Hello Everyone,
In life, we all have things that don’t always go as hoped or planned. I am not any different than anyone else. At Lane’s End, they did a recheck on me today and discovered that I am no longer in foal. Just as with humans, horses also have this type of thing happen.
I am feeling terrific! I am totally looking forward to becoming a MOM in the future. I want everything to be perfect when that time comes!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

My dear sweet, loveing Zenyatta. The word from me is SHOCKED. on 3-23-11 The Daily Racing Form put out an artical by Glenye Cain Oakford stateing that your owner Jerry Moss confirmed that there was a second planned ultrasound and it confirmed that you were still in foal. You were do to have another ultrasound between April 4-6. Will you still have that ultrasound? IS it a possibility that the person reading the ultrasond to make the report could have been mistaken? I hope they do another check of sorts to be sure. I am soooo sorry for you Queen Z. I feel that it is impossible for the greatness of you for this to happen. It would have been easier to handle if the breeding had not taken from the start. I know you will be heads up even tho you feel bad because you are Zenyatta and no matter what, one day you will have your little baby just as your MOM had you. I think that I read that your MOM had a problem to carry her foal at times. She waited and had you, the Greatest on the Grate. Keep well Zenny and God Bless You. My sentiments to the Moss and all at barn 55. Keep up the posts, you are still our California Queen Zenyatta and we love you as much and more than ever and wonder and worry about you always. Will be waiting for more news on you Zenny. Love you always.

I am so sorry to hear this. But don’t worry Miss Z there is a reason for everything, now may not be the time. One day you will have a very beautiful foal and you will make a great mother. Love you and wish you well.

DRF is reporting Zenyatta will be bred again to Bernardini next week. Is this true? Is it too soon? Please let us know. I just know nothing about horse breeding. Will some of you with more knowledge comment? I love you beauty!
Steph

Zenny: I am so sorry to hear that you lost your foal. Can you be bred again or does that not happen for a good reason unbeknownst to us? Well, just relax and enjoy yourself. I hear it’s lovely in the spring and summer out where you are in Bluegrass country.
I love you, Zenny. Maybe we can come and visit you this summer now that you are not in foal. :)
Jenna
Oh no. I feel so bad. Poor Zenyatta. I’m sure 2nd time will be a charm. Everyone loves the pretty girl. Everything will be OK.
Big kiss.
Delores
To YSBOR. You don’t belong on this website. Of Course she is a horse, but a precious remarkable horse who everyone loves and for someone like you to say the things you did, you should be ashamed of yourself. Go to a website where idiots and jerks go, that is where you belong.
Sorry for these comments to the rest of Zenyatta’s fans and Team Z, but I am upset.
I can’t bear for a jerk to say things about our Precious Queen.
Jan
Zenyatta,
I am so sorry for the lost of your foal. I’m glad to hear that you are doing well and are healthy. I know Mother Nature will let you know when you are ready. You are loved so much by all of us. You are one beautiful and special gal. Lots of love & kisses & prayers from your loyal fans in Houston. xoxoxo
Carolyn
So sorry – it’s not too late to re-breed, is it? I had a mare do the exact same thing last year and I was devistated since this was going to be my first race bred horse! Not to be though.
Suzanne G
Dear Zenyatta,
Thank you for letting us know.
That you’re feeling terrific is great to hear. Just remember that patience is your strong suite. Keep those dapples dancing in the sunshine, enjoy your merry band of mares and that famous Kentucky bluegrass.
Love and hugs, SuzanneG

OMG ….YOU PEOPLE ARE ‘INSANE’ !!!!! You do know your talking to a horse , as if she’s scrolling through her ipad reading your heartfelt comments …..LMAO ….YOUR ALL NUTS !
Especially Horses
As reported by The BloodHorse:
She came up empty on a 35-day check,” said Lane’s End farm manager Mike Cline. “It happens, and it’s unfortunate. It’s just one of those things. It’s not unusual. She’s happy and healthy. Hopefully, we’ll get her right back in foal.”
Seven-year-old Zenyatta (Street Cry—Vertigineux, by Kris S.) will be bred again to Bernardini.

Hi Z – it’s Glimmering Bay. I’m a former racehorse who lives in NJ and I’ve been following you all through your career.
I want to say how sorry I am and to let you know that I know how you feel, but I can assure you that very good things can happen after disappointment and sadness. I carried to term and then lost my fourth foal. That was 3 years ago. The doctors say it is risky for me to have another, but someday again I may try if all seems to be well.
In the meantime though, I am giving a lot of joy and love to my owner(as you do), thrilling the girls at the farm with my gallops around the paddocks (I love your videos), having a good time with my standardbred friend Lexie while watching my first son try to become something other than a pain in the neck! (He was very fast, but hurt his tendon in training, so now he is becoming a riding horse!)
Keep yourself relaxed – that’s very important especially after all that brilliant racing you did – and let yourself just flow into your own energy. It will happen…and when it does it will be a blessing!
Yours in friendship,
Glimmering Bay

I know things happen for a reason, but still makes me sad.
.
Z, it’s good to hear that you are taking the news well.
.
Ok, questions to the horse folks out there. What happens now if all of her girlfriends have their babies, will she stay with them or will she moved to another group?
Cheryl Smith
I am lifting you up in prayers! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We all love you so much and just want you to be safe.
Please keep us posted! Love you Forever!!!!
LauraJ
@Everyone, while this is sad news, it’s not a disaster. If an embryo is resorbed at this early stage, there is a reason–probably an anomaly with the embryo’s development, or possibly a twin pregnancy–something like that. We would not want such a pregnancy to continue. It is likely that she will be rebred as soon as possible. It is not even April yet, and there is plenty of time. So think good thoughts.
lizzy
To all those on the board…ignore the troll (Michael).
.
AND to set the record straight for others out there…..YES, we know we are talking to a horse….
lizzy
@lauraj
.
you anwered my question then, they will attempt to breed her again. Second times a charm. :)
Samantha
It’s okay baby were here for you!!
Lakeway
According to a breeder on another site, Zen could come back into heat within the next couple of days or so. If that’s the case, she could possibly be bred this weekend or early next week.
Jessica Marie
Z,
I almost can’t believe it.
I’m so sorry. I know they are taking the best care of you, and you will be a MOM soon!!
Louise Castello
I don’t understand why the haters even bother to read these entries! Of course we know we’re talking to a horse! It’s great fun and we love her.
Carolyn
yep – DRF reports she’ll be bred back next week. Always hope still!
Virginia from Montana
Hi Zen. Do you mind if I nominate myself board police chief? All of you other women on here who want to boss others around report to me. Are we clear? Do I have to break out scripture?
DJ
Michael, (obviously not of St. Michael and friends) Yes, we are talking to a horse, but not just any horse…a brilliant horse who is also reading our postcards that are being sent :) I hope you stay and feel the unity that is “Love”, for God is Love and we only love Him as much as we love the least of our breathren…so you are most welcome to stay! It is obvious that this is a godly website or you would not be here. Our Good Lord said “Get Behind Me!” and you are indeed behind us; so you receive a blessing and not a curse in return.
