual admiration of you. She has been involved at the track for over 30 years and has never seen a horse as perfect as you. Talent, beauty, intelligence, kindness, the list goes on and on. We know you are totally unique and truly amazing. I could have talked all day about you and Nina’s experiences in racing. We made the final arrangements for #19, I still can’t believe it. :) :) Love you, Zenyatta! Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO
@Shari – Hello my friend!!! Hope everyone in Homeroom 215 is fantastic! Tell Brooke it was great to see her post. “Zenyatta of Westgate” what a marvelous compliment!! Your heart fits that description to a tee.
@Peggy – Looks like Fasig Tipton will be having a sale while I am in Kentucky. I am going to try and follow your lead and spend some time there. What fun!!
@Karen Mitchell – Nina told me about some kind words you shared with her concerning me. Thank you so much, it means a great deal coming from you.
@ DJ and Ann – My prayers go out to both of you and your husbands.
@Sue Noel – The arrival is getting closer everyday. I can’t wait. Thanks for checking on me!
@the Kennedys – Nina and I talked about her time with Azeri also. Fantastic!

I miss seeing you all the time. horseracing hasnt got the thrill for me now you’re gone. someday I am going to come and see my girl. happiest day of my life will be when I see you!! you do look a little sad. I think you miss racing
Joan
Hi Z, the biggest horse week of the year and you are at LE. Boy I sure miss you, I knew I would though. If you were still racing you would be a scratch anyway due to the slop on the track just like a couple of years ago. John always took care of you and the track conditions
had to be perfect.I want to thank him for that. 20 times and you always came home safe. I hope the same is true after this weekend all of them come home safe. You are so beautiful, just perfection.
Love ya Z.
Jan
Zenyatta,

watching the 60 mins segment on line just makes us feel emotional Z, I don’t think that will ever leave any of us, it still seems like yesterday that you were here in Ca and doing your thing. I love the photo of you resting, John should make a picture book of you I know all of us would buy it in a heart beat. I hope you have a wonderful time with your visit, and being KY Derby and Oaks week wow time goes. Here is pulling for ZaZu with Joel and for Joyful Victory with Mike up. Going to be a good race and I’ll still be pulling for Uncle Mo on Sat. Love you Z
Linda Henderson

I think this is one of my favorite photos of the Queen. She looks so sweet and peaceful just laying in the hay. Have a wonderful visit with her and take lots of pictures Ann! We appreciate them more than you know. Thank you for the Ocala link. Good luck to ZaZu, Jerry and Ann Moss and John Shirreff’s in her race.
Linda in NJ
Hi Zenny: Well–my you certainly look nice and comfy. It is important for us girls to get our beauty rest. I keep saying to myself, Linda you have to get to bed earlier than what you do. So Zenny you are a good role model for me. Aside from your beauty rest, which BTW you always look wonderful; you have to rest up for this weekend. I can’t wait!! I was hoping to get a new LCD TV to watch the Kentucky Derby, but, I am going to have to wait a little while longer. Best of luck to Zazu! How exciting to have someone in the Oaks event that you know. Take care Zenny. Love, Linda

You, Zenny, have made horseracing fans out of many who never were before. That’s one reason why you are considered by me and many others to be the greatest racehorse ever. Your fabulous races made me cry tears of joy. Love and hugs!

@Jim Matos

She was racing. She is sleeping !!!!!
Peggy
Dear Zenyatta. You are just beautiful in todays picture. I hope you are having a wonderful evening and I hope you have a wonderful time this week visiting with your visitors. I know its going to be a wonderful week.
@Mars thanks so much for the great links to the Mayberry’s and Mr. Robinson
@Dawn, Yes you have got to go to the sales, I think I liked going to the sale better than the races. Its so exciting, I heard you mention one time that when you and your moms went to some of the farms that you just liked to go out and be with the horses or you said something of that nature. At the sales I just spend the day and just got lost visiting with the horses, went back to the barns just had a great time. When i was there they had a horse in barn l9 I believe that I wanted to go see that was selling that day and I asked someone how far back was barn l9 and they said way way back. Well i got distracted and just didn’t get back there, (so sorry that I didn’t) there was a filly by charismagic Granddaughter of charismatic. I think I went back to the Sales Pavillion. So missed getting to see her.I just love Ocala too, they are having another sale Aug 23, 24, and 25 and you know i have already asked off time at work. This is the yearling sale. Just don’t miss the opportunity to go to a sale. You will not want to leave…….
Zenny I’ll say Goodnight for now Sweet Sweet Dreams……I believe the filly by Charismagic went in the sales ring the next day. I will wonder if she sold or not she was a Chestnut filly foaled in Kentucky. Love Ya Zenny, Peggy
