HELLO EVERYONE!
I’ve missed YOU!
I guess my guys at the farm could not wait a moment longer…and they scanned me this morning. I just had to share the news with you!

I AM IN FOAL!

This is my 15 day scan! From what I am told, everything looks fabulous and solid. The embryo looks to be a good size. So, at this time, everything is WONDERFUL!

I will be rescanned at about 28 days and if that is all A-OK, my next scan will be at the 40-42 day time period from the date I was bred. As Dottie explained to you earlier, the latter scan is really very important. If all is perfect at that time, then I am pretty well on my way in my pregnancy. This is all so exciting and so new to me! I JUST LOVE IT!

David actually called Dottie at 4:33 this morning (California time) to tell her the news! She immediately ran to the computer to type up the announcement for YOU!

I truly hope you enjoy sharing these moments with ME and going through all of these different stages that I am experiencing in my life.

Hmmm! I just had a thought! Lately, I have been craving BANANAS. It seems like that is all I’ve been thinking about for the last few days! I guess this could explain why. Dottie tells me craving some type of food is very normal for humans while pregnant. Maybe it is for horses like me too! This is TOO CUTE!

Oh my! I better contact BERNIE and let him know the good news! I’m sure he will also be very excited!

WOW! I’M IN FOAL! I’m really embarking upon an entirely new stage of my life and career. As you can imagine, I’M JUMPING FOR JOY!

HOOVES CROSSED for the news on my next scan to be just at POSITIVE!

    great news, called lane’end farm and told we don’t show the mares! what! is that true for all of the time, not just this time of the year. please say it’s not so.

    Hello to all. This is my first post on this most glorious day. Zenyatta is continuing the Circle Of Life for all the right reasons, and we are all so blessed. I think perhaps Zenny, herself, decided to end the first chapter of her life and chose this day to do so. I think perhaps “Post #201” is not a mistake at all and that the Great Mare wants us to know that she is officially making this “Chapter 2 – Post 1! -Our fabulous Dottie called Zen’s HOY Eclipse Award “the Diamond Exclamation Point” of Zen’s career. Today , for sure , is yet another “Diamond Exclamation Point” in Zenyatta’s life –AND–IN OURS TOO! Hey–how about that for a new baby foal’s name? I feel so privileged to be a part of this diary and of all of you even though this is only my first post. I feelo as though I know all of you from the daily readings. I thank each of you for making me smile, cry, laugh out loud and LOVE. Thank you, Zenyatta, for allowing me to be a part of your journey as you continue the Circle of Life for all of us. Thank you, Dottie, for giving our Zen her most joyful voice and personality for the last 101 days. And thanks to all of Team Z without whom there would be no Post #201. Love to all.

    Don’t know about the Guinness for pregnant mothers but once you take to nursing your little colt or filly in a year’s time, I’ll bet your favorite brew will be a staple of your diet! Stay healthy and be sure to share the news with the girls, PQ, Alys and Sea Gull!!!

    Wooo Hooo!!! Congratulations Zenny, Bernardini, and Team Z (both the CA and KY branches). This is SUCH great news and we will keep hoofs crossed for the next pregnancy “milestones.” I’ve learned more about horse pregnancies than I ever did about human ones while I was in nursing school.
    THANK YOU Dottie SO much for getting the great news out so quickly (and don’t worry about what # post it is). As someone said above, we’ve all been on “foal watch” and getting the news is what matters. This has been a great week for me – FINALLY heard from Hollywood Park that they DO have some of your DVDs left (from Zenyatta appreciation day) so I’ve sent off my check and will be anxiously waiting to see you “in motion.” Stay safe and warm – best wishes for all good things to come.
