Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday the drawing of the 64 names took place in my stall at Barn 55. Steve and Mario each drew 32 names from the big tubs. Before this, we put ALL of the cards into these tubs and mixed them around and separated stacks of them at a time like you would a deck of cards. Then Steve further stirred and mixed them over and over again by transferring them from one big bucket to another and shaking them around. He poured 1/2 the cards into one tub and the rest remained in the 2nd container. This took quite a bit of time, as we wanted to be sure all of the cards were separated properly.
After this, Steve and Mario went into my stall to get ready to draw the cards. They turned their heads (NO PEEKING) and each drew out 32 postcards. John took the photos!

We will draw the 32 on FRIDAY from this group of 64. Those names will be posted on Saturday morning!
Good LUCK to All!
With Love,
Hugs to All~

PS…So sorry I could not post the names yesterday afternoon as we originally stated. They are just completing the painting of John’s office at the house…and all of the computers were covered up late yesterday and Dottie could not use them. Painting will be done soon! (YEAH…then John can hang up some great photos of ME again!) Thank you for your patience and for being so understanding!

Lucky Fans wish I was one of them but I still have the QUEEN.
MK
Hooray! Thank you for posting the list; it made my day. Also love how the smiley face turns up next to my lucky name! Thank you – I’m excited. Best of luck to all!
Margie
Congrats to all of our 64 Z-pals! I can feel your excitement and I’m excited for you!
@Dawn – heartiest congrats – was meant to be.
@MLV – my heart goes out to you for the loss of your Oliver. I lost my beloved Golden 4 years ago on March 29, and I’m still lost without him. It’s said everyone has a soul mate;I believe my soul mate was a glorious Golden Retriever named Elvis. When people ask me “why don’t you get another dog?” I say I already have a dog and he lives in my heart forever. The love I feel for Zenyatta has helped me realize that my heart is open once again to feel that special love between human and animal. That kind of love is truly a gift from above.
Paul
I am very happy for all of the people who made the list of 64, even if I am not one of them. Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations to all the 64 who made the cut. Team Z you’re the best! Mario & Steve are the absolute best to have taken all that time to mix & pick the cards. Dottie all the time you’ve spent organizing the whole operation-you’re all one in a million. And you Zenny you made all this possible by just being you. The drawing the children made looks great in your stall. What fun for all!!!
J Smith
Congratulations all 64. This is Too Cute, I love the pic of Mario and Steve in Zenny’s stall, the fabulous drawing and pix on the wall. How wonderful of everyone to take the time to do this. It’s good to see names we don’t recognize on the list, which means many more people are reading Z’s diary than just us who often post. Even someone from Germany, love it.
ROXI COOK, enjoyed your photo’s.
UNCLE MO, anyone in need of a laugh, do check out the short video that DANI posted the link for, above. I was laughing all day yesterday, you think Mo & Maria’s romance is just humans having fun, no, it’s for real! That Mo is a character.
LouAnn Cingel of Union, Missouri
Wow Zenyatta, sure looks like there was lots of postcards that came in for the contest. Too bad you weren’t there to help draw them. I want to wish all those whose name was drawn, good luck into making it into the next drawn batch. Sure there are lots of excited people out there that are hoping of owning the #19 Bronze statue of you-I am one of them and feel honored that my card even got drawn in the first 64!
Hope you are doing good and are having a good time. You always shine brighter than any star up in the sky!
My Love & Blessings to you Zenyatta, Always!

Hi Sweet Z! I told you I have never won in a raffle. I think I’m setting a record of my own! hee Sincerely, congrats to the lucky 64. Your whole Z team is ever so gracious for doing all that they do for us fans.(WOW) I’ve got you Z etched in my mind and heart and numerous pictures upon my wall. I am saving room for 3 or 4 more; one with you and future baby Z for sure. Now, I just need to give you a kiss and my mission is complete! Thanks again Dottie, goodluck with the next round everybody! love with a kiss on your soft nose.

P.S. I think Mario and Steve are so cool.

Congrats to the lucky 64! Wow! I’m so excited even though I didn’t make the cut. Love the picture of Steve and Mario…what a pair they make.
Sally (B)
@Margie; I can relate to how you responded to MLV. I too had to let go of my Jessie, a black lab almost 13 yrs old. It is 3 years since. I love Z for so many reasons!! But, there are times that I feel empty in my home without a dog.
tony and sue
A huge congratulations to those lucky folks who made the list. We can’t wait to see who survives to the next round.
Dottie…thanks so much for being so efficient with this diary. We really look forward to reading it each day.

Hooray!!! for those who made it!!!! Exciting! I love the life size Zenny in her old stall-it looks perfect. @MLV- take care, we all understand. Have a good evening- I gotta go brush my dogs. JanetC

SO BLESSED!: Zenny I know that you were not “offically” in the drawing, but you were indeed drawn. My card was picked and on the reverse side of my card is a picture of YOU specially colored and finger painted by some special little people. So, we are IN!! I can’t imagine all of the different stories people have sent about YOU. I hope my card will bring a smile to someone’s face. Good luck to all and prayers to Japan.
Joan
Congrats to the lucky 64, wish you could all move on to the next round.
@MLV,the feelings will never leave you. I lost my Golden Cassie 7 years ago this month and I still cry when I think of her. For 13 years it was just she and I, she was my best friend. I have always had a dog and coming home in the evening to a empty home was horrible. I was determined not to get another dog, I felt that would be a betrayal to my Cassie. It is really hard to explain but 4 days after I lost cassie a girl in my office brought a pic in my office of this sweet little terrier mix who was in a rescue home. I really struggled with the idea of having another dog and it occurred to me that Cassie and I gave each so much love and if she could speak to me she would say share the love with someone who really needs you. SO I have had my little Bunny 6 years now. I needed her just as much as she needed me.
There is still not a day the warm memories of Cassie don’t sneak into my thoughts and I hug that little Bunny and give her the love I have left. Cassie, well she is still my best friend, but little Bunny needs me just as much as I needed her. Hope this will help a little,
because you will always have your Oliver.

Congratulations all 64 of you!! Whoever wins the Zenyatta sculpture is going to have the most beautiful and exquisite art piece of a lifetime.
I can say that because I am the proud owner of one of Nina Kaiser’s sculptures of Zenyatta. It is absolutely breathtaking! Nina has masterfully captured the magnificence of Z in all respects. What a thrill it is for me to see it in the room with me every day. ( I still wish I could just touch her nose in person, just once).
What a great, generous and exciting contest to have. ENJOY!!
Pat Beck
How many postcards were sent for this drawing, Z? Guess I’ll root for my fellow (sister?) New Mexican from Albuquerque!

Dear MLV,
I, too, lost my beloved “Sweetiepie” on February 24, 2011. She was 14 years old, a mix of Australian Shepard and Labrador. I found her on my kitchen floor when I got home from work. I can’t tell you how my heart was broken, how the tears just kept coming. A month and a couple of weeks later the pain is still there but slowly going away. She will always be in my heart and soul. Time will heal. Stay strong.
LOVE YOU ZENYATTA!!! This website helps me through tough times like this.
Vicki
Oh My Gosh! Zenyatta I can not believe it I am in the Final 64! I am so honored just to have made it this far and oh so happy. I love you Zenyatta!

I’m ecstatic! I’m one of the lucky 64 and the only one from Canada. I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight and I’m hoping that my number 13 on the list will be my lucky number – my grand daughter’s birthday is on the 13th. Thank you Team Zenyatta for such an exciting contest.

Dear MLV,so sorry to hear of the loss of Oliver.I know how hard it is for you now,but please remember he will always be in your heart! You also have our Zen sight to go to,she has helped me so much during the last few years, that I have lost so many things. My prayers are with you.Dear DANI,thanks so much for the Uncle Mo website video,I played it over and over, and laughed so much, too cute.I am not very computer literate,so it really helps me to have the website posted.I also got to see the picture of his disguise in the winners circle and other videos of him.You helped me thru the disapointment of not being one of the 64.Uncle Mo has been my chosen horse for the Derby since the first time I saw him run.Congrats to all who were picked.

Dear Z and Z Fans:
Just read on the SA web site that Premier Pegasus is scratched out of the SA Derby Saturday. He came up with a hairline fracture, but should heal and be alright in time. I’m glad they found it now, before he raced. Good luck to Mr. Commons, John and Mikey. We’ll be cheering for them. Love to all of you. Judy and Russ

Congratulations to all who made the Big 64! It was nice to see familiar names, and not-so-familiar names too. Hurray for Zenny, inspiring everbody!
@MLV–Condolences on the passing of your Lab. It’s good that Zenyatta and “Family Z” can bring you some sunshine and you can still engage in a little word play
