Good Morning EVERYONE!
I wanted to wish all of you a wonderful ST. PATRICK’S DAY! I understand that this is a FUN day where everyone wears GREEN and eats special types of food. Dottie was telling me that Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Soda Bread, and Chocolate Guinness Cake are all part of a very popular dinner for humans on March 17th!
The only part of this that I’ve ever heard about is Guinness!
Being a horse who always wants to be part of the FUN, I asked Charles about how I could celebrate today with my friends. He suggested that I stay with eating GREEN food! Thus, I’m off to go eat my HEALTHY GREEN GRASS! TOO CUTE!
In honor of this fun holiday in MARCH, MARCH MADNESS, the release of my Zenyatta Bronze by Nina, and all of your wonderful kindness, Dottie and I have been thinking of something special we could do. We came up with what we think is a GREAT IDEA! I want to share it with you now.
As you know, March Madness in College Basketball is really getting underway as of today. I mentioned in the last Diary to get your GRIDS / BRACKETS out and follow along. Well, Dottie and I have been thinking of another FUN THING for all of US to do. We want to give the opportunity for one LUCKY FAN TO WIN A ZENYATTA BRONZE. This will be the PRIZE! (I hope you like this idea!)
Here are the guidelines for the CONTEST:
1) So many of you have been so kind to ME and commented OFTEN that I have meant something special to YOU in YOUR LIFE, to RACING, to a FRIEND. You have had so much FUN following all of the different moments in my life.
2) Based upon this thought, I would like for you to write on a postcard in one paragraph…why you feel this way. (Special to YOU, to RACING, to a friend of yours, or an impact I have made in another way.)
3) Please put your thoughts on a postcard.
4) Your NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER must be included on the card.
NEXT WEEK, I will give you the address to mail the postcard or cards to for your participation in the contest. You may send in more than one.
By submitting the card for the Contest, you are also granting permission to ME to use your words in my Diary or anything else I might do in the future.
The cards will all be put into a big container. Then they will be drawn out in a timely fashion (dates will be given on the web-site) in the same type of format as March Madness. 64 cards will be drawn from the entire group. Then from this 64, we will draw the SWEET SIXTEEN….next the ELITE EIGHT CARDS….and ultimately the FINAL 4.
From these 4, we will post the comments on the Web-site, for ALL OF YOU TO SHARE IN WHAT WAS WRITTEN. The WINNER will be selected from the FINAL FOUR cards.
I hope you have fun with this! The mailing address for the postcards is forthcoming!I did want to offer the opportunity to you to have a CHANCE to WIN a Nina Kaiser BRONZE of ME! Your comments about them have been so touching!
I’ll keep you posted on the next step in our contest!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day!)

Zenyatta,
Happy St. Patrick’s day to you and your friends at Lane’s End and CA. You look very beautiful in your picture. Great idea Z/Dottie. Postcards will coming your way. Stay Healthy and Happy big mama. :)

The contest sounds like a wonderful idea. Team Zenyatta surely comes up with some great ideas. What a group you are! I am not much into basketball. The most news I hear about the sport is that the Kings are leaving Sacramento. That is making headlines around here. So what I need to know is what does a bracket and what does a grid have to do with basketball??? Enjoy your day. Do you still get Guiness every day now that you are out of training and in a “delicate” condition? I will toast you with one tonight at dinner. Yes, corned beef and cabbage!
Janis
Zeny, thank you so much for continuing your “conversation” with us. Miss watching you race, but the pictures and dialogue help. Take care.

A prayer for those in need, from the Breastplate of our good Saint Patrick of Ireland 387-464: “Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit, Christ when I stand, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me, Christ in the heart of friend and stranger.”

Hope you are having a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day, Zenyatta! What a wonderful contest that you are having for your fans to have the opportunity and chance to win one of your bronze statues. I am sure that it will be interesting and quite exciting to read all the entries. I will be looking forward to reading the entries that are included here.
It is so thoughtful of you and your connections to always keep your fans involved and to keep giving back to them.
You just keep on sparkling bright Zenyatta!
My Love & Blessings to you

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, Top of the Day to You! You look so lovely on the green grass for St.Patrick’s Day! Charles looks handsome also. I bet you & he has had some wonderful conversations since you have been at Land’s End. He has a dream job to be able to spend time with you each day. I am so excited beyond words to hear what you & Dottie have planned for your Fan Family! A Bronze Nina Statue!!! Zenyatta, you have always given so much to everyone your whole life and now to share a bronze with a very lucky fan is just a dream that could come true for any of us! WOW! My jaw actually dropped open when I read that. My dogs ran up to me because they thought something was wrong.
It will definetly be hard to write what you mean to me in one paragraph but I will do my best! I could actually write a novel on how much you mean to me. Dottie, thanks so much for giving to the Fan Family such a wonderful opportinity to own a Nina’s Bronze Statue of The Great Zenyatta! Sending Hugs & Kisses with Love From Alabama
Helen & Guido

Z – OUR HEARTS ARE FULL OF LOVE FOR YOU AND YOUR TEAM. I wonder if your body feels a little different to you, just like women can often tell that something is a little different when they are first pregnant. Wishing you warm days and nights and lots of comforts…

Zenny-Love that picture of you with snow and ice on your whiskers. No problem with that today though! When are you going to be receiving visitors? Really want to see you.

Good Evening Zenyatta: Team Z never ceases to amaze me. Thank you for this very exciting possibility.
@ DJ and Paula Higgins: What a lovely gesture -refraining from sending a postcard. You are the personification of the generous spirit of Team Z and most especially of our Queen. May you continue to be blessed through all your days ahead.

Dear Zenyatta I wrote this afternoon and wanted to say good night. I have been so busy in the evenings. I fell on the ice and I have to go to PT some evenings so when I get home I do a million and one things. The children are writing their books and they are GREAT. You are so much a part of their lives. I just can’t believe how much. If they could get to you they would just love you so much. They bring in horses stuffed, plastic, or pictures and compare them to you. Now that is to cute. Zenyatta you have the kindest fans. Kathryn deserves a THANK YOU for thinking of my students. I will read what she wrote tomorrow at school. They get so much out hearing that others think that they are important. Kathryn hit our area on the head. We are a very poor area with a lot of unemployment. But I am proud of East Liverpool Schools and we all try very hard. Well my sweet sweet girl. I love you and thank Dottie for giving you a beautiful voice. Hugs and Kisses from Shari in Ohio XXXOOO
PS Hi Dawn have a good weekend. God bless :)
Linda from Vermont
This post card idea sounds like lots of fun! I am already thinking of things I want to say!
Dani
Another lovely Sarah photo of you and your friend Charles. You look very content munching on your own little patch of Saint Patrick’s Day greens. (Your socks look particularly cute in this photo for some reason).
.
Only you and Team Z would think of such a kind and generous and fun! way to show appreciation for your fans. Good luck to everyone. :)
Julie DuVall
What a wonderful idea for a contest! I’m sure you will get LOTS of wonderful paragraphs that will make you blush. Time to start thinking of what I want to write on my card … :)
Kathryn Cogswell
RPK: Only me, Robbie, but I see where what I wrote could be easily construed to your point. Here, we recently gained lovely things from two women, deceased of my family, on both sides. To think of wanting more just seemed too much, but I DO so want others to enjoy the chance this contest offers. OK? Kc.

Hi Zenny: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!! I thought of you a few times today. I work in NYC. On my way across town this morning, I past a store called: Crazy Bananas and I thought of you liking bananas. Then this afternoon, I was walking up Madison and by chance I looked up, and saw a window sign: The Zen Spa. Again I thought of you. Then there was the St. Patrick’s Day parade over on 5th. A whole bunch of people were wearing green, Guinness beer, t-shirts. Again I thought of you and I sure hoped you had an extra Guinness beer today in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!
Now how cool is this! We all have a chance to win a bronze statue of you!! Wow, what a great, great idea. But I must say, it will be difficult searching for the words to express how you have touched my life. I will try though. Good thing you gave us some time to think about what we want to say. Thanks again for this opportunity. Love, Linda
Mary Catherine
Dear Zenyatta! I will be sending my postcards! Thank you for this great opportunity. What are the odds of meeting you one day as a prize?
Barbara C
How exciting, this sounds like it will be so much fun, like you Zenny, can’t wait to participate. lol
S
I will be submitting and if by some miracle I win, I would be happy to give it a home in Shari’s classroom.

Top o’ the evening to you, Zenyatta
Too cool, one for the budget crowd, splendid. Wow, all in one paragraph, that’s a toughie, but I’ll try. I just tried to call sby to let her know about this, her daughter is the horse-woman, she’s studying breeding & management. She’s hoping to be working in Kentucky after graduation. She would love to have this, I’m sure. It’s a beautiful bronze statue of Zenyatta. Wow, this too cool. :) Well, did you put on your dancing wraps and jigged it up a little bit, by the way, the grass at your place is really getting green. Pretty soon the trees will be in full regalia, yours look like they might be red buds?
Have a good night, and dreams.
Lisa in Colorado
Love you, beautiful girl. What a star, what a amilemaker you are!!! Thank you and your connections.
tony and sue
We’ll be putting our heads together to put the winning paragraph on a postcard…:-) wishful thinking, isn’t it?
Good Luck to everyone who chooses to enter the contest. It’s just another generous act on behalf of our Queen by her team.
