Happy Oaks / Derby Week to Everyone!
Wow! It is hard to believe that it is already May! The weather is a bit nicer here this morning. It is not too hot and the rain in Lexington has stopped for the moment. Everyone in town is hoping that the weather cooperates to make it a fun and fabulous week for all of our many visitors!
My Moss Pal, ZAZU, leaves CA very early in the morning on Tex Sutton’s plane and will land in Kentucky tomorrow around 10ish. I’m wishing her a nice, relaxing flight and a very successful Oaks week. The Moss’ and Dottie will be arriving late Tuesday. I am SO excited to be able to visit with them during the next several days. They did say they were going to spend LOTS of time with ME while they are in town. This is GREAT NEWS!
How about the 60 MINUTES program which aired last night! It is interesting that many people throughout the country were able to see the segment and commented about it to all of my TEAM. In California, the last part of it was interrupted due to BREAKING NEWS! John said that they were able to see it on-line…which is terrific! I know they MISS ME!
I think 60 Minutes did a wonderful job on MY update! It is so special that they were able to show me outside in the paddock with my dear friend, Pirates Queen. The portions on MY TEAM were adorable! Just in case, you did not get to see it last night or live in CA and the segment was interrupted, I’m including the 60 Minutes Link for you! They really did a wonderful job capturing so many special moments of MY LIFE!
Enjoy!

Oh no, poor R Heat Lightning is 99% out of the Oaks (knee problem). She is so fast. Oh well, that makes Zazu’s job a little easier. She will have to look out for her sister, Joyful Victory with your Mikey on board though. Good luck to them all. Dottie is going to have such a fun week, busy, but fun.

Dearest Sweet “Z”,
I enjoyed the two 60 Minutes Overtime segments the most. You are great as always! Thanks to ‘your’ John and Dottie for sharing such a GREAT photo with us. TOO TOO CUTE!! It is an admirable quality to make each person feel as if they are special; and they achieve this so well.

I didn’t get to see the 60 Minutes special last night, I was at mom’s and right now her cable is not working. Thanks for sharing the link.
Zenny, you look so happy and beautiful in Kentucky – I’m happy to see you playing and dancing.
Thanks to Dottie, the Moss’s CBS and 60 Minutes for showing us this update, it made me smile!!!
It was also nice to show the Breeders’s Cup and talk about the Kentucky Derby, Horseracing needs a lot more press than it currently gets.

Hugs and all my love to you!!!! Again a huge THANK YOU!!!! to Dottie – you really make my day.

A beautiful photo of a wonderful and kind couple – John and Dottie. So glad your California family will be spending alot of time with you this week. Good luck to Zazu and the Mosses. Too bad John isn’t the tainer, but I understand that Dottie’s son David’s excellent bloodstocking abilities must be shared with other trainers. Don’t forget the pictures please!

Oh Zenyatta…I got goose bumps just watching you race again. You are like music coming down the track. Love those perked ears with the little white cotton balls showing. You are such a magnificent animal to look upon. Soo glad you are a happy horse at Lane’s End. They know what a special mare you are and treat you as such. I’m soo excited for you getting to see John and Dottie this week. I know they miss you terribly and I’m sure you miss them as well. Here’s hopeing your fren Zazu does really well at Church Hill Downs. Much love to you…Lou

Osama being gone is great. I’m sorry but the man did nothing for mankind and just wasted time, money and space. I just wish it hadn’t come at the expense of Z. Let me try to explain. For those on the east coast you may or may not have gotten the ding dong bell, with the picture being minimized (much like they have done on ESPN). The ding dong bell was so LOUD that you couldn’t hear a word of what Mr. Simon was saying.
They could have easily just scrolled a news alert screen at the bottom but they didn’t. That combined with how LONG it took the Pres to actually show up was also irritating. Now add on the fact, that from Sat night to this morning I was not able to get online because my internet was dingy–I was a bit furious at the interruption.
No great loss to mankind. Maybe now we can all get back to what we were BEFORE OSAMA took over and made everyone so scared of their own shadow.

What a great job 60 Minutes did – of course and what a GREAT subject!!! Love you, Queen Z!!!!

Dear Z,
Loved the segment on 60 Minutes that showed us you and Pirate Queen in the paddock. You looked so clean and shiny and beautiful. Nice photo of John and Dottie. Wishing Zazu the best and safe trip in the Oaks. Rooting for her. Love you and love to all of you, Judy and Russ
Louise Castello
You were wonderful on 60 minutes. Such a STAR! I love you so much. Rooting for Zazu and praying everyone comes home safely from the derby. It’s wise if you’re keeping any pregnancy news to yourself for a while. It’ll happen when you’re ready. Love, love, love you.

Dear Zenyatta,
I was one of the lucky East Coast people who got to watch 60 Minutes uninterrupted. Oh, how I love watching you run! You are one happy horse wherever and whatever you are doing because your people have always put your well being first.
Today’s photo, is a great portrait of John and Dottie. It tells a story, with the 60 Minutes hat, John’s camera hanging from his neck and how close together Dottie and John are. They both look happy, he handsome and Dottie pretty.
Good luck to Zazu. I will be cheering for her. I’m sure you will enjoy your visits from John and Dottie.
Take good care Sweet One.

Wow Miss Zen! You have a wonderful week in store for you.
HINT: A blonde lady with a suitcase full of carrots. Another blonde lady with your favourite mints. A man with a cap on who always checks your legs and then takes enough footage to produce a documentary movie. Another man with grey hair and glasses who just can’t stop smiling when he watches you. And a young fella, who will probably arrive with coffee cup in hand, who stands a little back of the gang and hugs you with his eyes!
I love you big girl and it’s so TERRIFIC to hear that your Cal family is on their way!!!!!
