HAPPY THURSDAY TO ALL!
Yesterday was such a fun day! As I mentioned, Isabelle wanted to RIDE ME ONE MORE TIME for her Birthday. Here is the picture of us out ‘playing and exercising’ together. We look GREAT!
John took lots of photos for Isabelle and put them on a disc for her to keep. We hope she enjoys them…all of them.
Then, notice my saddle towel. When we were at Oaklawn Park for the Apple Blossom this year, the track made a pretty pink saddle towel for Mario to keep. The last few days, he has brought it out to the barn and has put it on me. I do look good in PINK…if I say so myself. (Of course, I also look good in PINK/GREEN as well.) This saddle towel is going to be something Mario will cherish forever.
I have continued to have so many visitors. I just think it is amazing the way people love to come and see me. I must say, I am quite flattered by this!
60 Minutes has been working with Dottie on filming my trip to Kentucky on Monday. They are getting security clearances now to film my leaving the barn and traveling to the airport in CA. This is so special.
I must say, I also love reading all of YOUR comments on the Diary. I will ask if they are going to show my ZENYATTA APPRECIATION DAY on TV. I believe TVG will show lots of it. Not sure about any other channel. I will try and find out for you.
The schedule for the day seems to be staying as we reviewed in an earlier Diary. After the horses leave the paddock to go to the track for the 6th race, I will go there. Then when the 6th race finishes, I will go to the front part of the race track. Too cute!
I also saw that some of you wanted Steve to wear the Jockey Cam one more time…so we could all have one more joyous ride together. John said he’d get the batteries charged up…and see if it will work! Oh, technology! Let’s see how it turns out!
It is all getting so exciting. I am one lucky girl!
With love,
Hugs~

Ms Zenyatta, so jealous I am of Isabelle and actually all the people in Southern California that are priveleged to see and visit with you. I will be on the watch for 60 Minutes special, Bless Them, and HTV for your Fan Farewell. The only reason I have the Sports Package is because of you. Love, Lisa g

Ode to Zenyatta
“Bring me your best,” said Zenyatta.
Your bright shining boys of the year.
Bring them all
from north, south, east and west.
Bring them here.”
I will dance for my people.
The crowd will roar.
They wait for the gate,
the slamming of the door.
My rider so sure, gathers me now.
Together we fly past the pretty boy crowd.
On and on in our flight,
like one beast of thunder.
A thing of beauty and of wonder.
For I am Zenyatta, the gypsy queen.
The mightiest mare there has ever been.

Zenyatta, I love you all the way from Chicago. You will be closer to us when you are in Kentucky. We watched you on TV when you took one last trip to the winner’s circle. The winner’s circle, which is yours no matter what. You are the best. We will miss you and wish you health and a great time with your babies and romping in the pasture at Lanes End.

Dear Connections,
Thank you for this lovely gift, words from Zenyatta, how sweet, and appropriate, for those of us who love her. You folks are good caretakers of this jewel, for I feel so happy that she is retiring 100% sound. You started her later, which gave her bones more time to get strong, which they needed to be to carry that big girl around the guys. If only folks in the racing industry would learn from the care you gave Zenyatta. More horses would train, race and win, without breakdowns, if they would just wait another year. Zen was not a baby anymore, and she had that extra year to learn the ropes, so she was set up physically and mentally to do her job, which turns out, she loved. How many race horses do not love their work, cause of being hurried to bring in the cash. So to Zenyatta’s connections, you done good. You gave this old gal a few years of shear pleasure watching your gal fly over the track. She was blessed to have Mike Smith for a pilot, he loved her and was tune into her, and her close folks, her groom and hotwalker, who touched her all the time, who filled her heart with their love, so she knew every minute of her day, that she had love, those folks get lots of credit for her being such a happy horse, and that trainer, you had Z. He must be some kind of genius, cause he knew just what you needed and how to help you be such a fantastatic champion. You are Horse of the Decade, and maybe the century, Zenyatta, and your people deserve to enjoy all the rewards of being there for you, cause they all did great, and I know your folks who bought you for only $60,000 know that you made them some big bucks, but what you really made them was Champions, just like you are.

I would just like to say that queen zenyatta is loved by everyone in Cape Breton,Nova Scotia,Canada. She is one of the greatest horses to live…and im thankfull ive got to see her do what she does in real time ( on tv ;p) . and hope to one day own/trian a horse as great as her. im only 16 and thanks to Zenyatta and the great barbaro & a local harness racing horse named casino … i hope to make a stap at being great in horse racing. Zenyatta has touched my life greatly , i cried when she lost but id love to see blame do what she did in that race! I own a 3 1/2yro paint gelding who sadly was diagnosed with sever high ringbone ..a few months ago … apperently he had it before i bought him .. My horse has his good and bad days ..and on his bad days i tell him about zenyatta & barbaro and how great they both were/are ,and how when they run they are/were both like poetry in motion..and how when i watch him run in the field he looks just as great as they did/do & how one day when its gets to painful i will let him free to run with barbaro & the others. I wish queen Z all the best in her future and i will never forget this supper mare noor the great barbaro.rip…
ps. who ever is posting these on here for zeny ..thank you very much and it will be greatly apprciated if you could perhaps provide some tips on keeping a ringbone horse…my horse means the world to me and it brings tears and a broken heart to me to think of him not having a full normal life.
With lots of love to every racehorse and that one special mare

I hope it’s not the strain of your 2010 racing campaign. I prayed and cried my heart out during Breeders Cup week and went into a dark, deep depression after your unfair defeat. You are still perfect in my eyes, sweet Zenny. I love you and pray for you every night before I go to bed. I pray for all of us.
