Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday the drawing of the 64 names took place in my stall at Barn 55. Steve and Mario each drew 32 names from the big tubs. Before this, we put ALL of the cards into these tubs and mixed them around and separated stacks of them at a time like you would a deck of cards. Then Steve further stirred and mixed them over and over again by transferring them from one big bucket to another and shaking them around. He poured 1/2 the cards into one tub and the rest remained in the 2nd container. This took quite a bit of time, as we wanted to be sure all of the cards were separated properly.
After this, Steve and Mario went into my stall to get ready to draw the cards. They turned their heads (NO PEEKING) and each drew out 32 postcards. John took the photos!

PS…So sorry I could not post the names yesterday afternoon as we originally stated. They are just completing the painting of John’s office at the house…and all of the computers were covered up late yesterday and Dottie could not use them. Painting will be done soon! (YEAH…then John can hang up some great photos of ME again!) Thank you for your patience and for being so understanding!
Molly
Sharon Call, there is a reference to the Santa Barbara teacher that John Shirreffs talks about in a video I watched, but for the life of me can’t locate at this time, in the article, “Zenyatta Stirred the Emotions” by Steve Haskin (Nov. 11, 2010) on Bloodhorse.com. Doesn’t have the same effect as the video, though. I’ll try to find the video tonight. It may not have been on YouTube, but saw it on line.

Congratulations to everyone on the list – good luck to all.
Much love to you, Sweet Zenny – love you so much, sweetheart!

Sharon Call I found the video in which John Shirreffs is asked during a Thoroughbred Times interview to talk about a Zenyatta fan. In this interview he talks about a Santa Barbara teacher that arrives in a wheel chair. Here’s how to get to that video:

Now, here is something funny. Many of you may recall in a prior Diary posting the story of Uncle Mo (leading Kentucky Derby contender) and his girlfriend Awesome Maria (who won her Gulfstream stakes race last week by 8 lengths). They are definitely a power couple. Their romance has been unfolding on Uncle Mo’s Facebook. When last we left you, Maria had just won her race and Mo wanted to be there for her in the winner’s circle so he put on a disquise (see profile photos – – it’s the moustachiod gentleman in the sunglasses). He was able to fool Uncle Mike (Mike Repole his owner) and Uncle Todd (Todd Pletcher his trainer) and the zillions of others packed around them as well as those of us at home watching on TV. They had a great evening together after that. Well the saga continues. Yesterday MO jetted up to New York to prepare for the Wood Memorial which runs on Saturday. And Maria was not invited. According to Mo, she was quite jealous and wouldn’t speak to him. And he showed us proof. A video. It’s very dramatic. You see Uncle Mo pleading with Maria to stop and come talk to him and you see Maria rebuff him, defiantely turning away from him as she struts passed. This is classic soap opera stuff. You can follow Mo and Maria’s romance on Mo’s Facebook. And now here is the video –
