Good Morning,
It’s contest time! Dottie is off to Hollywood Park this morning for the drawing of the “64 contestants”. Good luck everyone!
I wanted to share with you a pencil drawing that Sherrill Brooke did of ME! It is one that MY JOHN really loves. He has it hanging in his office at the house right by his desk. This way, I am right there with him each day!
We will post the 64 names on the web-site later today. My Barn 55 friends are going to help us by drawing the cards out of the containers. They will do a very careful job! I told them NO PEEKING! This is TOO CUTE!
With love,
Hugs to All~

Just in case you or anyone else hasn’t seen this, it’s Zenyatta viewed through the eyes of equine sport science:

@Kari Bussell–You said it so well: Zenyatta blazed her way into the history books and none of us will ever be the same.
@Charlotte Farmer–Yes, you’re 100% right–we have all won, just by knowing Z.
Joan Dobbie
Zenyatta, I tell EVERYONE about you. I just told a father of a girl and a boy in California. He looked you up. He was mindblown by your beauty. He says his kids will fall in love with you & even study you from now on.He said Mike Smith was so lucky to have ridden her. Now you are part of their lives!
Kathryn Cogswell
Dear DawnC: Sensitive notes from Trina & others writing to Karey [and from S. Call — please forgive my forgetting someone] thoughtfully wove a good ‘Alert’ solution to touchy notes for wary readers. PS: Have any of you {all} heard how Barbara Wood is faring?
Annie
Thank you to Dottie and all at Barn 55 for all of your hard work on the Zenyatta bronze statue contest. Thank you for keeping this Diary so current and so much fun. Hooves are crossed.
J Smith
Trina, thanks for posting that link to the artist.

Whoa! Check out the calendar Kathy put a link to a little above. Now that’s a calendar I’d look at everyday! It comes with a great pic of Zenyatta too.
Valeria, I am laughing, as I see that you have now become a TB fb addict too. I used to have a life, until I discovered all those. Now I can’t wait to rush home and see what they are all up to. Much better than a soap opera.

That’s a lovely pencil drawing of you, Zen! Would you please let us fans of yours know if the wonderful artist, Ms. Brooke, might make a reproduction available, either as a print or stationery? I’d love to see you by my desk as “art” — I’d rather have you on my balcony (I live in an apt.) for real but I’m sure you’d prefer Lane’s End. ~ XOXO, Laura

Hi Z, Beautiful drawing – I love the dapples and those muscles. Hope I can buy one too. Love you.
Nancy
The sketch of you is beautiful!

Good morning sweet Queen Zenyatta. The sun is shining here in East Liverpool YEA! I hope it is out all day. I don’t have curtains so my classroom will be bright. It just makes everyone feel better. I hope you and the girls have a beautiful day in Kentucky. Enjoy all that blue grass and spring fresh air. I wanted to say I checked out the calendar with Mike Smith and Z he is pretty hot. I might be married but I can look ha-ha :) Speaking of good looking how is Bernie? I hope all is well with hime too. Well sweet one I must get to work. I love you and so do the children. Hugs and Kisses from Shari and Homeroom 215 XXXOOO

Keep up the good work, Michael! (And give LSC a carrot for me.)
Arlene
I was wondering, is there a significance to the #64 used for the first drawing?
@Kitei, Thanks for the link to the equine sport science video. Very interesting!
Blessings.
Dani
Zenny – What a beautiful pencil drawing. And the painting – I bet you would think you were looking in a mirror if you saw it. It’s unbelievably life-like. You can almost smell the lovely blue grass and feel the sun on your shoulders. I also like the one of Rachel Alexandra. He has absolutely caught that unique look about her eye as well as he has with your own. What an amazing artist.

@Arlene, the drawing was inspired by the NCAA Basketball tournament, which starts with 64 teams. The idea for the drawing came up just before the tournament started.
Lady Renee
what can I say, just that with everyday that passes by you just get more beautiful Zenyatta

@ Paula, What # Bronze did you get? Do think they still have more?
@ EVERYONE – How many cards did everyone send in? How many cards do you think they got all together?
Rose
Yes, thats a great picture of Zenyatta.
Iam still in awe of Zen, and her magnetic charming power to draw people to her its amazing. Has her personality changed with farm life? Does she still dance? When will she be bred again?
Good luck on winning…
suemar
@everyone – I sent 10. I would guess 1900-2500.
Alexandra Bowdoin
@ everyone, Z now has 74,000 facebook fans…I only sent 1 card in.
Arlene
Thank you Dottie and Z Team for all your work and love.
@LauraJ, thank you for answering my question. It’s interesting that it looks like we’ll see the list of the first 64 names on April 7 (Zenny 7 years old).
@Gloria Jeanne, I ended up sending in 2 cards.

All of Mr. Brooke’s painting and drawings were beautiful..no pic of him..was curious to see what someone looks like that can capture all the beauty and detail.

Zenyatta, you always look beatiful, racing, in pasture, eating etc. Would love to know if prints will be issued for purchase.
