Happy Tuesday Everyone,
I hope all of you are having a wonderful week! The postcards for the contest are steadily arriving. You have several more days to get yours to us! Good Luck to ALL!
This is TOO CUTE! My John was sitting on the floor in the den last night reading many of them aloud to Dottie. It is so touching to hear the loving comments you have written about ME! THANK YOU for sharing these kind words with ME and MY TEAM!
Yesterday, I shared the front part of my JOCKEY CLUB PAPERS with you! The back portion of them is also very, very important. This is where THE OFFICIAL RECORD of Races Won in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico is recorded for a horse. After each race, the WINNER has the following information properly recorded by a racing official on his/her papers: Date Won, Net Value to Winner, Type of Race, Distance, Name of Stake or Handicap, Name of Track and the Signature of the Racing Official Who Recorded the Information on the papers.
THE JOCKEY CLUB PAPERS must always travel with a horse when he or she runs. When I went to Oaklawn to run in the Apple Blossom, my papers went with me. They are immediately turned into the track’s racing office so all of the recorded details pertaining to the horse as ownership, markings, and races won to date are available to the officials.
The requirement that the JC Papers be with the horse for each race is true for ALL horses ALL of the time at ALL race tracks. It is a very specific rule that must be followed in our industry to keep everything perfect for the horses and the FANS!
In the photo above, you can see MY OFFICIAL RECORD! There are my 19 VICTORIES all properly recorded! WOW!
Take Care…and have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

I was there for 6 of those victories, as well as that final race….but 2nd is nothing to sneeze at in that kind of company, when several other top quality horses didn’t do as well as our girl! The JC papers are very interesting…I had no idea about all of this. We are still so proud of you Queen Z!!!!

Hi Zenny- Thanks for sharing this, but I just read the post # 214 and I’m a little sad now. I hope you are feeling ok and not in any pain….

Thank you so much for posting. This is so neat!!!
.
I take it, if this particular piece of paper were to be misplaced I assume it would be a nightmare to replace.
.
I had no idea until explained on her the process involved, identifying, recording and documentation involved with TB.

My beautiful Zenyatta, that is the most impressive record ever!!!! Nothing but perfection from you. For some crazy reason, all the places I have gone to for postcards…DOESN’T have them…what is up with that? I will find them….Love your #1 fan in Montana!!

Thank you Dottie and John for posting Z’s racing card. And Thank You for reading the post cards. Zen has meant so mvch to me, in fact because of Her and You/The Team. I want to really enter the sport. It is my dream to own and race horses. I can’t thank you enough for this gift called Zenyatta. And it seems this post has been over shadowed by the sad news of Tuesday. I am deeply saddened, but I have hope for the future, as these things happen. Love and Hugs

Dear Queen Zenyatta and our Special Dottie – I missed this post entirely until now, late at night, after an emotionally sad day for you. This post is a bright spot after this day, and shows why we call you the QUEEN of the Sport of Kings! Today was our thoroughbred filly’s third birthday but I didn’t want to post it on #214 because it just didn’t seem to fit with the vibe of the day. But here, it seems to fit. She’s a pretty Chestnut, Zennie, and as fast as others in her group. She’s taking her lessons well and improving. Like you, she is taking her time to find her stride so she can do her best, as you always do. Her name for her Jockey Club papers hasn’t been selected yet, but we call her Bullette when we talk about her. :) She’s going to be at Hollywood Park soon, Zennie, just like you were for so long. Your inspiration hangs in the air there like a sweet perfume, and tonight, hope is high for our little girl racehorse and her racing future, and for your future healthy babies as well.
Hugs from our house to your cozy stable

19 victories, oh Z, what a feat! And race 20 was heroic! I know John was so wise in how he took care of you and trained you. what a team you were. I have tears remembering your racing run. you are my shero!

Dear Sweet Zenyatta,
Thank you so much for sharing your papers with us and for giving us an opportunity to win a bronze of you. I am so sorry you are out of foal, hopefully you will still have another try this season. You are the best of the best sweet girl!

More interesting information, Zenyatta. I never knew all of this. I am learning more from reading your diary than I ever did in school. They don’t teach this stuff there. You definitely have to be careful about the papers going where you do every single time you race. I have one question. Do the back of the papers record only the races that a horse specifically wins or all races, period.? In other words, in your case, Zenyatta, is the Breeders Cup race that you lost to Blame in 2010 recorded in your papers or only the 19 races that you won?
