Happy, Happy Thursday to Everyone!
This is a very exciting day for several reasons! First of all, I am getting some fun visitors from the 60 Minutes Crew! They did such a great segment on ME when I was at Barn 55. Their staff came and spent a complete week with John, MYSELF, and all of My Team. Now they are coming out to Lane’s End to get some current footage of ME for a follow-up piece. This will be fun!
My paddock mates and I will all be looking TOO CUTE for them! David has been speaking with their offices to help get it all organized. I’ll let you know when 60 Minutes is going to air this piece. I’ve heard…it could be this Sunday…but I’ll find out more once everyone is at the farm with ME!
On another note, I want to THANK ALL OF YOU FOR ASKING ABOUT ME in your comments and responses! At this moment, everything in my life is moving right along perfectly. I’m in terrific shape, extremely healthy and very happy. I’ll keep you posted as time goes along…but at this moment I could not be better! BLUSH, BLUSH!
Also, as the Kentucky Oaks is getting closer, my friend, ZAZU, looks like she will be coming to KY to participate in this race. She will work again over the weekend…and if all is A-OK, she will then be on the plane and coming for the OAKS. This also means I’ll get to spend some fun times with Ann, Jerry and Dottie. They will be coming to town. I’m so EXCITED!
As for the business side of ME, I have alerted NINA KAISER (our sculptor) to have #19 ready to go for Dawn Conrad, our contest winner. I know Dottie will be calling her soon to get all of the postal particulars so the BRONZED ME can be sent safely to her!
Whew! Now that I have taken care of my business matters for the day….I’m off to exercise and play in the paddock with my friends. YIPPEE!
Have a wonderful day!
With love,
Hugs to ALL~

Big Mama Z! Another 60 Minutes segment? AWESOME! I hope it is this Sunday (that would fall on my birthday!), but if not, I will be watching for it. I’ve been following your buddy Zazu and I hope she gets to The Oaks. That is SO exciting! Thanks for all of the great news. Sounds like you’re doing well! Glad to hear it! Love you and Team Z!

Good to hear from you again, Z! I am so excited to see your next 60 Minutes piece! I know quite a few of us have been wondering about it. :) I am happy that you are healthy and happy. Hopefully sometime we will hear that you are successfully in foal and will await a new sort of ‘little you’ to enter this world!
Love and miss you!
Tory
60 Minutes does not very often wax poetical, but they do about YOU. Can’t wait to see YOU again. It’s been too long, Zenny.
Neva Rae Powers
Great news! Can’t wait to hear when you plan to visit Bernie again.
Terry
Still anxiously awaiting news about a second date with Bernardini!
Nancy Bickford
Z…I have the feeling that you have visited Bernardini again. You say you are healthy and very happy, and you BLUSH when you say things couldn’t be better! Does that mean…I hope it means…that you dated Bernie again…and that you possibly, hopefully, may be in foal again? Oh, Zen, it’s just a feeling I get, but I hope to God is is true! Godspeed, our wonderful Zenyatta!
Robin
Thank you Zenny! We missed hearing from you. Just want you safe and healthy big girl!! Miss you in Cali!! MUAH!!
Alexandra Bowdoin
Dear Zenyatta, I am so excited that the 60 Minutes Crew is doing a follow up on you. I did buy the DVD from the first visit, so another DVD of you but at LEF this time will be great! I hope the weather is ok where you are?? I worry with all these BIG STORMS popping up in the Southern States. Yes, I am hoping that Zazu will run in the Oaks, she is a very nice filly…Have fun in your paddock with your gal pals and I hope the 60 Minutes crew gets some film of you running and bucking and playing in your paddock!!!
Debi
You look fabulous Zennie! And I am terrifically excited about a new 60 Minutes piece, you’re such a charmer, I’m sure you won them over so much on the 1st run that they had to return!!!
Louise Hoit
I am so happy to hear that you are doing well. I miss you so much! The races aren’t just the same without you in them.
Abigail from Montreal
Hi everyone, especially my sweet Zenny and her “ghost writer,” Dottie. I’m certainly no authority on the latest Zenny news but because so many were asking I thought I’d just add that several posts back (I think before the contest started, but around the time of Mr. Commons’ last race) Dottie was interviewed by HRTV or TVG and said that they (the Mosses & Shirreffs) were going to let the good people @ Lane’s End “take care of things” re: second date for Zenyatta & Bernie. During discussion about that quote, several people said they thought that the Queen would only share her news once she’d passed the critical 45-day mark. Is this still the current wisdom?
Love the photo….I always miss seeing you so much, Zenny. But I’m so happy to hear that you’re healthy, happy & hangin’ out with the posse!!!
Mary
Zenyatta, Fabulous to hear you are feeling great and Blushing. Must be the blue grass of Kentucky. Happy your Team and family is coming to visit. I am so excited to see the 60 min. And, how fun;
KY Oaks, and KY Derby, how exciting for us horseracing fans. Love ya, Hugs and Prayers

So very glad to hear from you and see your lovely picture! Glad your doing good and can’t wait to see the 60 minutes piece. We love you so much and want happiness and good health for you as long as you are here on earth!
Paula Higgins
Amanda in Alabama please check in, I am very worried about you.
I am so excited that 60 minutes is doing another piece on Zenyatta! They did a first rate job on the first episode.
o.k. ladies and gentleman this is a guess, but could the “blush, blush” mean she is in foal?? I am thinking yes. Keep our fingers and hooves crossed. Again, I am so glad that Kentucky was not hit yesterday.
Janine
@ Abigail, I think that makes sense, and is what I would do. I was surprised at everyone’s reactions to zenyatta being “in foal” just because she tested pregnant at the 2 week mark. A lot of people expressed great sadness for her “losing” her foal (she didn’t technically LOSE the foal or have a miscarriage though) so the connections might want to wait for more solid good news before sharing. Maybe! :)

So happy you are doing so well….sweet dreams dear one.
Elizabeth
@Abigail: That’s my opinion on the situation, to be sure! :) My parents, after one miscarriage, waited till 3 months to tell us other kids the next time they got pregnant so that we wouldn’t be disappointed again. That’s probably what Zen’s folks are doing for us. :)
Leslie
i think that’s EXACTLY what Z means! I think for sure she has visited Bernie again and so far, everything is good. Having been through this myself many times, it is best to wait until they know everything is OK. Congrats in advance, Z!
Kathy Baldwin
60 Minutes again, SWEET! And best of luck
to ZAZU!
Loads of love to you Zenny and all of your
“Connections”!

You have us all wondering now Z…
What a fabulous horse you are, I’m sure your babies will be just as fabulous. :)

Zeny, so happy to hear you are doing well. I kept on watching the weather forecast in KY. What great news on 60 minutes. Can’t wait to see you and watch the show. I will definitley get a copy of the show as I have the first one. I am so excited for Zazu. I saw her win her race at Santa Anita. Take care and love and hugs to you! Marilu

Hi Zenny, I’m excited for you about the 60 munites. Please be sure to let us know for sure when it will be shown. I am still in wonderment regarding you and Bernardini and if you will visit him agaun soon or will it be next year. Many of my friends also are wondering what is going to happen with that. Glag you are well and I am happy to know you will be getting visitors from Cali. soon. It makes me feel good when the Moss’s come by to visit you. I would visit you every day if there was a way to do so. I think of you always so that will have to do. Have fun running and playing in the paddock. Love you Zenyatta.
Marion

Zenyatta,
You look gorgeous as usual. Looks like you are enjoying your Yummy blue grass. So many exciting things to watch on TV. The Royal Wedding, the last voyage of the Shuttle Endeavour, 60 Minutes, The Derby. PHEW!!! Keep Happy & Healthy Big Mama :) Love & Kisses from Houston.
@ Joyce. Hi :)
Linda
Sweet Zenny, you have such a fun life and all those that love you! Good luck and Blessings to ZAZU (what a cool name) and I know you will be cheering ZAZU on! I know I will. Hugs.

Yes, I’m sure they meant that Lane’s End would announce when Zenyatta had passed the 45 day mark with a pregnancy and probably not before. She didn’t really ‘lose’ a foal, since it was no bigger than a pea (if that) when it was announced before, but would have just re-absorbed it. No reason why she couldn’t have been bred back right away as soon as she was in season. I’m sure she was. We’ll know when the world knows! Good luck, Zen!

So glad to be hearing from you again. I’m always checking to get my “Zenyatta” fix. Aren’t you a lucky horse – to have such a devoted following! Looking sooo forward to the second 60 Minutes piece. Don’t eat too much grass and be careful of the slippery spots in the paddock!
Edie Dickenson
Oh, Zenyatta, I do love you so!
Trisha Veazey
Look at you gorgeous Z in that lush KY blue grass. Is it as good as it looks? Another 60 minutes? WOW! How special is that? Can’t get enought of our special girl. Are you having a manicure, facial and your hair styled? Gotta get ready for the camera.
Love, hugs and kisses

Maybe Zenyatta could get on Tex’s plane and fly home to be boarded at a good California farm….with no rain and tornadoes! There’s a lot to be said for warm weather, sunshine, and family. If I was Ann, I’d be looking for a green pasture closer to home.
