Hello All,
I am having the most fun today….doing a bit of exercise and relaxing in the sunshine. It is a bit brisk and cool…but the sun is out and it is wonderful.
Lots of things are happening this week at the barn and in my life. It is exciting. We are having the party for all of my friends at the barn…so I can THANK THEM for taking such great care of me for all of these years.
Then on Sunday, I’m parading at Hollywood Park. I get to go to the paddock and visit with all the fans. This should be great fun! Then I’ll walk out through the tunnel to the front part of the race track. I’ll get to see everyone! I can’t wait.
On the 6th, I leave for Kentucky. I am really getting excited about this trip as well. Steve and Mario will go on the plane with me. Ann, Jerry, John and Dottie will meet me in Lexington. We are hoping Mike comes along as well. I will get to visit with everyone upon my arrival and say HELLO.
I am one lucky girl. As the other details come out, I will share them with you.
Have a great Monday.
With love,
Z
Leslie
Hi Zenny, I’m glad you are having a nice day. I hope you are very happy in your new life in Kentucky. I wish you were able to stay here in California. Maybe someday you’ll be able to come back here. Cali is a nice place to raise babies. I’m getting all teary eyed writing this. I’m really going to miss you.
Love,
Leslie
Patricia
Zenyatta- SO glad to hear that “Team Z” will be going to Kentucky with you, at least for a little bit. I hope Ann has packed some warm blankets…it is getting chilly on the East coast. Is Dottie going to be keeping us updated once you get to Lane’s End or will David & Sarah take that over. Dottie, we love the daily updates. It really helps us stay connected. Each one of us probably has our own personal reasons why Zenyatta is so important to us. This departure that is going to take place on Monday, has already made me feel a little “empty,” inside, so I really appreciate you taking the time to allow Zen’s fans to stay connected to the process. HUGS & KISSES

Dear Queen Z, My Mom And I Have Seen U Run Three Times In California AND We Definitely Will Be There Saturday, December 4th At Hollywood Park Because “We Truly Appreciate U And All U Have Done”. Love, Bleue

Hi, Zenyatta, it’s me again. I just can’t let a diary post go by without commenting. I just want to wish you all the happiness life holds, you certainly deserve it, as you have brought so much happiness to others. I will love you forever, pretty girl!
Linda Deutsch
With you in spirit always, dear Z! So happy your team and family will be in KY with you for a while and I’m sure your new friends at Lane’s End will welcome you. PLEASE keep the posts coming when you get to KY – we never want to lose touch. Can’t wait to see your “goodbye” event next Sunday and safe travels to you and all on the 6th. Hugs ‘n Kisses.

My Dearest Zenyatta~I will miss watching your elegant dance moves in the saddleing paddock and post parade. And of course your heart stoppping come-from-behind stretch runs will always give me goosebumps. I wonder who the lucky fellow is that will get to court you in Kentucky. A better question would be “Is there a TB stallion out there that is worthy of you?” I love you and wish you a wonderful well deserved retirement.
Roberta
Hope you & your human family have a wonderful party and a beautiful day, and that your journey to Kentucky is a pleasant one. I know you will have fun being the alpha mare and becoming a wonderful mom. But I hope you’ll also have time to visit every so often with your human fans, both through your diary and by having visiting days every so often. Meanwhile, I gave my dressage horse a sweet potato today in your honor and he loved it, as did his best pal with whom he shared a slice.

PLEASE DON’T GO!!!!!

Zenyatta, will your Hollywood farewell be on TVG?
Irene Caty
Sad to see you leave us Zenyatta. I hope Mike goes to Lexington with Ann and Jerry. He loves you so. I will see you on the 5th and hope to see you close up in the paddock. Enjoy the rest of your week sweet girl. You are Queen Zenyatta and we do so love you.
Jennifer Adelman
Dear Zenyatta, Many are going to need tissues as you depart. Especially the ones who care for you 24/7. Mario, his wife and I don’t know the name of the other gentleman (sorry) but they are all fabulous with you. So happy that everyone will attend to make sure the transition is good for sweet Z our queen.
She’s in the right hands with this team and appreciate everyone’s care for her.
I just hope she will enjoy a paddock to roll, run and dance in for the first time.
Best to you Z and your wonderful people!!

WOW Zenyatta– You are going to be very busy this next week– I knew that your family would be there for you in Kentucky when you arrive —thats what any loving “family” does- Also, if anyone with a video camera is going to be there for the parades–please share with us!! thanks with lots of hugs. janet cutting

When last seen, Champagne D’Oro, Evening Jewel, and Blind Luck were at the Breeder’s Cup shaking back their manes a la Rita Hayworth in Gilda and singing the following:
“Zenyatta broke slowly
and shimmied out of the gate,
But Blame’s nose
was too much to take.
So – put the blame on Blame, Boys….
Put the blame on Blame!”
I am so happy you are being well taken care of and I maintain you have the best of owners and connections. I will be watching your farewell parade and festivities from NJ on Dec. 5 on TVG. You are the only one of the greatest thoroughbreds I have not seen, I have seen Alex, been eye-to-eye with your sibling Street Sense, have seen Curlin, Roman Ruler, Lucky…..but I could not come west to see you. But guess what, my hat designer Polly Singer of Couture Hats in Kentucky has invited me down in the spring or summer and maybe we can visit you!!!!!! She came to see you at the Breeder’s Cup and sent me your poster which I have on my office wall. Hey, I hear Lucky is going near Versailles too, I know he’s younger but a fine suitor indeed. Lucky proudly led the Haskell post parade and he was so cute. I am sure God will give you all the love in Kentucky that you had in California. There will not be a dry eye in Hollywood Park come Sunday, nor in any living room across the country watching on TVG. You are a one in a million thoroughbred, the likes of which we will probably never see again. May God always watch over you.

Have a wonderful week great lady. I am so glad that your family will travel with you to Kentucky. Boy are they going to miss you when they return to California. I’m going to miss you like crazy and I have never even met you in person! I surely hope that we, your adoring fans, will be kept up to date on what’s happening in your retirement and motherhood life.
God bless you and keep you safe and sound.
Nancy
Look what you’ve done to us, Zenyatta. You’ve made us a bunch of gushing, blithering fools. Something so unique it just cannot be explained. You have transcended horsedom. Thankfully, we have the Youtube videos, and the tapes of 2010 Breeders Classic dance recital, so we can see you whenever we want to feel good. We want to come see you in KY when it becomes permissable. :)
Elaine
I wish I could be there to see you one more time. I’m so upset that it will be impossible for me to go. I can’t believe I may never see you again. I hope you have a happy life and wish you would come back to California!
Nancy Bickford
Z-girl! Can’t wait to see you here in Kentucky! I know you’re sad about leaving California, but wait until you see what greets you in the Bluegrass State! You are SO loved! Kiss, kiss! Love you!
Stephanie J Lambert
Watching your video of your visit with Barry was so relaxing, I will miss those more than anything, I find myself missing the looking forward to your new videos John would put out of your sweet self, that is what I will miss the most about you, just watching you be you… I love you Darling…

So glad to hear you have full weeks with everyone until your trip. But best of all that Mario will be with you when you travel. I know it is hard to make big changes. When we adopted our retired greyhound it took time for him to get settled in. I know you will accept all with the grace of a QUEEN. TAKE CARE ZENYATTA
Kathy Kimber

I can’t wait to see you Sunday! My daughter and I are so excited. I am sad to have you leave our state but so happy you will be in green, lush pastures!
Joan
I flew from Texas to see you at BC and I will be there Sunday at Hollywood Park to say goodbye. I always have loved horses and enjoyed racing but you dear Zen have taken it all to new heights. Just continue to be your sweet, gentle self and what a grand Mother you will be.
Everyone is going to miss you so, especially Mario and Carmen. I know I will but they will miss you so much more than any of your fans. Let them know we are thinking about them too. See you on Sunday Queenie!!!!

Zenyatta my love. I know this week will be one of the best. I wish someone could videotape the whole thing. I can only be there in spirit. I play your Zenyatta song in my classroom and my 5th graders love it. They all know who you are because I tell them about you. I just know you will be fine in Kentucky because you will be loved no matter where you go. You have all of your fans on the east coast. Just like another lady said I would come to Kentucky and help take care of you for free. I love you sweet girl. Enjoy your week.
I want to thank Steve and Mario for taking such good care of you. Thank you Mr.and Mrs. Moss for sharing the Queen Z. Love you Zennie, Shari

Zenyatta, I was lucky enough to get to meet you on the 24th. It was a wonderful moment. I’ll never forget the look in your eyes. I hope Kentucky is kind to you. Perhaps I’ll be able to meet you again. Keep safe.

Well Big Z the time is soon to arrive that you go off to your new life. I hope there is a special person at Lane’s End that will love and take care of you as well as Mario has all these years. It’s still hard when I think of you not being around anymore to give us all that consistent thrill you always did, but I am so thankful you are happy and healthy heading into this new phase of your life. No one will ever be able to replace you as the greatest of all time for me. Hopefully I will get to see your going away parade on TVG. You stay safe and warm in KY. I’ll be thinking of you always. Someday I will be there in KY to meet you. Godspeed big girl!
Love Lori

I think you and your family help us all see what is best in us: working together, loving what you do, and not letting the little things get you down. Congratulations on the unparalleled first part of your career, and best wishes for the future–I’ll be looking for lots of beautiful fillies and colts! I hope Mike can travel with you to Kentucky, and visit you often!
