Happy Saturday!
On May 10th, the PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN of CALIFORNIA will be holding their yearly conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. This organization was founded in 1989 by U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier. It is dedicated to advancing the professional and personal development of women of all ages and and on all levels. The PBWC provides tools, resources, and a strong business community to encourage women to succeed and contribute at the highest levels in all aspects of various fields, businesses and industries.
I am honored to say that I have just learned one of my fans has spoken to them about ALL of my accomplishments as a Female Athlete who achieved this success while residing in California. As a result, the PBWC wants to include me in their program. How proud and flattered I am at this moment! I’m pretty sure a HORSE has not been part of their program before this!
The conference has 3 different presentations outlined for the day. They are CONNECT, EXPLORE and INSPIRE! My work and achievements have been selected to KICK-OFF the INSPIRE portion of the program. I will be followed in this part of the presentation by Carolyn Johnson from ABC 7 News, International Author, Isabel Allanda, and then America Ferrara, who is an Emmy Award Winning Actress for her role in the series, Ugly Betty.
If you are interested in learning more about PBWC or the conference, here is the link:
I can’t begin to tell you how truly elated I am at receiving this news! INSPIRE!! Wow!
It is gorgeous in Kentucky today. My pals and I are really enjoying this great weather. Then tomorrow…60 Minutes is airing an update on ME! I am so fortunate!
Have a very special weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

Everyone…please stop…the site can be taken down in a moments’ notice and we will have no say in the matter…love for Zenyatta is the rallying cry…we could all lose her…our hearts would be broken..
Shari
For the record, if I feel this way, I know there are many others too, that are completely uninterested in second guessing Z’s handling, her pregnancy, breeding, visiting of LE, her diet, stats and other very boring horse info that matters naught. However, I pass through or by quickly and also know that someone else IS interested in that information or conversation. Making other’s feel unwelcome though, is wrong.
Aaron
@Ann G, AMEN!

@Kathy Kimber, Mr. Commons will not be going to the Derby. He is not in the Top 20 earners. They decided it was not worth the expense and trouble to ship to Churchill Downs on the off-chance that one of the “in” horses will be withdrawn. Anthony’s Cross is also out. I believe both are being pointed toward the Preakness.
Barbara
@Livey
Perfectly said. Everyone is my teacher and I learn from all. But most especially those I disagree with can teach me the most. Importantly, how not to be.
livey
@Shari-Bravo to you!!! Hope everyone reads your last two post on here. You said all that needs to be said and why this site needs to be inclusive to ALL.
.
@eastcoastkid- I understand your concerns, but I refuse to post or refrain from posting out of fear.

@ SG,

LOL, didn’t you know it’s ALL about me?? ;-)
Whether I post once or 5 times, I’m suddenly posting double digits and am the devil’s minion. Mike and Ann G, hope you’re having a wonderful day, you’re certainly pleasant people…(if not delusional)

@ Dear Judy, neither did I win the lottery, but remember… if at first we do not succeed, try try again. My adorable Zenyatta, that photo should be made in to a commemorative stamp! I love you, Ingrid from SoBe.
S (in san diego)
@Ann…Hope all goes well for your husband. He has great taste wearing his Z hat.
@ all the rest of you..I love Z and will be cheering on Zazu, but as for the bantering….Silly. If people want to share their personal life, or ask for good thought or prayers let them be. Who knows…This could be the one place they can share their feelings. I love that there are new horse lovers on this website, and others who have been involved in other discplines, or just owned as pets…we all can learn from those who are in the Racing World. I know I appreciate the information, since my racing knowledge was limited before seeing Z for the first time a few years ago.
I wish this website could just exist as whatever it is on any given day. One common thread…An appreciation for one horse who has changed (or has a chance to change) the industry. As we all learn more….we will be able to have positive influences on TB issues. How many would have ever known about the situation of Old Friends, if it had not been for this website and one of the posters or the Zenyatte lounge at Santa Anita. Anyway….that’s all I got :) have a great week everyone. Exciting week…and looking forward to the Derby Party at Santa Anita. (not quite Louisville..but hope the person I sold my ticket and Derby package to…has a great time). Maybe 2013.

I’m the second Joyce (B), who posted comments that stirred some emotions today. I wanted to clarify so that others did not think it was the first Joyce that posted on this thread. For now on, I will make sure to post that distinction by posting as JoyceB.
.
As for my comments today. I will let them stand. Everything that could have been said has been by me or others.
Janet Cutting
WOW, I was wondering what was going on –we’re rocking and rolling–it’s ENSIGN !!! of course— always enjoy your company–BIG HELLO!!!!!!.

LOL Janet, I made the mistake of agreeing with another poster and I’m now to blame for all the unrest ;-)
S’ok, I’ve got big shoulders : )
Have a Derby pick yet?

Happy Monday Zenyatta, Team Z and Z Fans!
@S (in San Diego)–What a great post, very well said. Any idea how close Old Friends is to their goal? I may have to post on their Facebook again to see.
60 Minutes was very “Zen” since I didn’t get to see it the first time around. And how happy did Z look with Pirate Queen? :)
Thanks Ann, Jerry and Lane’s End for letting 60 Minutes spend time with Zenny again. It is so appreciated. As well as Dottie and John for updating we Z fans with the diary and pictures.
@Ensign–thanks for the name of Rachel’s sister.
Everyone, especially Shari V’s little ones, have a great week as we await the Derby.
Lotsa love to all.
Vicki B.
@Barbara @susie @Shari & @livey – kudos to your wonderful dialogues. On target. A gift. And @JoyceB, I liked what you wrote, even though I didn’t agree with all of it. It’s good, like you said, you’re letting your comments stand. Zennyland has room for all.
@Paula Higgins & @Linda in NJ – I loved your posts about Zenny’s BCC races. Great stuff!
@Mike, sorry, I don’t even want to comment on much that you said, it’s just not nice. But you claimed “Count his posts today, more than double-digit” — so I did count them, and there are seven.
Aaron
S in San Diego – Perfectly stated. Let them Be. There may come an unfortunate time when those who feel contray, go through a hardship, and may be prompted to post here and receive a prayer or two. Especially because they know they will be offerred and given.
Mike
@Kathy Kimber,
I think hateful is calling someone delusional. I won’t complain though, because I read the comment. Will just agree to disagree about moderation by non-moderators and leave it to the powers that be. I hope you have a good day too, Ensign.
Terry from Hollywood Park
Have to agree with Mike. I have reserved box seats and am always at the track. Live and let live, there is always “life” talk in-between horse-talk. No big deal, and often a pleasant distraction. Friends are made that way too.
Terry from Hollywood Park
More accurately when the ladies are with us, there is horse talk in-between life talk! Either way, it’s All good.
Terry from Hollywood Park
And just for the record, I was engaging in “life” talk when I happened to meet a Cardiologist across the table from me. Good thing too, he was just who I needed at the time to assist with health issues. Great referral and now a personal friend at the track. You never know who God puts in your path if you pay attention.
Patricia Emery
@ Maria…if you read my message, I clearly stated that I was not trying to control what people were to post or NOT post…I simply was trying to attempt to state that it would be nice to just come to this site and read nice comments about Zenyatta and horse racing and not have to read the bickering going on back and forth…this is why I don’t come here every day because lately, you can always count on someone getting upset about something “sensitive” that someone posted…I was just trying to convey that I “think” this site was supposed to be about Zenyatta, since her name is the link to get here…not about a “blog” to share our personal challenges and difficulties…there are plenty of other places for that…but, if people wish to continue to discuss those topics, for the record, I am not the authority to tell people to stop…I just think it would be a more enjoyable place to visit if we all just stayed focus on Zenyatta…I in no way meant to “crack the whip” on anyone…
Maria
Patricia,
I understood your message perfectly. The friends of Zenyatta that are posting freely are here because they have been brought together with love by her. Zenyatta is what we all have in common. There is no lack of Zenyatta, only a lack of impatience. All of the friendships formed here are BECAUSE of Zenyatta. She is the common denominator. It is truly amazing that she brings us to a deeper level, the sharing of ourselves (our greatest gift we give) if we feel safe. Dottie and the Moss’ are obviously very proud of this website and as they have quoted are “deeply, deeply, touched.” That touch is not from ‘whose your Derby pick?’ but from the hand of God who speaks in the civility of patience, gentleness and kindness. All are welcome, we meet one another where they are at, not where we want them to be.
Shari
@livey,
By the way, I think your great livey. Just speaking for myself, I believe in passing by comments not of interest, and just, if not more importantly, having the self control to forgo a negative remark on them. We all watch who does this and who does the opposite the first chance they get. And most especially, not to cause divisions by separating those who are doing what they prefer, and those who are not. That is not being unitive but divisive.
Shari
Fortunately, or unfortunately, there is a spiritual element in this, for we are still all together in one website and those with the most spiritual formation are the easiest to get along with. Truth stands on its own.
Mike in Ca
You are right Vicky B. I obviously did not completely understand Joyce’s remark about double-digit posting either. I read it as the implication of anyone posting more than once. That appeared to me as an insensitive and unusual remark for such a site as this; for who is counting comments? The site is open for dialogue throughout the day and evening and certain times are better for some than others. I also thought it unusual to discount and discredit others who are obviously enjoying good conversations about horses or Z-friendships. Both equally valid. I apologize for my part in the disarray.
livey
@Shari:
Thank you. I have to however respectively disagree with your last post (“and those with the most spiritual formation are the easiest to get along with. Truth stands on its own”). Saddens me and contradictory to your previous posts. :(
Shari
Thank you livey,
Not at all, you just proved my point :)
Read every comment up to Joyce’s. All positive. Then hers, all negative. Read all of todays comments on #237, all positive..etc.
Respectfully, Shari.
