HAPPY WEEKEND!
I truly want to THANK all of my fans for the total JOY you have expressed upon finding out that I AM IN FOAL! One fan, Barbara, sent this photo to Dottie yesterday. She took it of ME with her friend, Donna Kruck, 4 days before I left Barn 55! (I think Frank looks great here too. Love his T-shirt!) The encouragement by all of YOU for ME to become a wonderful MOM started so many months ago. I sincerely appreciate your kindness!
I also want to thank the fans who are sending ME my favorite craving of the moment, BANANAS. They are fabulous and very tasty! Charles and Sarah send a big THANK YOU as well. There is no reason now for them to make late night trips to the market to get some for me! YOU GUYS ARE TOO CUTE and so kind! You think of everything!
On another note, my dear jockey, Mikie, is riding some stakes races in Arkansas today. He just called Dottie and wanted to share this bit of news. As he was driving from the Airport to Oaklawn Park, there was a HUGE BILLBOARD of ME…winning last year’s Apple Blossom Handicap. It is on the point where Highway 30 meets Highway 70 on the way to the track. It is titled…WIN CITY, Hot Springs, Arkansas–OAKLAWN PARK! Mike commented that HE and I both look TERRIFIC in the photo! (Blush, Blush!)
I want to wish MIKE great luck with his racing today. Also, I have noticed that 2 of my very dear competitors from last year, Switch and St. Trinians, are both running in the Santa Margarita-Grade 1 at Santa Anita this afternoon. I won this race last year…and wish them both ALL THE BEST! This should be a very exciting contest!
Additionally, several prominent 3 year old stakes are taking place around the country today. I guess I know what I’ll be chatting about with my Lane’s End friends this weekend…GREAT RACING! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Please don’t forget…set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed tonight! Day-light savings time is here!
With Love,
Hugs to All~(With Special Blessings for our friends in JAPAN)

I am so very pleased to hear that you are happy and well. I am amongst the many thankful fans who have been touched by you and all of the wonderful people who have taken such wonderful care of our special girl. You and all of your fellow equine friends are in my prayers. I will say a special prayer for you and your little baby. You will always be cherished and forever loved.
Elaine
Congratulations on being in foal! You will be a specular mother, I’m sure. You do everything with perfection! As a new grandmother myself, I will say there is nothing like a new life!
Kim Noble
You will be the best mom any foal ever had! Hope everyone keeps spoiling you rotten, you deserve every minute of it!

Another great post. Congratulations on your billboard and the awards to you and your team. You deserve all these honours because you are a super mare.
Your admirer Uncle Mo, son of Playa Maya, won today on his way to the Kentucky Derby. She must be proud of her colt. One day with luck on your side we may be cheering for one of your babies. Look after yourself, Queen Z.

Happy weekend!

funny you should mention arkansas, we are going back this year, for the 3rd year in a row. i believe it is one of the greatest racing venues i have been to. wonderful friendly people and the track it’s self so full of history. they really love their horses. of couse it might not seem the same without you. however the word is that blind luck is heading for the apple blossum. speaking of great mares, azeri’s giants causeway 3y old is working there…my oh my , i will look for your billboard, and whisper, i was there and saw the great mare, ZENYATTA..
with the trage
dy in japan, don’t forget to keep good thoughts for all, including the horses, azeri, silver charm..all of them…sorry to be so wordy, but the days sort of calls for it…good thoughts to all

Well, Zenny, do you know that “Yes! We Have No Bananas” is the title of a song by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn from the 1922 Broadway revue “Make It Snappy.” Sung first by Eddie Cantor, per Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes!_We_Have_No_Bananas, a historic banana shortage in Brazil is usually suggested as the inspiration for the song.
The chorus:
“Yes, we have no bananas
We have-a no bananas today.
We’ve string beans, and onions
Cabbageses, and scallions,
And all sorts of fruit and say
We have an old fashioned to-mah-to
A Long Island po-tah-to
But yes, we have no bananas.
We have no bananas today.”
So I hope we don’t have a reoccurrence of that original iconic event, now that you, Zenny are in foal!

Dear Z and Z Fans:
One of John’s babies for Mr. & Mrs. Moss, beautiful chestnut Cloud Man, just won the 5th at SA. He came out of the clouds (Zenyatta style) and won in a photo at odds of 13-1. Brought back some great races of you Z. Love to all of you. Judy and Russ
Debbie
hi Z! I’m watching the races now, hope you’re eating a banana or two or three;-) love you sooo much xoxoxo
Jess
Oh Zenny, I love you so much!!!! Miss you terribly!!! I’ll just have to make do with your older races, and these updates.
Love,
You 1# fan

Beautiful Zenyatta,
You have that gorgeous “maternal” glow. You have always had a light about you but it has gotten brighter. Motherhood agrees with you. Happy banana eating. Enjoy the weekend. Good luck to Mike and your dear friends. Thanks, always, to Dottie for her great posts to us all about our Beloved Zenyatta.

Good day, most famous mama-to-be. I too just watched the Moss’ boy Cloud Man racing at Santa Anita and shades of Zenny, he came racing from nowhere and won! Nice to see your CA family in the winner’s circle accepting accolades, but you will always be missed on the track, even though your foal news is wonderful!
Bananas, pears, apples — pretty soon we can send you fruit salad!
NorCalFan#1
I think your John has been showing your races to the boys and girls in Barn 55. Congratulations to Cloud Man coming from “out of the clouds” to nip ’em at the wire by barely a nose at Santa Anita! Guest Star ran 4th! Brings back such sweet memories to see your silks in the winner’s circle again (and Dottie)!
Debbie
yippee Z! Mike just won the Honeybee on Joyful Victory! xoxoxo

This is my first ever post, and thought everyone would like to know that Zenyatta’s two half brothers (both by Street Cry) won their races in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday. Whobegotyou won a Group 2 running from behind to sprint home, and Shocking, who has also won the prestigious Melbourne Cup, won the Australian Cup, easily.

Hi Zenny, glad to hear the banannas are coming in for you. Yum Yum. Hope you have a nice day discussing the races with your friends. It was so good of you to mention Japan. Many prayers going out to them with this terrible tragity. Have a good week-end. I’m sure you are going to get many congradulations from your many friends and fans. Hope to see you get some visitors soon. One of yor fans, Judy Berube shared that she went to the races and watched the horse Cloud man race and win. He is owned by the moss. He seems to run Zenyatta style. We will watch and see. I know there is only one Zenyatta but to watch a horse give it a good go is fun. He probably will do very well. When I see pictures of you from before you left California it gives me a warm feeling of all the memories of you with your racing, danceing and just plain being Zenyatta with your special personality. Take care sweet baby girl, I love you much.
Megan
Beautiful Zenyatta! Congratulations on this exciting news. If the little one’s even just a chip off the old block, he/she is going to turn heads, just like you do.
Love you and love Mikie too! God bless you both, and your extended families, and, yes, Japan too. Megan xxx

Hi, Zen,
Just watched the Santa Margarita, which was an upset. Switch looked like she had it put away and Miss Match pulled ahead just at the wire, a 45-1 long shot. I was sure pulling for Switch…Sure missed you out there, Z. The whole racing world misses you.
Sounds like you are still happy and hope we get some new pictures of you and your buddies soon. Some of us on Facebook, in looking at the marvelous picture of the 4 of you ladies sunning yourselves, all laying down, we were just trying to conjure up how you all picked the spot and then how the rest of the scene got put together! As you like to say, you all are TOO CUTE!!! Hugs. Your friend, Ann Maree

You are so thoughtful and generous, Queen Z, always thinking of others. I’ve been watching today’s (March 12) races on HRTV. You may have heard that Always a Princess took a tumble at the finish line and Switch placed in the Santa Margarita. The early word is that Always a Princess stood up and walked into the ambulance with a splinted ankle. Let’s hope that she recovers. Also, Uncle Mo won easily today. He looked strong, though the pace was slow.
Enjoy your bananas. I want you to know that among my friends, you are a frequent topic of conversation. I was given a gift of Chinese ceramic horses that were brought back for me from China by my colleagues who were working at a university there. The statues are replicas of artworks from the Tang Dynasty, 618-907 A.D. One that is depicted prancing reminds me of you and I have named it for you. So, a Chinese version of you stands on my dining room table, a constant reminder of the great Zenyatta.

Hi sweet lovely Z!! I was there at your Oaklawn race in April 2010 from Wi. I just knew from my experience, that all the fans were cheering you on!! And around the world! The billboard with you & Mike on it!! Fabulous. Do you eat green or ripe bananas? I wish Mike a great race and all horses safe wherever they are. (Of course the people too of Japan). I had a sleep over with my grandkids last night; so I think the hour ahead means I get another hour of sleep?! ha When your a mom; you may know what I am talking about. ha But life is so special!!! Love and two kisses on your soft nose.
p.s. I watched Secretariat Dvd with kiddos this early morning. We all love it; and then I see the likeness in you, the greatness; the will, the love of running to be first!!

To those of you concerned about the mare making
So much noise when we had brunch with Zenny.
There is a great video of Uncle Mo getting fed and
He is one of the most aggressive I’ve seen. He rears
Up a could of times and lunges out to bite. It is
Pretty funny and I am sure harmless. It is on y tube
Or Mike Repoles bloodhorse column.
Feeding behavior is very unique and I am sure with a
Barn of hormonal mares very challenging.

I am so happy that you are off the track in one piece. Love you Zenny.

Dear Queen-Z & Team-Z,
Happy weekend to you all. Thanks for another cute picture of the Queen-Mom To Be-Z! Also, thanks for the reminder to move the clocks ahead, tonight. You are so thoughtful! I’ll be watching the races on HRTV, and praying that all the trips are SAFE ones. Joyful Victory just won her race and I’m happy for her trainer, Larry Jones. This sport is a real “roller-coaster ride”, for all who follow it. Stay well and happy Queen-Z and all your loved-ones. Hugs to you all. Fondly, OraJean

Dear Zenny a/k/a Mom To Be – I am so happy that you are having a nice day. Are you having any other cravings besides bananas? You are so awesome thinking of others. I have watched the video of you and Mike when he came to visit you at Lands End and it is just priceless. He truly loves you, as I do. Love and kisses, beautiful girl.

So good to read your post….now my day is complete. I watched Uncle Mo win his race today. He kind of likes you …did not if you knew that…but he said you already had a boyfriend. His Uncle Mike helps to keep up his facebook page like Dottie helps you on here. So much fun!!! Hugs to you Z…. so happy to go on this new journey with you. Being a mom is the best feeling in the world.

Yes, Dottie/Zenny special prayers to our Japanese friends who are suffering terribly. Thank you for mentioning them. Zenny, bananas are good for you!! Eat up!!
I am sure that sign in Arkansas put a huge smile on Mike’s face. I hope they never take it down. Good luck with your races Mike. I have been watching the races today and enjoying them. However, they all remind me of exactly how special you were. Zenyatta the Great.
tony
Zenny…thanks for the heads-up on various races today. It’s just that when I watch them I always remember how special YOU were on that track. You always provided a show and knew what it took to hit the wire first. You nailed it over and over and over again. Yep, I like watching races but there will never be another Zenyatta. Never.
Celeste
Thank you for another beautiful photo of our Queen!! I love the sign also and I definitely count myself as one of those thrilled with the news of being in foal this week. This is such an exciting time and yet you are showing sincere concern for all the other horses. Zenyatta, you are wonderful. But all of us already knew that – lol! Thank you, Dottie, for all you do.
