Happy Saturday Everyone!
Springtime is in the air and everything is getting so busy. It is a very exciting time in Lexington now as Keeneland opened yesterday for their race meet. I never ran at this race track, but my dear Barn 55 Friend, HARMONIOUS, won the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Race here last fall. It is a very special time and everyone LOVES to go RACING in this town!
Today, Kentucky Derby Preps are taking place in New York, Illinois, and California. My friend, MR. COMMONS, is running in the Santa Anita Derby this afternoon. His stall was just 3 down from mine when I was at Barn 55…so I’m wishing him all the best! HOOVES CROSSED…for sure!
We also have the update for our contest! Isabelle and Cheva, 2 of my very special friends, drew the names out of the bucket for us! As you can see in the photo above, they are in the barn office at Hollywood Park. Oh, there are lots of photos of ME all around. Now this is TOO CUTE! The bucket we used for this drawing is on the desk. All 64 of the cards from Wednesday’s winners were placed in this bucket, mixed up again and again…and the drawing began!

YAY DAWN!!!!!!!!! Go girl—hooves crossed for you in the “sweet sixteen”!!So sorry Amanda did not make it to the next level!! It’s fun to see so many regular posters in! Good luck to all.
We have NO racing channels on our cable system here–big bummer!! At least the Triple Crown is on the networks and Breeders Cup is shown here, but I am so envious of those who get to watch so many races.

@Shari Volz. my three are as follows: Daniel is maybe 5, cropped/docked, albino. He has blue eyes, a biscuit-colored coat, and white markings. He is quite striking and attracts a great deal of attention when we are out and about. Ben is in double digits (10 or 11 probably). He is black, with a docked tail and cropped-but-flopped ears. He’s a big boy but as sweet as they come. Daniel picks on him, so he has his own room. Eve is my newest one. I’ve had her for a few weeks. She is black with a docked tail and natural ears that fold back like a greyhound’s. Her front feet did not develop properly and they look strange, but she does not know that there is anything different about them. She is about 3. Daniel and she are best buddies and playmates. All three were strays, so their ages are guesses. Daniel is from a Columbus-area Doberman rescue and Ben and Eve are from the local Southwestern-Ohio rescue. I’m also a volunteer there.

@ENSIGN, I miss you too! I hope you’re just busy.

@Shari, Oops, I see I managed to misspell your name twice. My apologies.

It is comforting how connected we are…missed ENSIGN’s Posts as well and noticed the void left several days ago. Blessings to you “E”.

We’re waiting for news of the sweet sixteen winners…hope it comes “soon”.

Congratulations to the 32 still in the drawing. We’ll root for Dawn since we live in CO too. The races on Saturday were exciting and we’re glad Uncle Mo’s injury was minor!
Heidi Kruckenberg
I hope you had a wonderful weekend Zenny and that you got to watch some races. I am so excited, I can’t wait for the sweet 16 picks. Keeping my fingers crossed and good luck everyone! :)
Ps… Don’t you have a date this weekend with that hunk of a stallion: Bernie?
Joan
Hi Z,
Well I finnally got to see “The Great Race Place” this weekend. That’s right, I flew all the way from Texas to Derby weekend. I spoke with your John, saw Dottie, but didn’t get a chance to talk with her. Well Mr. Commons was not the winner but he looked like a winner, beautiful. You know your John has a way of conditioning that really has his horses looking healthy and fit on the track.Of course Mario and all the others have a LOT to do with it too. Mike looked great too.
Good luck to the sweet 16.
Love ya Z. Miss seeing you so much, but I’ll get over it.
Love Ya Z.

My dear Zenyatta,I want to thank you for remind me about Mr Commons, because with all the excitement about all the races, I forgot about him. Well he is not you, I bet on him and I won, I lost with Uncle Mo, I cried, but as long as he is not hurt, is okay, I think he is going to win the Kentucky Derby, or Maybe Mr Commons?
I love you, enjoy your spring weather.
Ingrid from SoBe.

I didn’t make the second drawing, but just being in the first 64 makes me a winner and proud to have been a part of it. Good luck to the remaining 32.

It is Monday Z; I miss you and love you!! And I sure don’t mean to say that I am impatient from hearing from you. I just love you that’s all.
love with a kiss on your soft nose

Let’s all support Zenny/Dottie in giving us information
First hand on Zenny’s ovulation status. I am not sure
She is in season yet. I don’t think she needs any horse whisperer.
Zenny is the most happy healthy body mind and spirited
horse there is. She just needs to come into season.
DOTTIE and ZENNY WILL KEEP US POSTED AS
THEY ALWAYS WILL
“Inside information” is often incorrect and corresponds to gossip.
All the irrelevant talk about Mo from a hacker on this site.
WE ARE SO LUCKY TO GET THE TRUTH FROM THE HORSES
MOUTH !!!!
Mo being off the trail is from some hacker on this site

Hi Queen Zenyatta I hope you didn’t get to wet today. I could not walk my dogs after PT because of the rain. Today in school during Pride class my children wanted to color pictures for Mrs. Moss instead of reading and doing test practice. I had to tell them that you Miss Zenyatta wanted them to pass the test and they could color the pictures after lessons. They are cute. It is hard to get angry with them. They love to color and draw. I am sure when I was 10 I wanted to color rather than do my school work :) Well sweet girl I hope you have a good night and I hope we have better weather tomorrow. I have to get ready for school. I love you sweet girl. Hugs and Kisses from Shari XXXOOO
@Hi Dawn keeping my fingers, toes and all our paws crossed :)
@Laura your furbabies sound beautiful. I would love to see them especially Daniel. My Miesha is black and tan. She came from Martinsferry, Ohio. I would love to have another Dob. I never knew that the Columbus area had a rescue. Columbus is only 2 1/2 hours from my house. Right now we can’t afford another furbaby. My husband was layed off for 2 years and just got another job. Miesha requires a lot of meds. She is on a couple of different meds for her health issues. I think because of how she was raised before we got her.

Hi Zenny: Hope you are doing well. Well Zenny there is a lot of chatter over this weekend at the races. I thought your former neighbor; Mr. Commons ran a fantastic race! Do you know if he will enter in the Kentucky Derby? These next several weeks will be very exciting!
@ Joan: That must have been great fun to fly up to see the Santa Anita Derby. I bet the Santa Anita track is beautiful. I watched the Derby on HRTV. One of the cameras had a shot of John looking through his binoculars, and you just got a glimpse of Dottie. It appeared to be a very exciting race.
@Dani: Hey thanks for letting us know about the photos!

Greetings all,
.
I haven’t been to the site in weeks and was surprised to see my ‘name’ mentioned here. You’re very kind. I’ve been fine….just busy! :-)
.
Re: Signofthetimes above,
.
I didn’t read all the reponses but whatever was said about Mo being out of the Derby isn’t the work of some ‘hacker’. It was actually stated by Joanne Jones of HRTV yesterday who said ‘her source’ said he was out. Insofar as most of us know he just grabbed a quarter and hopefully all else is well. More rumour than ‘hacker’.
.
I suspect there will be an announcement any time on here as well ;-) Rumour nor hack intended…
.
To The Kennedys,
.
I’ve not been on here so not sure how long you’ve been back, but I trust the vacation went well? Good to see you back.
.
My congradulations to all who were drawn for the postcard contest/statue as well :-)
Trina Nagele
@ENSIGN–Glad to see you back and to hear that you’re OK.
@Barbara Wood– Hope you’ll be back soon too.

What a wonderful treat! Little prayers were heard…so nice to hear from you again Ensign.

@Ensign: I was just thinking that we hadn’t seen a post from you in quite awhile. Glad you’re back and everything is okay.

Dear Zenyatta, I still love the horses and racing but it is not the same as hearing about you. I am so thankful for this website and for Dottie.
I used to be a teacher for 34 years and my grand niece and nephew ages 9 and 5 came to my house here on the island yesterday and they spotted your photos on my kitchen cabinets. I explained who you are and showed them the 20/20 special disc my daughter bought for me and also my Zenyatta T-shirt and Christmas Tree Ornament. I know they are only symbols but especially they loved seeing the 20/20 show where you were so gentle to the children. They think you are so beautiful. I told them about your exciting future and about Bernardini and they want me to write them with any news of you. I don’t think they use a computer yet except at school. I am going to send them a copy of Bloodhorse’s Commemorative Booklet. I think you will continue to inspire adults and children as well.
When I was very young, Citation was an inspiration to me but now that I am old I treasure you as my inspiration and my new hero. I collect Horse Biographies and read them all and hope yours will soon be written. karen

Please read all the posts. A poster named Jim
Put it on this site and the statement you are quoting
Was not even made at the time of the post. And bloodhorse
Had refuted whatever statement you are
talking about quickly. Please educate yourself before
Commenting !!!!!!!

@ Signofthetimes,
.
Good grief…..thanks for the reminder that my break was a good thing…
.
I’m not talking about anything the BH reported and then retracted. I said Joanne Jones stated on HRTV what was apparently posted somewhere above. I don’t have the time to read every post here, I’m sorry. No one right now is saying Mo is out of the Derby but it was publically stated (prematurely obviously) on HRTV as ‘source’ news.

@ Trina, Linda et all,
.
Thanks for the kind thoughts : )

@Signofthetimes–Please, let’s have more of that civility that this site is famous for. I don’t think anybody should feel that they have to read all of the posts before commenting. Ensign won’t want to stay around with a comment like that.
@Ensign–Thanks for your remarks–they sounded informative and right on to me.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, How are you doing? I hope you had a fun day with your gal pals. When I hear of all the horses that have had health problems in the races so far, I think of how forunate we are to have you healthy & sound after your racing career. Zenyatta, I always just stand in awe when I see your races but when I read them collectively in an article it is just mind blowing to think of all your accomplishments & for you to be so amazingly sound. John trained you just perfect! I wish the other trainers could learn from him and not push the horses to race too early. I love you, Zenyatta, for all the many reasons that make you so special to
me. Angels do come in all shapes, sizes & forms. Angels speak if we take the time to listen. Zenyatta, you came as a supernatural life force and by you being so special, you draw people to you and we listen to you. Zenyatta, you can see by your site how much people love you and through that love we have come to know & care about each other. I love this site and reading all the posts. It’s always the last thing I do at night. I think that speaks about the power you have. I hope you sleep well. I always include you in my prayers at night for your safety & health.
Sending hugs & Kisses To You From Alabama With Love, Amanda Gilliland
@Trina- THANKS for your kind words.
@Ensign- Welcome back!
Congratulaions & Good luck to the 32!

Let’s point out that this site has been kind and caring since
Ensign reared his arrogant head. Facts and ideas
Are far from feelings and there is one person on this site
Who has none. I suggest that you enjoy those facts and
Those of us who enjoy feelings chose to ignore arrogance
And self-centeredness. Commenting inappropriately should
Be addressed. Please notice this all began tonight and
Has not been going on all the past weeks. Take your
Blinkers off and see things as the are. Facts without a heart.
Zenyatta has a very big heart !!!!!!!

Dear Zenny
We love you for your great heart and caring for
All people and things. Hope you had a great day
With your BBF in the paddock. Sweet dreams and
