Happy Saturday Everyone!
Springtime is in the air and everything is getting so busy. It is a very exciting time in Lexington now as Keeneland opened yesterday for their race meet. I never ran at this race track, but my dear Barn 55 Friend, HARMONIOUS, won the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Race here last fall. It is a very special time and everyone LOVES to go RACING in this town!
Today, Kentucky Derby Preps are taking place in New York, Illinois, and California. My friend, MR. COMMONS, is running in the Santa Anita Derby this afternoon. His stall was just 3 down from mine when I was at Barn 55…so I’m wishing him all the best! HOOVES CROSSED…for sure!
We also have the update for our contest! Isabelle and Cheva, 2 of my very special friends, drew the names out of the bucket for us! As you can see in the photo above, they are in the barn office at Hollywood Park. Oh, there are lots of photos of ME all around. Now this is TOO CUTE! Ensign so glad to see you back. Don’t know if you know, but are you familiar with any of the farms in Ocala Fl, area. Do you know of any good ones that would let you visit this time of year (breeding Season and all.) I am going for the sale the first of next week and thought it would be nice to go to one of the farms if I have time. Love to you Zenny and sweet dreams. Peggy
S (in san diego)
@Thanks Valerie, the news is now out and we are all excited.
@Ensign, I agree that you have been missed theses past few post. Glad your back. Happy Monday Everyone. And just to add to the comments about Uncle Mo. There have been several conflicting media reports, but I will go with the trainer:) I certainly hope Mo is ok and will make the run for the Roses along with Mr Commons and Comma to the Top, Dialed in and many more. Sweet dreams everyone and God Bless.
Vicki B.
@Ensign, I’m glad to see you back, I had wondered why you had disappeared, since about #204 — glad to hear you were just busy elsewhere. And I’m sorry your “welcome back” apparently hasn’t been wholehearted. I think that’s a shame, I hope you stay anyway, and can ignore any craziness.

Regarding Mo, Caton Breder just made a comment in Night School that Mo had made a growth spurt, noticeably taller but not yet filled out, between the Timely Writer and the Wood Memorial. Could explain his seeming out of condition – growing pains of the adolescent male horse. I have long wished the Triple Crown races were later in the year, give the babies a chance to develop a little more. Thank goodness Zenny wasn’t involved in all that, and look how well she matured <3

Many thanks to Dani for posting the link to the great new photos of Mr..Commons, Mike Smith, the Sherriffs, Green Cat, etc. at Santa Anita. You can see some sweet old shots of Zenny too! http://www.facebook.com/Backside55
@Jane–I agree with you that it would be much better to let the horses mature more before holding the Triple Crown.

Sweet dreams (or good morning?) to all. Hopefully Z gives a new post tomorrow! She is SO CUTE. <3

Not everyone on this site is a fan of yours and that has been going on since you started on this site in December 2010.
You are an egotistical, self-centered narcarcist and have driven many people off this site.
As has been stated earlier, if there were more men on this site all the rescuing would not be going on and your manipulative
disappearances would be ignored.
There are many more kind people who have not posted recently like L, Lizzy etc that no one has addressed and requested to come back or kept track (#204) of when they went off the site.
GO BACK TO THE BREEDING SHED WHERE YOU BELONG YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF Z you just like to give the facts and be a pompus jerk.

Dear Zenny,
Sweet Dreams and happy ovulating as sign of the times said.
Enjoy your pears, carrots and peppermints. Roll in the mud and
relax and enjoy your days in the pature You look soooo peaceful and happy.

Looked at Mo’s site tonight he is sooo cute. There is a picture of him laying down completely in his stall. It is TOO CUTE !!!
I really love that horse even if he does not win the derby there is always the Breeders Cup Classic. I guess having the 3 year
olds endure this treacherous derby trail is all a part of growing up for them. I think three has caught up with MO. Who cares
he is soooo cute and soooo is Maria. They text all day.
TOOOO CUTE !!!!!!!!

Yes, one of the commentators on HRTV before the race made
a comment that he looked like he had filled out some and it does make sense that he would be “legless and tired, blowing” after the
race if he has that much more muscle mass. Poor guy.
I still love him. He is TOO CUTE and soo Talented. His owner
Mike Repole is a very classy guy. He too the loss in stride.
This weekend of racing sure be exciting. I ditto others comments of safety for all the horses. It would be nice if the
Triple Crown were at 4, but I guess it is more of challenge for everyone at 3.

@Margaret! Thank you for explaining the time it takes for foaling to us. It’s greatly appreciated. When the time is right, everything will go well and fall into place for our dear Zenyatta.
We love you Zeny! Hugs, Marilu

@ notafanofensign – you are a mean person and a coward to hide behind a fake name. How about you grow up and stop it- maybe nobody wants YOU on this site- are you really a fan? Or just a big bully?
Gloria Jeanne
@ notafanofensign – you ard mean person and a coward for hiding behind a made up user name. You a big ugly bully- are you even a true fan?
No wonder why some people have stopped posting here- it’s not always a happy place. Hhhm wonder who you could be . . . Be nice
Gloria Jeanne
Hacker’s on this site is just crazy
talk.

I posted a nice photo of John and Dottie on Zen’s FB. What would we do without them, especially Dottie. The amount of time and thought she puts into each diary posting in the midst of her busy schedule shows what a genuine and caring person she is. That she cares so much about Zenyatta’s fans and truly understands how much Zenyatta continues to affect and influence our lives really underscores Dottie’s kindness and concern for us as fans. You don’t often find that in people. Especially in this unique kind of situation. We all love you and adore you Dottie and our appreciation knows no bounds. Many thanks to you and John. And Sophie, because you are so cute, you get high paws too!!

Morning Lady Z, just visited with Rachel and she wants a cupcake! :) :)
For those of us on the Mo train, from a good source (Cousin Thirsty), Mo will be coming down to Churchill on 18Apr11, they both will be lodging at Barn 34. Mo only had one loss, and it wasn’t as bad as many choose to make it out to be. No, he didn’t accelerate coming off the turn, (that alone should have told you something wasn’t quite right), now whether it was because of a growth spurt, quarter grab/clip, or whatever ‘armchair trainers’ what to call it. He finished third (so what, yes my money was on him too!), that’s the chance we take when placing a bet. That little colt was still in the game, and he didn’t punk out. Now for those who don’t like Uncle Mo that’s okay, you have the right to your choice for Derby winner, and I wish the best for every horse and pray that they all come home safe and sound. But, whether professional sportsman/writer or horseracing fan, we don’t have the right to publish false accusations/unconfirmed rumors in order to denigrate another horse. Remember, they said ugly things about Big Red, Seattle Slew, Citation, Affirmed and Alydar and Spectacular Bid, but ohhhh look what they accomplished. They even said ugly things about the Queen, and some still are, but look at her now! I say, let the race be run and the best horse (that day) win!!!! There is only ONE undefeated Triple Crown Winner and that is Seattle Slew, and still to this day, he doesn’t get the respect that he deserves. But the fact is, that he is STILL the only one. I’ve been following the majority of the Top fifteen Derby prospects on their facebook pages (and it’s quite a lot of fun to do), and they all are trying to emulate Lady Z in comradeship and supporting one another in gamesmanship, maybe we do well to do the same! ;) :) :)

Hi, Z, hope this day is a happy and wonderful one for you, as always.
This is a wonderful site and support for each poster is seriously great to read and admire. Here we can speak with admiration of what we enjoy and then maybe we can ignore the rest. As the old song goes, let’s Accentuate the positive and Eliminate the negative! Love to all, particularly you, dearest Queen Z, and best of luck to the lucky 32.
As always, wishing good health to all Triple Crown (and other) competitors.
Cindy from LA
@Valerie Cannon
Very well said. Mo is awesome and so are all his connections !!!! Good luck and healt to all the Triple Crown contendors !!!
Dear Zenny,
Have a wonderful day eating carrots, pears and peppermints,
rolling in the mud and lazing in the sun. Hope it is sunny in
KY.

@Valeria well said. I am a Mo fan. I get a good feeling from him. Queen Z has started something. Mo has a cute site. I have posted on it a couple of times. I really don’t know what I am doing as far as bets and such, but Mo pulled at my heart and that is why I like him. I hope he wins the Derby. My first love when I was 12 was Secretariat and I love Zenyatta as if she was a part of my family. I think Mo has something about him. I try not to read the negetive things people say. Why they do it is beyond me. Have a good day :) Shari

Hmmmm. @notafanofensign sounds just like “luvhorses” that was slamming ensign and then just disappeared (thankfully). Looks like that person is back with a new name. Notafanofensign or luvhorses or whoever you are, you are entitled to your opinion just as everyone else is but what you are NOT entitled to is to tell anyone to get off of this site. You simply don’t have that power here. You also don’t have the position of questioning anyone on this site that looks for another poster. If you don’t like Ensign, then just don’t read that person’s posts. It’s that simple.
Donna
@ENSiGN I do not post on here very often but I am glad to see that you are back, jealousy is not a very good trait in human beings.
I appreciate your knowledge and your matter of fact comments.
There are some wonderful people on this site that is why I visit every day.
I had a beautiful filly in training recently but she broke her leg on the track, she was my Z dream but sadly she did not make it, I was devastated
That is why I come here as everyone has experienced loss and it gives me comfort.
LauraJ
@Shari Voltz, there are two Columbus-area Dobe rescues: Hand-Me-Down Dobes and Northcoast Doberman Rescue. Daniel is from Northcoast. It’s run by a friend of mine. He got loose from his home and was picked up as a stray. His owners were found but didn’t want to pay the fee to bail him out of doggie jail, so he went to rescue. He is very unusual looking. He attracts a ton of attention when we go out. People always want to know what he is.

@Ensign, welcome back! I figured you were busy, busy, busy! Hope all your mares and babies are doing well. Did you see the pictures of Life Is Sweet’s new colt a few posts back?

@L.S., missing you too!
Gloria Jeanne
@ ENSIGN – Don’t let ANYONE on this site upset you enough to leave Zenyatta Land.
I like your insite :-)
Many people enjoy what you have to say.
Please stay- it seems only ONE person is attacking you!!
Jan Doyle
I to don’t post alot, but I do read most of the postings everyday. I love Zenyatta so much and love to hear from all the loving people that do post everyday. I welcome you back Ensign, have certainly missed you. As far as a few that seem to have a problem, perhaps they themselves need to make a trip to the breeding shed and have their attitude adjusted.. Again WELCOME BACK ENSIGN!
Regina From NJ
@Ensign: Please contribute more frequently! Your facts and contributions are always interesting and very welcomed. Glad to see you here again.
Hello Zenyatta: Are your hooves crossed for the lucky 32? Yea! See you later.xoxoxo

Foo..didn’t make the cut to 32 but Thanks to the cheers from fellow San Diegans! The statue would have been great but what I REALLY wanted was Zenyatta herself in my yard (tee hee). Anyway, my bunnies want to wish Z a Happy Easter and are planning to dump a ton of peppermints in her basket!

Hi Z!
I’ve been trying to find out where I can get a simple baseball cap, black with your colors for the wording, for a special former trainer who ADORES you, who is 85 years old. Please Z, ask Dottie and John where I can get one!
DJ
Good morning “Sweet Z”,
Will check back later to hopefully here from you!
@Martha…Breederscup.com has a black baseball cap with her colors that read “Horse of the Year” – very nice too. Just click on to their store site.
