Happy Wednesday, Everyone!
This is TOO CUTE! Here are my 2 very special friends, Carmen and Michelle, drawing the SWEET SIXTEEN cards. These people will advance to the next level of the ZENYATTA BRONZE CONTEST! I must say, I just love the fact that I’m dancing right over Carmen’s shoulder while all of this is happening! I feel like I’m really participating in all of these activities right along with YOU and my BARN 55 Friends!
As you can see, these girls are really following directions. Carmen has her head turned away from the bucket and Michelle’s eyes are closed tight. Each one drew out 8 cards. What FUN! And, of course, there was NO PEEKING!

@Dawn Conrad-Congratulations!!!! I am as excited for you as if I were still in it myself!!! I was holding my breath when I looked at the names!! It is great to see many familiar names from the site still in it–good luck to all!!
This contest was a marvelous idea–such fun for everyone,even those whose cards did not become part of the first 64. It will be fun to see what the team may do with all the messages. I do hope that some of them might sometime actually be read to Queen Z!!
Mrs. Moss’s photo surely was amazing–loved the round rainbow-sure have never seen THAT before. It really is a photo worthy of being entered in some contest for a award.
Have a great day with your friends,most precious Z. I love picturing you hanging out with “the girls” and just being happy with the sun on your back and a soft breeze blowing just enough to make your beautiful ears stand up in anticipation of what exciting thing might be happening next11 Love you,beautiful!!

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a card in to the contest but I want to extend my best wishes to everyone still in the running (a term you are familiar with). Good luck everyone. Also, Zenny, since you are a California girl at heart, please root for the Lakers. Keep smiling beautiful girl. Hugs and Kisses xoxoxo

Dearest, Zenyatta. HOW FANTASTIC!!!!!! I am still in the running. I closed my eyes, scrolled down and magically there my name was. I can’t tell you how happy I am, Zenny. It was great to see Carmen and Michelle drawing the names. Michelle was “too cute” with her eyes closed. I am glad that you feel like you are there helping, Zenny, I love you so much that it just makes it extra special. Congratulations to all of the other Sweet Sixteen. Good luck to everyone!! Thanks again to all that are making this possible. :) :) :) Hope you are having a beautiful day, Zenny. Talk to you again soon. Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO

Dear Anna, Thank you for sharing. I am sorry for your friends’s loss of that sweet little foal, and equally sad for the Mare. Perhaps her care-takers will provide her with some extra love and attention to help fill her void over the next several months. Blessings to you and you may wish to give your friend the “Rainbow Bridge” gift.
Donna
Congratulations to the new winners.
@Regina
@Trina
@Sally
Thank you so much for your kind words I really appreciate it.

@Georgina,
Its been explained numerous times that LEF does not do public tours during their breeding season. This is also on their website that they do not do tours during the breeding season.
.
Tours involving the broodmares is NOT the norm for big commercial farms like LEF. There is TOO MUCH RISK of an airborn disease being carried from one farm to another. It takes only a hint of a herpes virus or other virus to cause a mare to abort. This doesn’t even get into the logistical nightmare that would be constantly bringing Zenyatta in from her paddock buddies to be shown off.
.
Remember the mares Zenyatta goes out with are not owned by the Mosses and if those owners were to not give permission for their mares to be ‘shown off’ as part of the tour, that means Zenyatta has to be pulled from her field, cleaned up and paraded around. This would be a constant disturbance for her at a time when she needs to be as stress free as possible.
.
This has been asked before and I’ll just put it out there again. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP CALLING LANES END FARM. NOTHING, IF ANYTHING, is going to happen in the terms of access to Zenyatta until after JULY.
.
Lanes End is not doing this to be mean to her fans. They are doing what is necessary for her health, her potential journey to motherhood and also the health and welfare of the many, MANY other mares and foals entrusted to their care.

Congrats to everyone still in the contest! Good luck!!! :D

P.S.
Congratulations to the Sweet Sixteen! Not long now till the winner is announced. :)
Bridget
Rooting for you Thomas as a fellow NYer!
Bridget
L.S., if there is such a risk of infection of the mares, then why did they let people visit Rachel???
Diana.A
good luck to all
L.S.
@Bridget
Rachel is on Jess Jackson’s PRIVATE nursery. The only owner taking a risk is Jackson himself.
.
LEF is a large commercial operation answerable to MULTIPLE owners. It’s not just the Mosses taking a risk with their mare, its a risk to every broodmare owner on the farm. I would assume LEF would have to AT LEAST show due diligence in contacting every owner with any tour plans and give them the option of moving their mares if they felt the risk was too great.
.
Stonestreet is small and does not stand stallions, thus they are not juggling breeding season and staff stretched to the max. This means more people available to help ensure order and adherence to the rules.
.
LEF has an excellent staff who is right now up to their elbows with 17 stallions holding court, foals hitting the ground and mares being monitored and bred.

I’ve got to cheer for #4! Boerne is a neighboring community and there’s not many out here in rural Texas!

We still have 2 from Texas – Good Luck
I watched the 2009 BC race a few days ago & it is still so exciting to see you coming thru & getting to the finish line!! What a team you & Mikey were! You knew how to just about give your fans a heart attack AND then get up there to win!! WOW – you’ve left some big hoof prints on my heart – thank you for the memories =) …

Dmama
True….. to visit with the Queen would be WONDERFUL, but this site and these wonderful posts with pictures keep everyone a part of all events & details. This makes me very happy :-) And I am glad LEF is protecting her.
Karen Mitchell
Dear Zenny and all of Team Z and especially Carmen and Michelle. I’m like a ten year old girl in a 70 year old body, so excited to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. Thank you so much for picking my card and I truly wish the other fifteen good luck. At this point, we are all winners, as is everyone on this fantastic list of Zenyatte lovers. All the posted pictures are fantastic, especially Ann’s picture of her own plane, circled by a rainbow, reflected back into her camera. It is right up there with the beautiful sunset picture with the Z flashing across the sky, which will always be in my mind’s eye. As with others who have posted above, I am almost too excited to type.
@Nancy Freeman, fellow Berkeleyan, thanks so much for your support. Berkeley is a special place, a state of mind and I’m glad you are on this fabulous list.
@Dawn Conrad – can you believe we are still in this together? As Z might say, it is just TOO CUTE. All the best of luck to you, sister.
And again, now that we are down to sixteen, I find myself rooting for all of us.
victoria racimo
congrats to all and best wishes for something else doown the line for all who didn’t make it this time — and actually for all the Z fans — WE ARE ALL WINNERS BECAUSE WE SHARE LOVING ZENYATTA! We are already winners!
The other thing I want to say is I love that we not only post our comments, reactions, etc. but it’s clear that we all really read and often respond to the comments. this is heartwarming and comforting. As I said, WE ARE ALL WINNERS BECAUSE OF Z AND HER TEAM!! Rock on!
Karen Mitchell
@Dawn Conrad – I should have said “little sister” because you are still in your wonderful 50’s. Take care.
susan
wow, zenyatta- how lucky are we? team z cared enough to have this incredible contest and then carmen and michelle take time from their busy day to draw cards and THEN, as if this weren’t enough, JOHN takes a great picture and someone(dottie?) posts it for all of us to see! zenny, your story is a love story.thank you!! have a great day in the kentucky bluegrass! good luck to everyone still in!
