HAPPY WEEKEND!
I truly want to THANK all of my fans for the total JOY you have expressed upon finding out that I AM IN FOAL! One fan, Barbara, sent this photo to Dottie yesterday. She took it of ME with her friend, Donna Kruck, 4 days before I left Barn 55! (I think Frank looks great here too. Love his T-shirt!) The encouragement by all of YOU for ME to become a wonderful MOM started so many months ago. I sincerely appreciate your kindness!
I also want to thank the fans who are sending ME my favorite craving of the moment, BANANAS. They are fabulous and very tasty! Charles and Sarah send a big THANK YOU as well. There is no reason now for them to make late night trips to the market to get some for me! YOU GUYS ARE TOO CUTE and so kind! You think of everything!
On another note, my dear jockey, Mikie, is riding some stakes races in Arkansas today. He just called Dottie and wanted to share this bit of news. As he was driving from the Airport to Oaklawn Park, there was a HUGE BILLBOARD of ME…winning last year’s Apple Blossom Handicap. It is on the point where Highway 30 meets Highway 70 on the way to the track. It is titled…WIN CITY, Hot Springs, Arkansas–OAKLAWN PARK! Mike commented that HE and I both look TERRIFIC in the photo! (Blush, Blush!)
I want to wish MIKE great luck with his racing today. Also, I have noticed that 2 of my very dear competitors from last year, Switch and St. Trinians, are both running in the Santa Margarita-Grade 1 at Santa Anita this afternoon. I won this race last year…and wish them both ALL THE BEST! This should be a very exciting contest!
Additionally, several prominent 3 year old stakes are taking place around the country today. I guess I know what I’ll be chatting about with my Lane’s End friends this weekend…GREAT RACING! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Please don’t forget…set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed tonight! Day-light savings time is here!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(With Special Blessings for our friends in JAPAN)

To “cindy in Seattle” – are we the local Z fan club!! I was at Oaklawn last year for the Apple Blossom and it was fantastic! The little gift shop was overwhelmed with Z fans buying everything in sight – most of the merchandise had both Zenyatta and Rachel imagines – didn’t matter, we all wanted souvenirs. I think the gift shop could have sold 3 times the amount of merchandise they had in stock.
I was so hoping for a good outcome for St. Trinians yesterday. Of all the horses that the Queen beat in her career, it was St. Trinians frantic, gutsy, determined effort against Z that really touched my heart. And I’m sending positive thoughts to Always a Princess. And congrats to Cloud Man.

I hope someone took a photo of that sign so you can post it :) And last night on HRTV they have a show called “Classic Countdown” and the Santa Margarita was the this weeks show, they countdown the top ten and guess who was number one? That is a real hard one LOL!!! Number one was you Zenyatta for your 2010 win. And to think that was just like yesterday, and here it has been a year since you won that. Brought back so much. We still miss you, but what a wonderful momma you will be. With much love Z.

Shizuka – The whole world is one with Japan right now with lots of powerful prayers for everyone’s safety. Just received e-mail from friends in Sendai where all available volunteers are helping rescue groups to offer food and blankets to the survivors. Many of my friends have gone without sleep in the assist. Last I heard there were 10,000 presumed dead. There is lots of work ahead.
Sending my prayers to everyone!!!
Z – thanks for putting a smile on Shizuka’s face! XOXO

Hi Z! I didn’t see your post until today (SundaY). They don’t show up on facebook or I missed it somehow. That is so nice that your friends are sending you goodies. You have some wonderful fans! I hope your Sunday is a good one! Love to you and all your friends in Kentucky!

Hi Missy Z,
Have a great week ahead. We will try to send you special card for your birthday. Did you ever try a hot fudge sundae with chocolate ice cream and bananas? Kelso who ran when we were kids, liked hot fudge sundaes (without bananas)–but we think you would like the bananas in them!!
We are sending prayers to Japan, too.
lots of love from cold dark New York state.

Zenyatta – do they slice up your bananas and serve them with your morning feed or do you chow down (very daintily of course) like you do with your pears?

@Barbara Wood,
Here’s a link about Always A Princess: http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/61898/california-filly-always-a-princess-retired
Also I saw someone on HRTV say she came out of the surgery well, but have not seen that on the internet yet.
I was really scared for her when I saw her laying down on the track, and then it was a couple of hours till drf said she stood up and got into the van. Thank goodness that never happened to Z!

Queen Z, the huge billboard with your picture is really COOL. I bet Mike was surprised to see it. I was at Santa Anita yesterday. Cloud Man won his maiden race. I am happy for your owners and John for the win. The Santa Margarita race was not good yesterday. Always A Princess got hurt during the race. I pray that her surgery goes well. Your two dear competitors, Switch and St. Trinians did well. Swich came in second and St. Trinians was fourth. I wish one of them won the race. Thank you for the update. We miss you soooo much and I love you.

@ Sue W – thanks for the cyber hugs! That’s why Zen fans are THE BEST! @Kathryn C – I just envision a young man wearing the Zenyatta BC cap coming out to find his OWN car has been vandalized or something. He’s messed with the WRONG Karma, boy! If he’s any kind of smart,he’ll find a way to get the cap back to me so his luck changes! LOL
