Happy Saturday!
On May 10th, the PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN of CALIFORNIA will be holding their yearly conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. This organization was founded in 1989 by U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier. It is dedicated to advancing the professional and personal development of women of all ages and and on all levels. The PBWC provides tools, resources, and a strong business community to encourage women to succeed and contribute at the highest levels in all aspects of various fields, businesses and industries.
I am honored to say that I have just learned one of my fans has spoken to them about ALL of my accomplishments as a Female Athlete who achieved this success while residing in California. As a result, the PBWC wants to include me in their program. How proud and flattered I am at this moment! I’m pretty sure a HORSE has not been part of their program before this!
The conference has 3 different presentations outlined for the day. They are CONNECT, EXPLORE and INSPIRE! My work and achievements have been selected to KICK-OFF the INSPIRE portion of the program. I will be followed in this part of the presentation by Carolyn Johnson from ABC 7 News, International Author, Isabel Allanda, and then America Ferrara, who is an Emmy Award Winning Actress for her role in the series, Ugly Betty.
If you are interested in learning more about PBWC or the conference, here is the link:
I can’t begin to tell you how truly elated I am at receiving this news! INSPIRE!! Wow!
It is gorgeous in Kentucky today. My pals and I are really enjoying this great weather. Then tomorrow…60 Minutes is airing an update on ME! I am so fortunate!
Have a very special weekend!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

@Cindy at CA. I was reading the English papers about the 2000 this am. According to the jockey, he knew that Frankel had won the race at the half. He therefore asked Frankel to ease up and he was basically coasting to the end. WOW! What a horse! Frankel is thrilling like our Z. Go Frankel!

A beautiful picture Zenyatta….really beautiful! You DO Inspire!!

Hi Z
Your interview got preempted last night out here in CA by Obama. He was suppose to make his statement at 10:30 and kept everyone waiting til 8:30. And then my puter has been on the blitz so I guess I’m rather annoyed.
I guess I have just have to wonder what Osama was thinking–like how would he like to be remembered??? As a mass murderer? Is that really something to aspire to? I’m glad we got him. That piece of cow manure should have croaked a long time ago. I’m just sorry you got preempted. I was so looking forward to seeing new video of you.
I hope CBS can be convinced to reair this since we didn’t see it out here.
Nuff said. Hope you are well. At least my puter is back. I have other news that I will share when I can. In the meantime I urge all to continue supporting Old Friends in whatever you can. Time is short for them and its the horses who will suffer the loss of home if the bank is allowed to foreclose on them.
Brenda
Enjoyed the 60 Mins segment, particularly seeing you so happy in your paddock at Lane’s End. I wonder if your Mikey would think that Secretariat could have been a good enough date for you. I can hardly imagine what wonderful foals the two of you would have produced – the two greatest champions ever. I never saw you race except on TV and only saw Secretariat race live once, here in Canada, but I had the pleasure of meeting Secretariat and hope to one day be able to see you up close and personal. Have a good day Zenny and lots of love to you and the Team.

60 minutes got it right…”There is something Zeny about Zenyatta.” A tough competitor, yet there is a kindness in her that pulls at our hearts. Oh, Zeny, I miss you.
DJ
Good morning “Z” family. FYI: there are two WEB-EXTRAS about Zenyatta posted this morning on the 60 minutes website under 60 Minutes OT (overtime.) One is titled “Zenyatta, a horse with charisma” and the other is with John Shirreffs titled “Working at the stable.” They are both very sweet, of course! The two boxes on under the main screen.
DJ
You can google 60 minutes Overtime and type in Zenyatta. Both of the extras are featured.
Lauren
Dear Zenny – It was a beautiful piece about you on 60 Minutes last night. Living in the New York area, I was able to see the whole piece. YOU looked so cute at your yearling sale – so full of life. Hope you are having a blessed day beautiful girl. xoxoxo GO LAKERS!!!
Abigail from Montreal
In Canada, 60 Minutes wasn’t interrupted…we only heard the Obama announcement at about midnight here.
So, Miss Zenny — someone sure shined you up for the 60 Minutes crew! It gave me a hearty laugh … beautiful as you looked, if they could only see you after a mud bath….LOL
Ann from Indiana
I haven’t been on for a few days, hubby is in ICU: had a brain biopsy on Thurs. and now he is wearing his Zenyatta hat since they shaved his head. Too cute. I was able to watch 60 min. and what a wonderful segment. They gave you a lot of air time. Saw your Mike and John and the rest of your family. Say a prayer for my husband Morris.

Oh! Zennie…after watching the 60 Minutes piece last night, I miss and love you more than ever…tears of joy and some of sadness took me over…the best part of the show for me was listening to Mike and John’s words of affection…how you are so loved and adored! You have created so much excitement and love for all of your fans and even though you are retired at Lane’s End, your presence prevails…when you do have your foal, how blessed he/she will be to have you as a mother that will give so much love, show so much grace and be an absolute symbol of beauty and strength. Thank you for giving us all of the wonderful times and more to come
We love you
Happy Kentucky Derby Week Everyone!!!

You were so great, Zen, on 60 Mins. yesterday, and I do hope there’s a Zen postage stamp like that gorgeous one above! Sort of funny, though, thinking of the speedy you on “snail” mail, no?
Will you and Bernie have another date this year or have I missed something?
Keeping my fingers and hooves crossed too for you always!
XOXO,
Laura

Dear Ensign:
Thanks for the info. I went to the Pedigree site and clicked Progeny for Life is Sweet to see if the her was named yet. He’s listed as Smart Life. The only thing that puzzled me was that they had him born in 2010. The colt was born this past March. Maybe just a typo. Judy B.
judy berube
PS: Meant to say “if her colt” was named yet. Talk about typos. Judy B.

Amazing how many believe in you as an inspriation to all. Kudos to you and your “people”. They have done a fantastic job making sure you are reconized for all of your achievements, which are so over the top.
Love, hugs and kisses gorgeous Z

you looked MARVELOUS DARLING JUST MARVELOUS

A couple of observations:
–disappointed with 60 Minute segment. Pretty much recycled video from last year with a few clips of her out in her paddock.
–i live on the east coast so the 60M segment wasn’t preempted, but wouldn’t have cared if it was. As much as I LOVE Z, it was a huge moment for many hearing the news of Osama. As gracious as Z is, I know she wouldn’t have minded.
–And lastly, it is my hope, that this site turns a corner (a bit). We need a little lightness. Yes, I recognize what Z means to people on here, especially in times of challenges or sadness, but it’s become a bit of a therapy session on here instead of about Z, horseracing and a place to learn. Some on here have taken hostage to Z’s site – with the daily double digit posters creating a clicky high school atmosphere.
–And please don’t preach to me (you know who you are) about the strength Z gives you during your personal struggles. EVERYONE on here is moving through life with struggles. No one on here is going to get any higher in heaven by admonishing others because YOU perceive them as insensitive because THEY don’t know your PAIN. The demonizing of others because their opinions differ from yours, reflects a lack of deep, reflective insightful thinking. Walk the steps you preach about the Mosses, Dottie, and Z. By being kind open and loving people to all on here, not just a few. Otherwise this site will die a slow death. People will quit posting (like many already have)and it will just become a personal journal to a select few.

@joyce
and your point is ???

I’m sure all of you not on the west coast heard a giant WHAT! Followed by a massive groan last night, coming from the west coast, as we were all glued to our T.V’s only to have 60 Minutes interrupted. I had invited myself to a friends house, and even convinced friend make dinner for me, so I could watch it on her huge screen. I know it’s important news, but I couldn’t help thinking, he would still have been dead 15 minutes later when 60 Minutes finished! Thanks to everyone who posted links for us to watch online. For those who say they can’t play it on their computer, pop into your local library if you are passing, you may be able to watch it on the library computers.
Also, sorry to keep reminding u of the same event, but I am volunteering at this event and want it to raise lots of $ for our precious TB’s. So, don’t forget So Cal, Trotts KY Derby Fundraising Party is at Santa Anita this coming Sat. You can bid on silent auction items by phone too. They have lots of great items used by TB’s and jockeys. Check on Trotts website for details. If you are in Louisville, don’t forget Old Friends has Ferdinands Ball on May 5. That looks like a fab. party too.

Dear Joyce:
John and the Moss’ have said many times that Z is kind. We should emulate and celebrate her here. Hugs, Judy B.
ENSIGN
@ judy berube,
.
Pedigree Query is a useful site for looking up a horse, but it can be edited by anyone so it’s not a trustworthy site for factual information. I suspect someone was having a little fun ‘creating’ foals and naming them : )
The Breeders Cup nominations verification site and Equineline will give you proper information.
.
@ Joyce,
.
Nice post and politley stated.
Judy
@Joyce, well said. Too many personal issues aired here.
Shari Voltz
@Ann I will pray for Morris. May God bless you both :)
judy berube
Dear Ensign:
Thank you. I will check out those sites.
Aaron
For Joyce – And WHO are you? Or should I ask rather WHO do you think you are?
Aaron
For you and others with issues on other people’s posts, have some insight and recognize that many are putting up with YOUR posts as well and not saying anything!
Aaron
– All four of your thoughts were negative. I would rather read from others whom you find fault with are positive.
Casey Laughter
when are you gonna see berni again Z?
i hope it is soon!

@Joyce
Second Ensign and others, very thoughtful and well said post.

Just watched the CBS video online I’m reminded of how special John Shireffs is…he deserved Zenyatta. A toast to you, John! (of Guinness, of course)
