HAPPY THURSDAY TO ALL!
Yesterday was such a fun day! As I mentioned, Isabelle wanted to RIDE ME ONE MORE TIME for her Birthday. Here is the picture of us out ‘playing and exercising’ together. We look GREAT!
John took lots of photos for Isabelle and put them on a disc for her to keep. We hope she enjoys them…all of them.
Then, notice my saddle towel. When we were at Oaklawn Park for the Apple Blossom this year, the track made a pretty pink saddle towel for Mario to keep. The last few days, he has brought it out to the barn and has put it on me. I do look good in PINK…if I say so myself. (Of course, I also look good in PINK/GREEN as well.) This saddle towel is going to be something Mario will cherish forever.
I have continued to have so many visitors. I just think it is amazing the way people love to come and see me. I must say, I am quite flattered by this!
60 Minutes has been working with Dottie on filming my trip to Kentucky on Monday. They are getting security clearances now to film my leaving the barn and traveling to the airport in CA. This is so special.
I must say, I also love reading all of YOUR comments on the Diary. I will ask if they are going to show my ZENYATTA APPRECIATION DAY on TV. I believe TVG will show lots of it. Not sure about any other channel. I will try and find out for you.
The schedule for the day seems to be staying as we reviewed in an earlier Diary. After the horses leave the paddock to go to the track for the 6th race, I will go there. Then when the 6th race finishes, I will go to the front part of the race track. Too cute!
I also saw that some of you wanted Steve to wear the Jockey Cam one more time…so we could all have one more joyous ride together. John said he’d get the batteries charged up…and see if it will work! Oh, technology! Let’s see how it turns out!
It is all getting so exciting. I am one lucky girl!
With love,
Hugs~

I want so much to see you one more time!!! Do you know yet what will happen when you get to Kentucky? Can we get close enough to take pictures? Where will we need to be? I’m in TN, and it’s a 3-hour trip that I won’t miss for anything if I get a chance to see you dance one more time. From one woman to another, you have touched my life. Never, ever give up. Be proud and happy. Love you, Zenyatta!
Donna
I guess it’s best that you retire safe and healthy, but it’s sure sad to think we’ll never see you run again! I have never cared as much for a horse as I do Queen Z. I hope they let fans come to see her in Kentucky. I am an East Coast fan – and I’d make the trip! I hope someone posts video of of the parades at Hollywood Park and Keeneland, for those of us who can’t get there or in case it’s not on TV.

My heart breaks but I will try to be brave like you.

Go Zenyatta! Awesome mare – greatest of all time!
HollyT
I love each and every one of these posts. This horse has meant the world to me and I know to so many other people. Its not every day a mare this special comes around (even if she’d have never won a race, her personality would outshine those around her).
I attended my first Breeders Cup to see her this year and was lucky to see her along Longfield Avenue. I was so amazed to get to see her so close and what amazed me more was watching the other fans like myself. As a horse person, to see the reaction, was a big deal. I’ve been around horses my entire 26 years and not once have I seen a horse touch so many people.
I hope Zenyatta has influenced more people into the horse world. They are truly healing creatures. I don’t know where I’d be without my horses.
Thank you Zenyatta for bringing the love of horses back to people.

You & Isabelle look like you had a glorious ride! Did I see a smile on your face? You look as healthy as ever in the photo & that is wonderful. The jockey-cam is also a great idea! Yes, make sure John charges the batteries & does a second check just to make sure!!! For those of us, that cannot make it to CA, this will be fantastic…I will look for you on TVG & hope that even after 60 Minutes follows you on the 6th, I hope we can pursuade them to follow up on you in the futre. I really think that 60 Minutes piece that aired just before this year’s BC really provided many of us with that personal connection that we so need. Thanks again and again Dottie for the wonderful effort to keep all of us connected! As with many, my eyes are full of tears…

I can’t imagine racing without you. No matter what was going on in my life it was always comforting to know you were out there getting ready for your next race. I really hope to visit you at Lane’s End since I never got to see you race in person. Best Wishes, Cynthia Hestand

Queen Z,
You made running like a girl fabulous! Your retirement will be wonderful, you will get to be in a pasture and have little ones to teach horsey things too. You will enjoy it. Change is not always bad, look at as a new adventure in your life!
Stephanie Quilichini
Very Exciting Post Today!! Looks like 60 Minutes can’t get enough of Zenyatta like the rest of us!! Super Excited to see all the great features coming up:)
Janet
You are one very special girl Miss Z and you do look great in the photo with Isabelle. You have touched the hearts of many people in a way no other horse has done. I wish I could see you in person but since I can’t do that, I’m hoping there will be something for your fans to see on TV. We love you very much and we won’t forget you. Keep posting so that we can keep up with your activities.
Ginny Wood
Thanks for the updates Queen Z. My hats off to Dottie for taking the time everyday to keep us abreast of the Queen and her day. I know words will not be able to express how your connections will feel when they leave you in KY next week. God’s speed and God’s grace to you in your retirement and your new job as a Mom!

Zenyatta what a beutiful picture of you and Isabelle. Boy is she lucky. I feel so strongly about you being the Horse of the Year and the winner of the last race. Like I said before Blame just got lucky. I am glad 60 Minutes will be taping your big event. I can’t get the horse racing channel in my area. Enjoy your time with all your barn family and YOU look BEAUTIFUL in any color.Love and kisses, Shari

The best word I can think of to describe you is majestic! You are the only horse besides my own that can move me to tears just by being you! Love you!
