Good Morning EVERYONE!
I wanted to wish all of you a wonderful ST. PATRICK’S DAY! I understand that this is a FUN day where everyone wears GREEN and eats special types of food. Dottie was telling me that Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Soda Bread, and Chocolate Guinness Cake are all part of a very popular dinner for humans on March 17th!
The only part of this that I’ve ever heard about is Guinness!
Being a horse who always wants to be part of the FUN, I asked Charles about how I could celebrate today with my friends. He suggested that I stay with eating GREEN food! Thus, I’m off to go eat my HEALTHY GREEN GRASS! TOO CUTE!
In honor of this fun holiday in MARCH, MARCH MADNESS, the release of my Zenyatta Bronze by Nina, and all of your wonderful kindness, Dottie and I have been thinking of something special we could do. We came up with what we think is a GREAT IDEA! I want to share it with you now.
As you know, March Madness in College Basketball is really getting underway as of today. I mentioned in the last Diary to get your GRIDS / BRACKETS out and follow along. Well, Dottie and I have been thinking of another FUN THING for all of US to do. We want to give the opportunity for one LUCKY FAN TO WIN A ZENYATTA BRONZE. This will be the PRIZE! (I hope you like this idea!)
Here are the guidelines for the CONTEST:
1) So many of you have been so kind to ME and commented OFTEN that I have meant something special to YOU in YOUR LIFE, to RACING, to a FRIEND. You have had so much FUN following all of the different moments in my life.
2) Based upon this thought, I would like for you to write on a postcard in one paragraph…why you feel this way. (Special to YOU, to RACING, to a friend of yours, or an impact I have made in another way.)
3) Please put your thoughts on a postcard.
4) Your NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER must be included on the card.
NEXT WEEK, I will give you the address to mail the postcard or cards to for your participation in the contest. You may send in more than one.
By submitting the card for the Contest, you are also granting permission to ME to use your words in my Diary or anything else I might do in the future.
The cards will all be put into a big container. Then they will be drawn out in a timely fashion (dates will be given on the web-site) in the same type of format as March Madness. 64 cards will be drawn from the entire group. Then from this 64, we will draw the SWEET SIXTEEN….next the ELITE EIGHT CARDS….and ultimately the FINAL 4.
From these 4, we will post the comments on the Web-site, for ALL OF YOU TO SHARE IN WHAT WAS WRITTEN. The WINNER will be selected from the FINAL FOUR cards.
I hope you have fun with this! The mailing address for the postcards is forthcoming!I did want to offer the opportunity to you to have a CHANCE to WIN a Nina Kaiser BRONZE of ME! Your comments about them have been so touching!
I’ll keep you posted on the next step in our contest!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(Have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day!)

Hi Z and Dottie and teams, what a wonderful idea and I love the way you are formatting it exactly like basketball’s March Madness tournament. TOO CUTE and quite creative and brilliant. And as always you have structured it to give everyone an equal chance to win. Enjoy the green grass and, I hope, blue skies and sun on St. Patrick’s Day. You are so GORGEOUS and such a healing force for all of us in so many ways (to those in poor health, grief and loss, sadness, lost jobs and others just needing hope to go on. My husband died one year ago yesterday and since then I have poured all my passion and love into all things YOU, and it has helped me so much. Thank you and yours for giving us all so much love and hope, kindness and inspiration.
@ Dawn Conrad–how is your health? We haven’t heard much of late (unless I missed a post) and my fingers are crossed that you are continuing to improve. Love to you and everyone on this list, Karen

Now that IS a great idea!! But one paragraph will be difficult..but for a chance to have a bronze statue: not impossible. Thanks for coming up with this!! Enjoy your day!!
Linda
Great idea and will be participating. How about winning a viewing or meeting of you as a great reward.

Zendotti, May you and yours have more and more of the many blessings you so richly deserve. The generosity, thoughtfulness, and creativity of Teams Z are a wonder to behold. Also, it did not go without notice that you mentionede using our words in “my diary or anything else I might do in the future”. This is certainly enticing and a grand mystery for us all to ponder.
Thanks to the reminder from Chris Balmes, I’m now going to Amazon to donate a wee bit more than $5 for the lovely, courageous people in Japan.
Peaceful hearts and courage to ALL.
Mary
Top of the Morning to you Zenyatta!
I see you are indeed eating “green” grass. I think they should have put a little green bandana on you, just for fun. I’m not Irish, I just have fun on this day. Enjoy you Guiness! (I don’t drink, either, I’m kinda boring, but I do love you and horseracing) Hooves up to you on this day of the Irish. Hugs and Prayers

Love this idea. Bet it takes a whole convoy of USPS 18-wheelers to get all of the cards there.
Would love to see a picture of all of the cards once they are received. Bet Jerry would love doing that with his new camera. You may have to bring in some people to just help handle all of those postcards. They will be coming from all over the world!

Wow you and Dottie have been busy. That is a neat ideaLadies. I will definatey join in the fun. I could come up with a term paper about all of the good things Team Z (East & West) have done. How about Zenspired for a baby name??? See what Dottie thinks of that Zenyatta. Give everybody a “high hoof” for me girl. Love you. Secsea Dance, Salawgi, Simon and Picasso.

@Karen Mitchell, My condolences on your sadness. What a joy that you found Zenyatta. YOUR words are also an inspiration.
@Dawn Conrad, I, too, have been thinking
about how you might be doing.

Zen that is going to be some BIG container to hold all of these cards. After this contest, let’s do another one — let’s all pitch in a certain (not large) amount and give some lucky winner a visit to Zenyatta!!

Dear All: With the delightful offer of a Nina Kaiser ‘Zenyatta’ Bronze, something to share seems appropriate .. . in my time, nearing the seventh decade, more abundance than I could have imagined has been ours, especially the gift of the arts, in many forms. Someone wise once counseled a class I was privileged to attend, always to use a 5-cent word, even when you had a 50-cent one you liked better; so, here is a thought .. . my people have shared large, fine-quality sculpture, which came to mean more to my children than I could have dreamed. The arts, en masse are either assaulted outright, or neglected to destruction. Music education, the sense that every child comes with song and balance and love of beauty, no longer competes successfully with the more dire realities of life, but it should, because it is from those springs that solutions to the formidable crises of the world find expression and resolution. As I have gathered the work of emerging and established artists, appreciated music, in memory or only in my imagination, it seems a good idea for me — and perhaps others of us similarly with enough mileage and material collections — to send in our paragraph for Sheri Voltz Homeroom 215 in Ohio. A region juggling impacts to the economy, and the family unit, sure; but rich, if there are teachers like Shari. It seems, for me, at this stage, best to pass along any gift of the arts I can offer. Fans and extended family of this great mare SHOULD share an image of her in their homes .. . art in the home brings a glow all its own, to everyone there. This time, though, for me [and the recent loss of two family matriarchs in their 90’s, both with wonderful houses full of beauty, figures in these thoughts], when I send along my appreciation for ‘Our Lady of the Winner`s Circle, and Her Kind,’ I will emphasize the impact I watched her have on children, something nothing in their later life will take from them. Thank you for all that means to the future world. Kc.

What a great idea! Hope you’ve got vats to hold all the postcards! Like everyone else, I’d love to have a mini. The hardest part will be to condense my feelings to postcard size. Queen Z and Team Z are so special. Hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. My Tigers won their first game but lost today. This contest cheered me up!!

Happy St. Patricks day, from one Irish friend to you. Injoy your eating of the green, perhaps even a Guiness if they allow this. And to Dottie what an idea, we all are just like wow! As we all know we could never afford one. The responce will be something, but I for one will take a shot, and hope I make that 3 pointer. We love ya Z.
