Happy Tuesday Everyone,
I hope all of you are having a wonderful week! The postcards for the contest are steadily arriving. You have several more days to get yours to us! Good Luck to ALL!
This is TOO CUTE! My John was sitting on the floor in the den last night reading many of them aloud to Dottie. It is so touching to hear the loving comments you have written about ME! THANK YOU for sharing these kind words with ME and MY TEAM!
Yesterday, I shared the front part of my JOCKEY CLUB PAPERS with you! The back portion of them is also very, very important. This is where THE OFFICIAL RECORD of Races Won in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico is recorded for a horse. After each race, the WINNER has the following information properly recorded by a racing official on his/her papers: Date Won, Net Value to Winner, Type of Race, Distance, Name of Stake or Handicap, Name of Track and the Signature of the Racing Official Who Recorded the Information on the papers.
THE JOCKEY CLUB PAPERS must always travel with a horse when he or she runs. When I went to Oaklawn to run in the Apple Blossom, my papers went with me. They are immediately turned into the track’s racing office so all of the recorded details pertaining to the horse as ownership, markings, and races won to date are available to the officials.
The requirement that the JC Papers be with the horse for each race is true for ALL horses ALL of the time at ALL race tracks. It is a very specific rule that must be followed in our industry to keep everything perfect for the horses and the FANS!
In the photo above, you can see MY OFFICIAL RECORD! There are my 19 VICTORIES all properly recorded! WOW!
Take Care…and have a wonderful day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Wow! Did they have to add an extension for all your wins? Such interesting information. Do you have an idea how many postcards have arrived yet? – just curious – bet there will be in influx in the next few days! I was reading all the new posts and looking at pictures on your fb page – went back to my home page and there was a new diary post – always look forward to them – thanks for all the info – hugs! ( thanks Dottie).
Linda
Hi Zenny,
How will they let us know when we can see you and if we have to have a specific time to go.
Toi
Hi Zenny!
I wanted to tell you that I was watching American Pickers last night on the History Channel. It’s a show about these two guys who search for old collectable items like motorcycle parts and old porcelain signage. Anyway, on last nights episode they visited this a man, named Alfie, who lived high up in the hills of Malibu, CA. He had 9 acres of stuff laying all of the place and in buildings, including a half million record albums. Well, he was wearing a Zenyatta cap! I thought that was so random and TOO CUTE!

John will be reading for a while, with all the cards you are getting.Have a great day Z.

How cool Zenny! Thanks for the information! Can’t wait to learn more!! And tell John that he should be expecting a postcard from me soon!! Love you!!! :D

Dearest Zenyatta,
Have you shown the back of your JC papers to your paddock pals? No, you’re too probably too modest and sweet to brag. But somehow I’m sure they already understand that you’re the Queen of the track! :)
Hope the grass is growing there in Kentucky–Baby Z needs his vitamins!
Have a lovely day filled with treats and fun,
Stel
Fran
That is very cool Z-all of your recorded races! Pretty cool! Hope your day is a good one. Weather is nice here, and I hope it is the same in Kentucky. You are going to find, after reading those postcards, that you are definitely loved by everyone. You can be very proud! xxoo
Eveline
Wow,Zenny. I asked yesterday if we could see the back of the papers and here it is !! Look at all those grade 1 and 2!! Your amazing, So sweet of John to actually read all the postcards.Have a great day grazing Zenny!
CHERYL
You are such an ispiration!
Patricia
Good morning, lovely girl… hope you are enjoying spring weather and sunshine. I have one question about your JC papers— what happens when the back is all filled out with wins, as yours is? If you had gone on for another year, winning as we all know you would have, would you have had a second page added for the additional wins? Well, not many horses have as many wins as you have, undefeated or not… so this may not come up very often. Just wondering. Hope to see you soon.
Kristen
I just love the thought that John may have been reading one of my postcards to Dottie! Too cool.

Zenny and Dottie- I just celebrated my 90th birthday and we have something in common–when I was ‘in foal’ 63 years ago,I craved bananas, too. In Winter time then fresh fruit was scarce, and my dear husband had to go all over town to find some decent ones !Times have changed.
I really enjoy your diary and have learned a lot. We talk about you at my house as if you were good family friends, which you are.
Gloria
Whoa, Big Mama Z! That is one impressive list on your papers. There are very few horses with a record like that. You are such a gem. Hope you’re eating lots of bananas and pears and taking care of yourself. Hello to all of Team Zenyatta.
Henrietta Wolfe
Z, I don’t see a crown on the papers. There should be as you are THE QUEEN. (*_*) Well, we are getting close to the end of March Madness. Maybe your Wildcats will go all the way. You will love that. I read on your face book page where some folks came to Lane’s End and visited with the stallions but could not see you. I know you are busy and you are not seeing visitors, public that is. I hope some day that will change because my heart will be broken forever if I can’t look at and marvel in person. I hope Dottie knows what a great job you are doing keeping us all informed. (*_*) It is just wonderful. Athlete, scholarly, a teacher, beautiful and witty and soon to be an extraordinary mom is what you are. You haven’t mentioned Violet and Stella lately. How are they doing? I am for sure they miss you. Do you have a cat? (*_*) Zenyatta, I LOVE YOU!! Have a good Tuesday and I will be waiting to hear from you. Hi to Dottie and John. xoxoxoxox
Janie
Hi Zenyatta, I mailed my cards yesterday – they don’t have too far to go (from the mid-San Fernando Valley to Arcadia is maybe 30 miles or so). Thanks for sharing your JC papers with us and explaining them – you are simply TOO CUTE!
Gloria
To Toi,
I’ve seen American Pickers once or twice. Fun show! Wish I’d seen last night’s (I don’t always know when the show is on). Half a million albums?! WOW! That’s right up my alley, but I’ll bet you the one Zenyatta cap would have been worth more than most of the albums in his collection. :-)

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! We get to see the back of the Jockey Club Papers today! Just think, Zenny….you are the only one with 19 consecutive wins on your papers who ran in many grade 1s in different states.
I’m glad John is enjoying reading the post cards. He helped make YOU who you are and made it possible for us to be close to you. Enjoy your Tuesday….the bluegrass will be growing long soon and grazing will be so delicious.

What a bright spot these diary posts have become to so many people. Hope you never run out of topics or enthusiasm to keep it up.

LOVE YOU ZENNY,,,,,,,YOU ARE THE QUEEN OF QUEENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OraJean Stevenson
Dear Queen-Z & Team-Z,
Thanks for sharing the other half of your JC Papers. I had no idea how detailed it is to bring a horse to the races. The trainer must be a very organized and detail-oriented person, and the JC Papers are probably just a small part of his job. Dottie, your job must be very inticate also. I would love to hear about it. Thanks for taking your time to keep us posted on what’s going on.
Have a great day, Zenny. Hugs to all. Fondly, OraJean

What contest? and what do I do with post cards? Looking forward to hearing from you. Hope I’m not too late?
Amanda Gilliland
My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, Thanks so much for showing the back of your Jockey Club Papers. It is so impressive to see all those Zenyatta written on the back. Wow! I feel like I’m in the inner circle to see your papers. I have learned so much about racing from you. Thanks for sharing about John reading your cards to Dottie. I think all the cards should be put in a book and call it “Zenyatta Fan Family”. I know I would love to read all the cards. You Posts & Fan Family Posts are educational & very uplifting to me. It is diffently a bright spot everyday for me to read. I just pray my cards get there by Sat that I mailed yesterday. I love you, Zenyatta and Sending Hugs & Kisses From Alabama With Love, Amanda G.

Toi: I, too, saw that episode last night. I kept hoping they would ask him about his hat. I thought it was so cool that with all the stuff Alfie collects, he would also have a Zenyatta hat.
Zenny/John/Dottie: My postcard went out in today’s mail. Thank you for the opportunity!
Trisha Veazey
Hey 19! Thanks for the info. There is so much to remember.
Have a great day gorgeous
