Good Morning!
It is another FUN day here at Lane’s End! I am trying to catch up on all of my BEAUTY SLEEP as there is a great deal of activity happening during Derby Week in town and I want to look my best!
I’ve just been told that I have OVER 80,000 Facebook Friends. This number has really grown since I’ve retired from racing. I can’t thank ALL OF YOU enough for wanting to keep in touch with ME! This is a HUGE number! I’m so proud!
Then The Moss’ and Dottie are coming into Lexington late tonight…so I’ll see all of them a great deal during the next few days. This is TERRIFIC! I am SO EXCITED! I also have some visitors coming who bid on visits with me for various charity auctions. This is always very rewarding. I am so happy to help others in any way I possibly can.
When reading the comments and responses, I am so glad that you enjoyed viewing the 60 Minutes piece again. Marilu V. asked if it was EL VINO working with me on the tape during the program. YES, it was! That is why John always said he deserved the award for SUPPORTING PLAYER! He worked with ME often to help prepare ME for my races and he did a FABULOUS JOB! What a GREAT GUY!
In life, it always takes people working together to make a difference. I was so very fortunate to have so many people who worked hard with me…and cooperated with each other to make it all happen for ME! I couldn’t be more grateful!
Over 80,000 FACEBOOK FANS! This is just TOO CUTE!
Blessing to all of you!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

You always look lovely. We were in the middle of watching the 60 Minutes piece out here in Los Angeles when it was rudely interrupted by a holding pattern from CBS News for the next hour until the actual news happened. Can Dottie post a link to the piece so we can see the complete story?

I was a state 4-H hippology/speech/judging competition and a young lady gave a very compelling speech regarding horse racing, the greats, etc. It wasn’t the proper venue, but I wanted to raise my hand and add Zenyatta to the list. You, my girl, have done more positive things for race horsing than ever imagined! That’s why we all love you and that’s why you have 80,000 Facebook fans!

Went on my computer to watch the rest of your piece on 60 Minutes, which was rudely interrupted by the news of Bin Laden’s death. Had tears in my eyes as you are such a wonderful girl! I love you with all of my heart and wish I could see you in person! Have a great time with your people, and enjoy Derby Week! Who do you want to win the Derby???

Dearest Sweet “Z”,
OH! TOO PRECIOUS! Sometimes there are just not enough descriptive words for such an adorable site. Thank you.. I have imagined you snuggled up and here is the photo! Thank you Dottie and John, will be praying for your safe return as well as a fun and fabulous trip to Kentucky!
Rosemary McCauley
You looked beautiful on 60 Minutes and very happy and playful. I was able to get it on a disc so I can watch it as many times as I want. Good luck to all those running in Kentucky this weekend.
Mike
I had read that there had been another date planned for early ???? March or April ??? but I hadn’t seen any status since. Could you share?? Are we expecting??? I loved the 60 min. episode. I do not think I could watch the helment cam training enough…. I enjoy the diary, its too cute. Hopefully I will get to come see you in person some day. We live in GA now and do not get back to KY often enough. Z I’ve grown up working at the track as a groom when I was a boy and have been watching racing all my life. I’m 56 now, your are the greatest!! I’d hate to have to live on the difference between you and the great Secretariat…… Thank You!!!

Hi Christine Valada,
If you click the yellow ‘Back’ arrow at the bottom of this page and go to Diary Post #236, Dottie has the 60 minutes website in yellow. Just click on it and you can watch the special in its entirety. Also, I felt the highlight was the web-additions in the two boxes below. Enjoy!

I was so excited when I learned that you were going to be on 60 Minutes again! I was glued to the television! You’re the best!!!
Bridget
Watcha doin, Z?? Yes, you are VERY BLESSED, girl!
Bobbie from WI
Good idea to get lots of rest during Derby week. I bet you are looking forward to seeing your “people” again but all that activity will seem strange after your quiet weeks lately. Have fun! I see that Mr Commons is next in line in earnings for the Derby but they are saving him for the Preakness. Good idea!
linda
The most gorgeous horse in the world.
Linda
When will the public be able to see her in person???
Linda
Z, it was great to see you again on 60 Minutes. I got to thinking about a “worthy suitor” for you, and the great Secretariat came to mind. Wish he were still here for you….what lovely foals you would produce. The right man will come along, you’ll see….
Pat Beck
What a beauty you are, Z! I loved seeing you on 60 Minutes again. I had people calling me and emailing me to let me know you were going to be on. As if I wouldn’t be on top of that! But I do appreciate their knowing how important you are to me. As Mr. Simon said you are simply the most splendid creature we’ve ever seen.
Love you always, Z.

p.s. Sweet “Z”
How heart-warming it would be to see a picture of when you first see the Moss’ and Dottie. They are all so thoughtful and always thinking of sharing with others; so it is hopeful :) Thank you for your generosity.
Laura Wetzel
Zen, that photo of you is adorable. As if you need beauty sleep, you are the most beautful girl in the world. I hope Mr. Commons makes it it to the Derby. That would be fun. Enjoy of your family and guests this week. Hugs to you Pretty Girl.

@Linda, nothing has been announced. Farms don’t normally allow the general public to visit the broodmares. Unlike stallion barns which host visitors frequently, broodmare barns aren’t really set up to host visitors, and there are other issues as well. If (and it’s a big if) Lane’s End ever does make arrangements for fans to visit Zenyatta, it’ll be after their breeding shed closes in early July. If anything happens, no doubt it will be posted here first.
