Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday the drawing of the 64 names took place in my stall at Barn 55. Steve and Mario each drew 32 names from the big tubs. Before this, we put ALL of the cards into these tubs and mixed them around and separated stacks of them at a time like you would a deck of cards. Then Steve further stirred and mixed them over and over again by transferring them from one big bucket to another and shaking them around. He poured 1/2 the cards into one tub and the rest remained in the 2nd container. This took quite a bit of time, as we wanted to be sure all of the cards were separated properly.
After this, Steve and Mario went into my stall to get ready to draw the cards. They turned their heads (NO PEEKING) and each drew out 32 postcards. John took the photos!

We will draw the 32 on FRIDAY from this group of 64. Those names will be posted on Saturday morning!
Good LUCK to All!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

PS…So sorry I could not post the names yesterday afternoon as we originally stated. They are just completing the painting of John’s office at the house…and all of the computers were covered up late yesterday and Dottie could not use them. Painting will be done soon! (YEAH…then John can hang up some great photos of ME again!) Thank you for your patience and for being so understanding!
KIMBERLY
Hi Queen, I love the way your stall has been made into a Z shrine!!! I’m sure they all MISS you soooooo much!!!
Delrene
Congratulations to all 64. How fun is this contest? Almost as much fun as watching Zenyatta race. I have to go with my home state of California semi-finalists and the one from Vista, Ca one city over from Carlsbad, Ca.
I’m as excited as if it were me in the running. Thanks for the great link to the Bloodhorse website for Zenyatta’s birthday party.
Now, I hope John is having his office painted in Zenyatta pink ! Not- he’s a guy. But one can think pink for sure.
Team Z – Thanks again for all the effort that went into the contest.
Regina From NJ
Ohhhh–I can feel the excitement of 64 very happy and very lucky friends of yours, dear Zenyatta. I am so excited for them too. Part of your charm during your racing days was to watch the happiness on the faces of others when in your presence. And so, it continues.
@MLV-Oliver was a lucky boy to have had such a long life in your wonderful care. Good thoughts going your way.
G’night, dear Zenyatta xoxoxox

Dear Zenny
Congratulations to the chosen 64. Good luck as the
Drawing unfolds. Thanks to Steve and Mario for all of their
hardworking in selecting those precious 64. We are sooo
Lucky to be part of Zenny’s world all because of her
Connections.
Love the B-day pics and thanks to LIS and her owners
For sharing the pic of her foal. He is so cute and really responds
Well to humans. I was reading about Shutterfly a finicky (thoroughbred like warmblood)grand prix
World class jumper and when he was a foal his mother would
Lay down and he would jump over her. I suppose LIS is teaching
Her foal the ins and outs of a good start from the gate and
How to keep the pace and scope for the wire. The mark of a
Champion race horse.
@Dani
Thanks for the Mo and Maria video link. He is such a stallion and she
Is a very coy mare. They are sooo cute.
Sweet Dreams Zenny and happy ovulating. I read your
Mom conceived her most recent foal by Henry the Navigator at
The end of March. April is your lucky month.
Keep the pace and of course the scope for the wire.
Starr in AZ
Thanks so much Team Zenyatta for this wonderful contest and for everything you have all done for us fans! This is sooooo exciting!! I am very sorry for all who didn’t get drawn! I was never lucky enough to see Zenyatta in person but I was ALWAYS watching on TVG! What an amazing horse, surrounded by such wonderful people! THANK YOU!!!
Vickie
Best of luck to the 64! What a great thing to do – how I would love to read some of what was written! Zenyatta touched so many souls…mine was one
S
Well didn’t make the cut, but happy for those who did! Good luck top 64. Zenny, have you visited you Bernie yet? Blessings to all.
S
@Jeanne in Vista, hope you win. It will be nice knowing thar right up the 15 and across the 78 the bronze zenny will live:). But will truly he thrilled for whoever she goes to.
Tamyatta
Wow Zenny and Team Z I am totally blown away..my card made it and lucky #7..you just celebrated your #7 birthday…so I’m feeling the Z luck!!I wasn’t even sure my card would make it. I couldn’t find my special horse postcard that I wanted to send and I spent precious days looking for it! I finally had to give up and send one so I could make the deadline. It’s got seagulls on it…lol..but I know how you love all people and animals so I’m positive you like them too:) If I don’t make the next round it’s ok cuz it was so much fun to make the dance today. My heart jumped when I saw my name. I was not expecting to be drawn. And 3 of my fellow Texans are in too. Texas loves u Z girl. We tried to get you to come for a race at Sam Houston Race Park but it sadly did not work out. Congrats to all who were lucky today. Thanks Team Z for making it happen. MLV I know the pain…I will be feeling it soon with my choc lab. When she goes I will be a basket case. Zenny, you will have to help me thru that too like you have helped me thru the bad times for so many years. Love you with all my heart and nothing could ever change that. Tammi
Kathy
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone in barn 55. I feel as though I have already won. Steve, john, Mario, Dottie were likely to have seen my card which was picked in Zenyatta’s stall, which is like first prize to me!
I copied the Zenyatta web site with my big news to all of my FB friends and it is so funny that I need to explain what the Zenyatta phenominon is?! I think they all think I’m a little nuts. I hope that they check this site and see that I am in good company!
I do hope they publish some of the entrants….I’d love to see what people wrote….perhaps we could all start sharing anyhow?
Sharon in Ohio
This contest was a brilliant idea ! Congrats, to the lucky 64…great going ! I did not get my card sent…silly me ! But, some lucky someone is going to be the proud owner of that beautiful bronze !!
I love the card in Zenny’s stall at Barn 55…it is even bigger than I thought, from the first picture. Great artwork, from the class and what a creative project…this teacher deserves a lot of credit.
MLV@ So sorry for the lost of Oliver, bless you in your grief. I got great comfort from the Rainbow Bridge Poem, in the lost of my Afghan Hound, Rebecca, and Puppy, my Yorkie in the same year !I will see them again.
Love to Z, xxxxoxoox
Vicki B.
@Dani on the link: I loved the pics from Zenny’s party, finally got to see the gals there. Zenyatta does NOT take a bad picture, but she did get down and dirty in one, impressive (!) for our Queen.

Thanks to everyone who made me feel so much better today. Oliver is my greatest loss and I know I will never get over him. He was my baby, my sweet little boy. It is so nice to be part of such a caring group of people. It’s no wonder we all feel the same about Zenyatta. Again, thanks for all those kind words. And thanks to Zenyatta and her wonderful connections for bringing us all together in celebrating her amazing and outstanding accomplishments.

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, What a wonderful photo John took of Mario & Steve! They have the most beautiful smiles. WOW!! I see the pony express made it from Alabama on time. I sat speechless and just looked at the list and just experienced & soaked in the moment of what I saw! I am so excited beyond words to be on the list. I feel so honored & humbled to be drawn by Mario & Steve. Just to have Dottie read to you my words & thoughts of you means the world to me. I CONGRATULATE each and everyone on the list with me! What an amazing feeling to know we made it through to the 1st round. The thrill of anticipation and the excitement from that is so powerful to elevate one’s emotions.
@Sue Noel,Robbie Pfeufer Kahn& Karen Mitchell- Thank You for your kind words. I always enjoy reading your comments and look forward to them.
@ Dawn Conard and Karen Mitchell- it is such an honor to be on the list with you!
@ MLV & Alma- My heart goes to each of you on the loss of your best friend. I can relate to your feelings. The unconditional love and devotion of a dog is like nothing else. They can always drop what they are doing to have a listening ear a friend. They are happy with you and sad when you are. If we watch them they can teach us a lot about how to handle life’s problems. They are pure innocent love. I have experienced that heart ache & pain that seems to never end. Thinking of you & hoping that the pain will cease with time.
I love you, Zenyatta. Hoping you are enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful weather with your gal pals. I just want you to be happy, healthy & mainly safe. I applaude L.E for looking out for your best interest & protecting you. Zenyatta, you mean so much to me. Sending Hugs & Kisses From Alabama With Love, Amanda G.

2nd post @ Kim S. I want to tell how sorry I am for the loss of your Dad on April 1st. I lost my Dad in ’95 and I still remember losing a wonderful father & friend. Zenyatta has been such an inspiration & helps me to keep my face to the sunshine. It is so uplifting to be part of a Fan Family that listens to each other and responds. Thanks for your kind words! I’ll say a prayer for you that God give you strength to endure this time of sorry.
Misty
So bummed…I didn’t make it, but good luck to all those who did!!! I would settle for a hoofprinted autograph from the Queen!! LOL…future contest idea?? Zenyatta is so loved!

Dearest, Zenyatta. There is a song in my heart and I just can’t stop smiling after the good news today. How special! I loved the pictures from your birthday party on the Bloodhorse site. Everyone looked so happy to be spending time with their Zenyatta. You looked gorgeous of course and with your winter coat gone, your dapples were dazzling. Life is Sweet’s foal was the ultimate beautiful baby. So much love, Zenny. Sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO
@Shari Voltz – Your well wishes and prayers mean the world to me! How amazing that you had a feeling yesterday, maybe you brought me good luck. Thank you so much my friend. :)
@Peggy – Yea! I don’t remember seeing your last name before, so I was not sure if the Peggy on the list was you. But then I read your post. How wonderful to be sharing this experience!!! Hope you are doing well. I’m sure this made your day.
@Margie – Thank you so much! :) :)
@Molly – Loved the video of John explaining how much Zenny can mean to those that love her.
@Dani – Mo’s videos are great. Mr. Personality for sure.
@DJ, Trina, Deana, Paula, Kari and Shari left you messages at the end of #221, hope you had a chance to read them.
@Kim S. – I was so very sorry to read about your father passing away on April 1st. Your story of his love for Secretariat and the times you spent together is very touching. I am sure they will meet. How wonderful that Zenyatta’s birthday will bring you beautiful memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Blessings to you all.
Dawn Conrad
Also, to all of you who have shared stories of those wonderful little furry souls you have lived with and loss, rescued or are with now; thank you for sharing such tales of love. In my 54 years, I have never been without a dog and cat. My life would simply not be complete without my beloved friends.
Linda Henderson
Tears of joy! Finding my name on the list of 64–I am just so happy.
Yvonne and Maurice Kirby
Hi Zenyatta. What a great contest. Good luck to all who have been chosen. The sculpture of you is just beautiful, just magnificent. #19 is so special. Love you. Stay precious, eat well, enjoy those treats and have fun with your paddock BBFs. Love you, Angel in Disguise.
Sharon in Seattle
OMG, I almost fainted!! I was scanning the list for my name and finally looked up toward the top and there I was!!! #1 — BUT we all know who is the one, the only #1. Anyway, I’m thrilled. Cathy L. in Tacoma and Georgia in Bellevue – congrats. We should have a Zenyatta party at Emerald Downs!!
And to think that one year ago this weekend I was in Hot Springs, making wonderful new friends because of Zenyatta and watching the Queen make her run for the apple blossoms.
Thank you Team Z!
Michelle
To all on here who have suffered losses of family members/beloved pets I am truly sorry. I lost my Dad in ’95 and my life has never been the same. My Mom died the Sunday before the ’09 Breeders’ Cup and I had to cancel my once-in-a-lifetime trip to California. Her funeral was actually the day I was supposed to fly from Alabama to Los Angeles. It was doubly devastating losing my Mom and not getting to see Zenyatta in the Breeders’ Cup but it was not meant to be for whatever reason. Somehow my Mom worked it out with the Man Upstairs so Zenyatta would not retire and would come to Arkansas so I could see her. I got to see her at Oaklawn and then at Churchill for Breeders’ Cup this past year. It was wonderful. Horse Racing and especially Zenyatta have been my escape from reality and something to look forward to. It helps me cope with the loss and brings me happiness. I know all of you who post here “get it”.
Peggy
Hey Zenny its me again. Didn’t get to type much earlier. Hope your having a wonderful evening. Hope its nice weather there in KY. Every time I go up there I’m just so sad to be leaving the state. Just love it up there. This has been a wonderful week, being in the 64 the best, and guess what Zenny I got my sales Catalog today from Ocala Sales Company I’m planning on going down on the l7th to see the sales on Monday and tuesday. Its the first time I have been to a major sale and I am just extatic about it. My dad use to carry me to the sales in our area when I was a teenager and I just loved them. Oh, it is going to bring back such memories. I am going to miss my dad though very much. I know though, that he will be with me in spirit. Zen you should see some of the 2 year olds in the catalog I am excited as I have visited with lots of their sires in Ky. I heard Bob Baffort say as he was there last month that he was like a kid in a toy store, Zen I’m just going to want to bring all of them home with me. (wishful thinking) but I can dream though right. @Dawn I was so glad to see your name on the list Yippee, Yep its me too and the list just keeps going the things we have in common. You suppose we could just be long lost sisters and just not know it…………@MLV so sad about your loss, I lost my cat Holly last Aug and I had her for almost l3 years as well It helps for me to just keep teling myself to just keep moving..I know i’ll see her again one day. Better go to sleep now Zen, You have wonderful dreams and Good Luck to everyone. Love Ya Peggy
Cathy Lassila
So excited my card got picked. I had a postcard collection that I’ve held onto for over 40 yrs. This had to be the reason I told myself. Good luck to everyone in the next draw.
Sharon? I am planning on going to Emerald opening night after work ;-)

Joyous salutations & congratulations to all 64 of you!! Good Luck to everyone!
Thanks to Team Z and Queen Z for this most
wonderful variation on March Madness and the ultimate “race for the Bronze”! What fun!!
@ Kim S.: So sorry about your father. You have very many wonderful memories of him; may they comfort you. Sincere sympathy.
