HAPPY THURSDAY TO ALL!
Yesterday was such a fun day! As I mentioned, Isabelle wanted to RIDE ME ONE MORE TIME for her Birthday. Here is the picture of us out ‘playing and exercising’ together. We look GREAT!
John took lots of photos for Isabelle and put them on a disc for her to keep. We hope she enjoys them…all of them.
Then, notice my saddle towel. When we were at Oaklawn Park for the Apple Blossom this year, the track made a pretty pink saddle towel for Mario to keep. The last few days, he has brought it out to the barn and has put it on me. I do look good in PINK…if I say so myself. (Of course, I also look good in PINK/GREEN as well.) This saddle towel is going to be something Mario will cherish forever.
I have continued to have so many visitors. I just think it is amazing the way people love to come and see me. I must say, I am quite flattered by this!
60 Minutes has been working with Dottie on filming my trip to Kentucky on Monday. They are getting security clearances now to film my leaving the barn and traveling to the airport in CA. This is so special.
I must say, I also love reading all of YOUR comments on the Diary. I will ask if they are going to show my ZENYATTA APPRECIATION DAY on TV. I believe TVG will show lots of it. Not sure about any other channel. I will try and find out for you.
The schedule for the day seems to be staying as we reviewed in an earlier Diary. After the horses leave the paddock to go to the track for the 6th race, I will go there. Then when the 6th race finishes, I will go to the front part of the race track. Too cute!
I also saw that some of you wanted Steve to wear the Jockey Cam one more time…so we could all have one more joyous ride together. John said he’d get the batteries charged up…and see if it will work! Oh, technology! Let’s see how it turns out!
It is all getting so exciting. I am one lucky girl!
With love,
Hugs~

I won’t get a chance to write another post before you leave for KY so I wanted to wish you very safe and happy traveling. We all have been so fortunate to have been able to enjoy you for so many years. We’ll be hearing from you in KY and I’ll be watching your good-bye party and parade hopefully on TVG on Sunday. So looking forward to another segment on 60 Minutes. You are truly the greatest and have been so inspirational. You fill my heart to it’s capacity. Love and best wishes forever, Lori

I have just finished reading all of your entries in this wonderful diary of yours and you can’t imagine how much fun it has been. I was hoping you would come up with something like this to keep us fans posted of your whereabouts and all the wonderful things that await you in your new life. It has been a ton of fun following your career and I look forward to receiving your newsletter (I just signed up for it)and you keeping me posted of all your activities (dates with boys and all). Send my best to your family, TEAM ZENYATTA. Such fine people.

YOU LOOK MARVELOUS DARLING JUST MARVELOUS.
Enjoy every moment of the day. To team Z you are all great. I never followed races, or horses till Zenyatta came into the light. She has done more for this sport than any horse has done in the past. Up there with the greatest Zen.You told them at your auction you had a goal ….and now it is here. I am too old to make a trip to see you but follow everything on can on line Thanks Zenyatta for your spirit.

Hi Zen! Nothing would keep me from seeing you on Monday at Keenland track except really bad winter weather. Wisconsin gets cold and snowy!! I can not wait to see you again. I’ll bring some St. Nick treats for you. It is exciting for 60 minutes to continue your story. I will be able to watch that but I can’t get TVG. TVG was so kind to hand out DVD’s of most of your races at the Breeders Cup. I cherish this. The gal was really surprised when I thanked and hugged her! What I would love, is a DVD of you before the races, playing to the crowd, dancing with your beauty–it just warms my heart. It is so adorable. Even after the races you did that. Perhaps a person could pay for one and part of procedes could go to the Horse Rescue program or Cancer charity. You could always have you walking around in the barn, or kicking up hay too on the DVD.
Have so much fun on Dec 5th. Don’t tire yourself too much. Luv & kisses

Dear Dancing Queen,
It was an honor to see you in person and watch you race in the 2010 Breeder’s Cup Classic. I sreamed so much that I lost my voice. What memories you have given us all.
You have many times over proven yourself to be a champion on the racetrack. But, more importantly you have with your dance steps, or the simple way you turn your head and look at people with you eyes, excited us and made people think and become excited about life and how life paths change. And so, it is time for you to show us how that is done by the journey you will take to Kentucky.
We are sure yo see you in the eyes of your
future colts and fillies. What a thrill that will be. But, make sure to remind all those close to you and love you, that you can be a “Working Mom” too!
There are many way that you can continue to inspire and encourage we humans.
Thank you to those who have shared you with us.
Thank you Zenyatta for allowing us to race with you. What a thrill it has been!!

Hey pretty girl..just received my commemorative collector’s issue from Blood Horse and my 8 x 10…OH MY, it is a gorgeous photo! I can’t wait to get a perfect frame for it and hang it on my office wall with some of the other great horses…Thunder Gulch, Barbaro, Big Brown, Street Sense. Hoping I can make it to Kentucky to see you Monday. It would be the greatest thing that has ever happened to me if I could just touch your nose! You are such an inspiration and a beauty!
Candace
I love reading your diary posts & so hope you continue to keep us updated from Kentucky. I can’t wait to see on 60 Minutes, again! You are one special lady and thank you for painting the Moneighs to help your friends~

You are my life Zenyatta, I love you so much <3 I think my most memorable moment of you is when you got out of the tunnel on breeders cup day at churchill, you turned because you were scared and when you turned you turned about 2 feet away from me and looked right at me <3 I love you so much, best wishes for Team Z!
Tania
I cry every time I read these too!

Z,
I hope you post (with pictures) about your last moments with groom, Mario Espinoza. I think of him each time I think of you and I can’t help to think how said he’s going to be when you leave. I hope he’ll be able to come visit you.

Zen-It is past my bedtime, but I made my mom make one last post for me before I go to bed tonight & have wonderful dreams of you…It is Friday & I was hoping Dottie would make another post for us before your big day Sunday, but I am sure all of you are very busy with the festivities. I told all of the kids at school that your website was going to have a kids section for all of us “little-fillies!” I cannot wait to see it! It looks like is is going to be great just like you. Well, I miss you already & you haven’t even left yet. My mom is already crying so I think we should say goodnight sweet one.
Love, Ella

Hi Z,
The days have flown by and Sunday is very near now.The Thoroughbred mags are full of Zenyatta. Funny your fans have always known how great you are since that first race, and now they have finally figured it out. They missed so much along the way, things your fans always realized.
You will have beautiful babies, they say the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree, I hope your fans don’t expect your babes to measure up to you. You are a blessed gift, a unique creature, a rare gem. They don’t come along often, like a comet shooting across the sky, fleeting. They will be beautiful, we hope they have your wonderful personality, your gentleness, your all knowing. You are all knowing, you could teach mankind a lot I believe. You are a very spiritual creature, that is why you are so loved.
Thanks to John and the “team” you are healthy and sound, what more could those that love you want. I will miss the racing but 1 injury just around the corner could take your soundness away. I would never want that to happen to you.
I will be there Sunday and I want you to strut your stuff Queenie, leave them cheering. For me I will be a broken mass of tears, but that’s cause I love you.
Shannon J.
LIftin’ off in a few short hours…Can’t wait to see you again Pretty Girl!!! So excited to be there for your big farewell party…wouldn’t have missed it for the world!

Dear sweet Zenyatta. I did it-Icalled Direct TV today and changed my service so I can see you on TVG on Sunday. I can’t wait. I also plan to see you next year as I live in Virginia, and Lane’s End is not that far away. Tell them they need to establish regular “Zenyatta Days” for your fans to come and visit. Love and hugs!
S
Hope they have lots of tissue onsite Sunday! We’re crying just reading the post each day…there could be a flood when we all see you on the track for the last time.
Louise Bland
“Z” – We’re all sitting around with kleenex in our hands. I’m not sure why we cry so much unless it’s the beauty of your being! It’s your fabulous body, the way you carry yourself, the pride you take and that little shy sensitive bout your do with your head at times. I’m not sure I could stand to be away from you if I were one of the owners. Hugs, back at ya! A kiss too!
Sue
Perhaps unknowingly, or perhaps not, YOU HAVE BLESSED ALL THAT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO YOUR VERY BEING!! Thank you dear Zenyatta for bringing such joy & MEANING to so many. I love all the blogs; being a part of such an immense “goodness”. I cry often, fearful that your new life will extinguish this’ daily highlight’ that so many of us have come to count on. Travel safe, my dear, & I pray that one day you will return to Socal to live out your post children life. Just having you ‘close by’ is good enough.
LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU Sue
Sue
I don’t want it to end but I know it has to…I will miss you dearly…I love you and God Bless You…Have a happy retirement, I know you will give us some beautiful babies…
Peg Lyons
I will be watching you prance one more time. You are gorgeous and have really brought so much class to the racing world. You will be missed tremendously! I look forward to watching you become a mommy and to see your babies grow into fine horses as well. But no horse will ever match what you have accomplished, ever! Love you and stay well!
