Hello Everyone,
It is cool and a bit overcast here this Saturday morning at Hollywood Park. I am in the midst of such a great deal of fun!
Earlier in the week, Isabelle got to ride me for her birthday present from John.
Then Michelle, my masseuse, wanted to get a chance to ride me around the walking ring at the barn. Michelle is an extremely experienced horse woman. She has been riding for 25 years…and was the regular exercise rider for horses like Starrer and Hollywood Story whom John trained. She absolutely had a BLAST! Too cute!
The visitors are still coming in groves. John said the barn crew will have to go on ‘mini-diets’ after I leave because so many people have been so generous about bringing LOTS of TREATS for my friends at the barn: cookies, candy, cakes (carrot, of course) and danish. They LOVE IT ALL…and wanted me to THANK YOU personally!
Also, I am hearing LOTS of people are reading the Diary each day. This is great news. Last night, Margaret, Tom Halpenny’s wife, (Tom is my wonderful blacksmith)…said they heard from a friend in Australia who was able to locate them via reading my Diary. Now this is GREAT NEWS!
Tomorrow is my HOLLYWOOD PARK FAN APPRECIATION DAY! It is getting exciting. Then on Monday, I will be honored at KEENELAND. I am really getting excited.
Dottie was talking with my new Lane’s End friends about things I will be doing when I get there. As I have mentioned before, David, Dottie’s son, lives in Lexington and will be there with me. I hear Lane’s End is getting MY NEW BARN organized…and they will have SEVERAL NEW GIRLFRIENDS for me to meet upon my arrival. They are also having Sarah, David’s assistant, work with Dottie on all of my updates. So, we will able to keep ALL of YOU posted on what I am doing! Sounds exciting!
YEAH…time to go get a bit of exercise…and then meet more FANS! WOW…I just took a peek outside the barn. There are LOTS of PEOPLE OUTSIDE AGAIN TO SEE ME. LOTS!!!!! I’ll smile…PRETTY… in all the photos!
With love,
Hugs~

Sweet Lady Zenyatta, I am so excited for you! I love hearing how Land’s End is getting your new home ready. That makes me feel better about you going there. It sounds like you will have a blast with your new friends. I am so excited about Sunday. What a party that will be! I am so sad that I can’t be there to see you but I’m coming to Ky when they get your schedule set up. Enjoy yourself, Zenyatta, you have deserved everything that comes your way! No words can describe what you have accomplished and what it means to each and every fan. I’m looking forward to reading all about your party and seeing the photos. I hope your diary continues because it means so much to have a connection with you and hearing about your daily activities. I love you, Zenyatta,
Love, Amanda

Oh, Zenny, how I wish I could be at Keeneland on Monday! We want to see LOTS of photos and videos of you at Lane’s End. Get ready to see some snow! It’s snowing in Kentucky today.
Love you so much.
Linda Shull
Hope to see you at Lane’s End. Please keep everyone updated.
Victoria
Oh, so happy to hear that Sarah will keep us updated. We are driving to Keeneland to greet you and welcome you. You are inspiring so many thousands of people in so many ways. Your whole team has my deepest thanks of aporeciation.
Rhonda Clements
I hope we continue to hear from Zenny and what is happening and maybe an occasional photo or 2 she has helped give me something to look forward to since losing my Mom. I cannot imagine how sad the barn will be once she goes, but am so glad she hs retired healthy and happy, she is truly one of a kind and a gift to the world. Thanks to the Mosses for being such great owners, she was lucky to get you and I guess she has repaid everything tenfold. Thanks for giving us the gift that is Zenyatta.

Hey, Zenny:
I’m feeling much better about your going to Lane’s End. It sounds like you just won’t be shoved out in a pasture and won’t be used for a “baby machine” Wow you’ll have your own barn? Cool! Will Sunday be televised on anything other than TVG? We don’t get that in Georgia. Do you think ESPN or ESPN2 will carry it? Also, do you know yet when the 60 Minutes program will be aired so we can see you transitioning from CA to KY? I’m so relieved that Sarah will be keeping your posts coming. We never want to lose touch with you, wonderful girl. You mean way to much to too many people to just drop out of site. I read on the Lane’s End web site that there will be Zenyatta visitor days and we should check your dairy post to see which days those are. Hopefully, Sarah will let us know when those days are scheduled. I can’t image your leaving CA. I’ve owned many horses and if I owned you I would never let you go! You’re the kind of horse that every horse owner wants to own but rarely gets the chance to. You keep your chin up, Zenyatta. I know getting settled into a new barn and new way of life will be tough at first, but I finally feel that you will be looked after properly and your new human friends will watch out for you and make sure you’re OK and if you’re not, I know they will let Jerry, Dottie, John and Ann know about it. My heart goes with you, you wonderful creature. I hope everyone understands and appreciates what John has done for you. He should be reognized for thinking “outside of the box” when training thoroughbreds. He took his time in bringing you along, recognized when you weren’t ready to run and let you be yourself. One of the things I’ve noticed about your team is their constant reference to your being “happy”. It’s so important in working with any animal that the humans find the “sweet spot” that makes that animal happy and at their best and John and the rest of the team did that with you. Hats off to all of them that helped with this. Look at the wonderful results they obtained. Do you think anything might be put on Youtube about Sunday and Monday? I don’t want to miss a chance to see what’s going on with you. Later, Queen A.

Who will get your barn when you travel to Kentucky? That will be one lucky stall to get albeit big HOOVES to fill!
Maria
Queen Z thanks for the update. Please keep us posted of what is going on with you at Lane’s End. Long live the Queen!!!
Diana Hanson
I have been so sick this past week but I told my family I want to see The Queen! Hopefully, I feel well enough to make the trip to Keeneland on Monday. Just to touch your nose…heaven!
Sharon Call
Sorry for the typos. I thought I got all of them. I meant diary, not dairy, Queen Z, not A, etc., etc. It’s hard to type with tears in your eyes.
Lynne
Queen Z…I am taking my two girls out of school on Monday and surprising them with a trip to Keeneland from Columbus, OH, just so we can see you. The only thing my 8 year old wants for Christmas is your Breyer model, but as I am sure you know they are very hard to come by now! Hopefully seeing you in person will be better than a Breyer! Travel safely Zenny! See you Monday!
S
Happy Saturday Zennie and team! See you tomorrow. Leaving in about an hour.

Zenyatta, I can’t wait to see you on TV tomorrow. You reminded me how much I love horses and someday I hope to own a beautiful girl like you. Have a wonderful day tomorrow and good luck on your trip.

Zenyatta, thanks again for the post. Tomorrow you will get to see a small portion of your loving fans. We are all over the country and the world. I am in MD, but I am hoping one fine day to see you in KY because I am not able to make the trip to CA. I know you appreciate all the love and happiness that your humans have given to you, but it isn’t half of what you’ve given to us. You have truly shown everyone a different side to horses than anyone has ever seen and I thank you for your love and positive energy. I am so glad to hear that your new Secretary, Sarah, will be working with Dottie to keep us posted on you new life. You are going to be a wonderful Mommy. I have a feeling you will get to see your favorite humans again in KY.
Cynthia
Hope you can meet-up once again with your old girlfriend, Life is Sweet! You two can have a real gab fest over the many happenings of the past year!
Cathy Polansky
WOW Zenny, you are the GREATEST HORSE EVER!!! and loved by everyone that comes in contact with you, so wonderful. I can’t wait to see you on Sunday, it’s going to be so much fun, but heart breaking knowing that you are leaving. I really hope Lane’s End will keep us up to date on how you are doing. I cry just about every time when I read your posts, but it also puts a smile on my face to hear what you are up to. You have captured some many people’s heart with you sweet, kind personality. You are one in a life time Zenny, and I’m so glad I got to meet you up close, I WILL NEVER FOR GET IT. I will miss you a lot sweet girl. Good luck at Lane’s End and I can’t wait to see some of you babies some day. Love you lots sweet girl, and BIG BIG HUGS.

Love to you and all your team. You are really something to behold and are the best ever.

I have been very emotional these days about your leaving dear Zenyatta. Tearing up at all the things I am reading about you. But at least we will be getting your updates daily. And I know you will be well cared for and loved. BETTER BE! I would love to be there when you first see all that space for you to kick up your heels and run and play. What fun. See you tomorrow.
Michele
I just had the chance to see you and take a picture with you. What a beautiful and patient horse you are! I’ll cherish the memory…
Dani
Dear Zenyatta –
I’m so happy to know you will have family to be with you at Lane’s End. I know Lanes’s End knows how special you are and will take good care of you, but those of us who love you worry about your happiness and want to know that there are people there that personally know and care very much about you so you will truly be able to make this change in your life as easy and as happy as possible. It is also so comforting to know that we fans can keep an eye on you too through your diary posts. We all have been so lucky to be involved with you and to have become kindred spirits of a sort with you even if we are not part of your real family or barn friends. But you’ve changed so many of our lives that we do feel as if you are our friend. A friend like no other. Enjoy your day in the sun tomorrow Queen Zenyatta – I will be watching and recording every moment. I can’t wait to see you again. You make every day brighter.
Teresa Drennen
I keep worrying how you will feel about the temperature change, girl? My hubby told me not to worry that you will be treated like the queen you are, and I’m sure he is right. It’s been a long time since you have seen snow, if ever, so don’t forget your leg warmers, Beautiful! Kentucky is awesome, there’s a reason they have so many beautiful songs about the rolling hills and meadows. You will be very happy there, I know.
Merrill O'Neal
I hope you adjust well at Lanes End. I can’t imagine how Mario and Steve feel. I saw you at Oaklawn and they were so proud of you. I saw Mario walk you in the test barn and I never saw anyone prouder. I can only imagine what they are feeling. Thats the down side of having someone like you to love. The goodbyes are harder. I know because I have had some great ones that I have had to say goodbye to. But they can come visit so maybe that will make it easier. I am so honored that I got to see you and I will always love you. Hoping to be able to keep up with you, Merrill
