Happy Saturday!
On May 10th, the PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN of CALIFORNIA will be holding their yearly conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. This organization was founded in 1989 by U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier. It is dedicated to advancing the professional and personal development of women of all ages and and on all levels. The PBWC provides tools, resources, and a strong business community to encourage women to succeed and contribute at the highest levels in all aspects of various fields, businesses and industries.
I am honored to say that I have just learned one of my fans has spoken to them about ALL of my accomplishments as a Female Athlete who achieved this success while residing in California. As a result, the PBWC wants to include me in their program. How proud and flattered I am at this moment! I’m pretty sure a HORSE has not been part of their program before this!
The conference has 3 different presentations outlined for the day. They are CONNECT, EXPLORE and INSPIRE! My work and achievements have been selected to KICK-OFF the INSPIRE portion of the program. I will be followed in this part of the presentation by Carolyn Johnson from ABC 7 News, International Author, Isabel Allanda, and then America Ferrara, who is an Emmy Award Winning Actress for her role in the series, Ugly Betty.
If you are interested in learning more about PBWC or the conference, here is the link:
I can’t begin to tell you how truly elated I am at receiving this news! INSPIRE!! Wow!
It is gorgeous in Kentucky today. My pals and I are really enjoying this great weather. Then tomorrow…60 Minutes is airing an update on ME! I am so fortunate!
Have a very special weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

You are ever the star, Zen!! The most spectacular, as they called you on 60 minutes!! Oh how beautiful and happy you look!!

Just finished watching 60 Minutes and I’m a little disappointed. It mostly was the first show from last November with very little about her present life at Lane’s End. There were few comments about her retirement and that she had “one brief affair but, so far no kids”. There was some brief film showing her in the paddock with her girl friends and I loved that. I guess I was hoping for more about her life now and maybe, just maybe, a comment about whether or not she is in foal. If you take what they said about no kids literally, then apparently she’s not in foal. However, I also think that the Mosses and LE may not want that made public yet. Oh well, on to the next post.

Zenyatta, you are more beautiful than ever. It was great to see you and PQ hanging out and your “spa” (mud bath) has gotten to be a nice size, glad to see you are meeting your daily beauty requirememnts TEE HEE. You are forever the queen dear one. No footage of you is ever old and never will be. Love you beautiful girl. Hugs
Lil from KY
WOW—-I am crying my eyes out after seeing the gorgeous Zenyatta on 60 minutes! CBS did a wonderful job, Mike & John were both fabulous, I hope everyone in the country was watching, so they will all know what we have been talking about, when we are singing Zenyatta’s praises!!!
I told several nonhorse people, who said they would watch the show, so now, maybe they won’t be saying,”Zenyatta who”!
Zen looked more gorgeous than I had ever seen her. Zen, you are truly the Mare of all time! A Big Kiss, & congrats on a fine performance.

I forgot to say Thank you Zenyatta & Team-Z …and thank you CBS…60 minutes crew.
AJ from CA
Since I’m on Pacific time zone I still have 2 more hours before it’s televised but sounds like they have segments from last year with a little bit of current update? Whatever the case I’m sure more new fans will come to know about the greatest mare ever!
Linda in NJ
Zenny: It was fun watching you do your little dance steps at LE.

Oh! Zenyatta I just goosebumps all over again watching you race on 60 minutes. You are so beautiful. I love you Zenyatta. Hope your May weather is better than the April showers. Take good care dear one.
Mary Margaret from Georgia
Will your stamp be available? Where? When? Sweet dreams sweet girl.
Sue and Tony
Zenny…we loved the 60 minutes segment on YOU. We had the honor of seeing you run at the 2010 BC but were seated at the beginning of the far turn and did not realize how close you came to winning. No we haven’t watched footage of the race till now and you only lost by a whisker. Girl, you were haulin at the finish line…you just ran out of room. ;-)
You are one gorgeous gal as the footage from LE shows. Yes, Zenny…you are still the QUEEN.
Suew
Zenny…you are still the dancing QUEEN. You looked gorgeous in the video from LE.
Was there ever any doubt? Spectacular, as your John would say…you are simply spectacular.

Dear Z,
Just watched the 60 Minutes piece. Want you to know you looked stunning in the last shot. I think that was Pirate Queen with you. Love you and waiting to hear more news. Judy and Russ

Beautiful Zenyatta, You are spectacular as ever, your coat is so shiny and I could tell by that tiny buck that you are feeling great. Thank you to Mr.& Mrs. Moss, John, Dottie, Mike and 60 Minutes for a wonderful Sunday evening. Love you so much.

WOW Zenyatta I was crying and cheering and so excited to see your 60 min coverage. I hope the whole world was watching. I taped it to show the children. You are so beautiful and smart. I think John and Mike are both intelligent talented men. They both know their crafts inside and out. I was also proud of them too. Team Z way to GO!! I hope you had a little sunshine and some dry time today. We had a few breaks in Ohio :) Well my sweet girl my class has one more test tomorrow. Since the rest of the classes are cut short I can show the tape. I just want you to know I think you will go down in history as the most famous horse of all times. All you have accomplished and given is unique. Your special family took that beauty and the special gifts you have and nurtured and groomed them into the girl you are today. They showered you with love and taught you to be you. What you turned into is a once in a lifetime horse. I feel blessed to be apart of your world. I love you Hugs and Kisses from Shari XXXOOO
@Susan in Tn thanks for the kind words. I hope you have a good week :)
@Lisa G I love your posts. I am learning from you. Do you work with horses?
@Sarah thank you. Those children are so special to me. My homeroom is like a family. We have all bonded and I really feel blessed :)
@Hi Dawn I enjoyed the whole wedding and think Lady D would be proud of her son.

How wonderful to be able to see you on the screen again, with some up close and personal views as well as some of your great races. It still breaks my heart about November 2010, when I was in shock at the result. But after seeing it again I agree with many who say it was your finest race. With SO MUCH to overcome, including the track surface, the lights (never before), starting your run from further back that usual, you were magnificent coming through the stretch. I think you had never raced there before and the finish line just came up a couple of jumps too soon. I couldn’t watch the aftermath of the race until much later because I was worried that it would be confusing and I didn’t want you to be disappointed. Not to worry, you are the best and can handle most anything that comes your way. That includes motherhood, which will be in your future with wonderful results I know.
Now about that postage stamp…
Kim
Falling in love all over again after the 60 Minutes piece. You are so special and I love you so very much. Gonna rain again, what else in new. Stay dry dear girl.
Jack W.
A rerun of last year’s piece with some brief footage of her at Lane’s End. Her repro status was not mentioned only that she had an “affair” but “no kids” yet. Not one of “60 Minutes” best efforts.
So Dottie, what’s going on. We’re half way through the season and for whatever reason you folks have chosen to become secretive. I think you owe it to all of these posters (99% females) who have poured out their emotions and opened their hearts to the mare through you and the Z team. The rumor mill is starting to churn in Ky and before long it will spread to every track in the country. Zenyatta’s magnificence does not need to be sullied by this sort of idle racetrack gossip.

Joyce, her 2010 Breeders Cup Classic WAS her finest race. Believe it. When she first started out the camera had to pan back from Alaska to find her. For a horse to do what she did was otherworldly. Bill Nack, Secretariat’s biographer and not originally a believer in Zenyatta, got it. He was quoted as saying “I don’t know how she made up all that ground.” I read article after article about how people had questions about her ability going into the BCC, especially trainers in the business. There was talk all around Churchill that she wasn’t that special. That maybe her legend was built on sand. But after her run, ALL the professionals were in awe of what they saw at the BCC. When she finished behind him by a nose my husband said to me “I’m so sorry honey.” I said to him “Sorry about what! I can’t believe what I just saw.” I knew I had just seen one of the greatest runs in the history of horse racing. Right afte the Belmont/Secretariat for me. Winning or losing became irrelevant for the first time in a horse race. The 60 Minutes repeat/update was wonderful to see. Made me smile ear to ear to see our girl in the paddock just being a horse. John Sherriff’s and Mike Smith’ sremarks were wonderful. She has been so well loved.
Alexis
maybe she was rebred again and they won’t till us till the 45 days mark
Dani
It’s going to sound odd but after watching the segment I realized I kind of miss seeing the cotton in your ears!! (It was great to see my little sweetie Pirate Queen in the paddock with you).
Dona
The Post Office needs operating money, if only they would do a stamp of the Queen! Everybody would buy them, very few would be actually used and the Post Office would make a killing! :)
Can’t wait for 60 minutes, it will be on in less than an hour. YIPEEE
Delrene
Dear Zenyatta – Have a little over 30 minues before 60 minutes in Ca. Can’t wait. I think it’s a great idea that hopefully the thoroughbred association could get rolling. How does an organization start getting stamps. They could do stamps with famous stallions and filles, Wouldn’t take much to figure out the first two. Secretariat and Zenyatta. I wonder how you petition to get a stamp made in their honor. Or a Kentucky Derby stamp????? A long-time American tradition. Triple Crown winners? I buy the animal shelter postage stamps and who wouldn’t buy out a Zenyatta stamp collection???? All of us on this website could almost get us out of the national debt…. A thought anyway. Looking forward to your t.v. special.
Max
@Paula. When you are truly great like Zenyatta, some people cannot accept it. It is just too much to believe. They downplay such extraordinary talent as nothing special. Wrong! If anyone can say that what Zenyatta did at the BC was anything else than sheer magnificence, they are losing out on the rare pleasure of being a witness to the thrill of a lifetime. Zenyatta is pure magic.
Kim
@ Paula Higgins SO WELL PUT Paula! It truly was the only race where winning/losing didn’t matter. She ran such a spectacular race I was in sheer awe at her abilities (not that those abilities were ever in question on my part)! :)
Linda in NJ
@Paula Higgins: I like when reporters say that the 2010 BC was her “finest” race. I do get a little ticked when they say it was her “best” race. I think to myself they must have been sleeping under a rock during the 2009 BC. That race was truly an awesome and unbelievable race! Even then there was lots of skepticism of whether she could win, and she showed them what she was made of. The 2010 BC was her race to win!!! To come from that far back and out run the other 10 horses and only miss by a nose was phenomenal. And keep in mind—according to reports, it was the best field of horses since 1998.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, I watched you tonight on 60 minutes and felt as if life stood still. To relive the special moments of your life in racing is so much more than wonderful. To hear John Shirreffs, Ann & Jerry Moss and Mike talk of you and see their expressions are priceless. John says it best “Zenyatta knows.” You looked great at LE saw a little of Pirate Queen walking with you. You still have that beautiful dance step. I wonder what you are thinking when you do that? Your jump/kick looked good to finish off 60 minutes with. Goodnight Sweet Zenyatta! I love you and the inspirations you have giving to so many. Sending Hugs & Kisses To You From Alabama, Amanda G.
