Hello All,
I am having the most fun today….doing a bit of exercise and relaxing in the sunshine. It is a bit brisk and cool…but the sun is out and it is wonderful.
Lots of things are happening this week at the barn and in my life. It is exciting. We are having the party for all of my friends at the barn…so I can THANK THEM for taking such great care of me for all of these years.
Then on Sunday, I’m parading at Hollywood Park. I get to go to the paddock and visit with all the fans. This should be great fun! Then I’ll walk out through the tunnel to the front part of the race track. I’ll get to see everyone! I can’t wait.
On the 6th, I leave for Kentucky. I am really getting excited about this trip as well. Steve and Mario will go on the plane with me. Ann, Jerry, John and Dottie will meet me in Lexington. We are hoping Mike comes along as well. I will get to visit with everyone upon my arrival and say HELLO.
I am one lucky girl. As the other details come out, I will share them with you.
Have a great Monday.
With love,
Z

I’m crying! I am so going to miss you Zenyatta! I know you have to retire… I guess it’s now. I’m glad 2 of your family are going on the plane with you- And I glad the rest will meet you in Kentucky… I wish I could go with you. I sure hope you will be happy there- you will be missed here for sure.
And since you are going to retire and make babies…. I can’t wait to see them here racing and enjoying fans as you have through the years. Love you and miss you already… I hope they pick a nice pony for you to mate with. You are the best and deserve nothing less than perfection in the next part of your life.
Kathie
Have a great retirement and years of successful mommydom big Z. I was so priviledged to see and touch you in Kentucky this year. You are the best.

Z I want to thank you for inspiring a better workout– I usually ‘bust out of the gate’ too quickly when I go for a hike, and get winded faster than I’d like. So yesterday, I headed uphill at Wilacre Park in the 818 with big slow strides, and what do you know, I hiked for over an hour ( double my average ). And you’re right, it was chilly! THANKS COACH ZENYATTA ;) !! See you next Sunday in Inglewood!
Annette Reynar
Well big girl, I think I speak on behalf of all your fans from Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. We wish we could be there in California to see you off, I’m sure there will be many tears shed.
You will make magnificent babies and I’m happy to see you retire and have the opportunity to be a great Mom.
We love you Z

Hello Zennie,
Sounds like your having fun this week. Can’t wait to see you on Sunday. I hope Hollywood Park does a great job showcasing our Queen and her Court!
Tell mom and dad, Jerry and Ann if you don’t like Kentucky to bring you home!
Hugs and kisses.
Debbie
I’m so sad that I can’t come and see you on the 5th but I am going to come and see you in Kentucky soon!!! Be happy and healthy!!! xoxoxo

Z – You were the best I ever saw!!! I sure wish you would have taken the “big one” on November 6, but you gave it your best effort and didn’t get a good trip at all. I hope you have a wonderful life in Kentucky, it is the greatest place for a horse to live. I know you’ll love it there. Want to thank you for everything! YOU ARE THE GREATEST EVER IN MY BOOK!!!
Jan Doyle
Well Zenyatta, looks like this is going to be a vey memorable week for you. I hope Mario misses the plane back to CA and has to stay with you for a while. I know you would love that. Can’t wait to visit you in KY. All my love Big Girl.
Elizabeth Barrow
I wish the Mosses would buy a ranch in Bradbury or somewhere in Cali and keep you there. Mario could have a house there so he could take care of you full time. You could go back to Kentucky or wherever for “dates” with handsome studs, but come home to the sunshine of L.A. and be a mommy here. You’re a California girl! Mike and John Shirreffs could visit you whenever they want. That’s what I would do if you were mine. I couldn’t part with you, Z!
Suzanne Hurst
Zenyatta, we will be so happy and proud to have you become a Kentuckian!!! I am very excited that you will be appearing at Keeneland on Dec. 6. I will try to get there. You would be a great St. Nicholas Day present.
Lexie

Sheri
Wow I think its awsome how your meeting all you fans! I wish i could come, but I’s in Indiana! haha! Have fun at your parade! love you Z! :D

what a busy week for Queen Z!! I’m glad to hear that Mario will fly back to Kentucky with you. I’m hoping he will stay at least a few weeks to help you adjust to your new home. I believe mares are very relucent to make changes in their day to day life. When will you announce the new stud in your life for this year? Please consider Bernardini for next year. I know it will be near impossible to out produce yourself but even a foal with 75% of your talent and disposition would be a world beater! I’ll be watching you as you say good-by tothousands of your fans, safe trip Special Z.
Marilyn
Hope I he to make it to keeneland to see you there on the 6th

It’s seems like such a busy time at Barn 55, with Team Zenyatta entertaining the fans! When does John have time to train the other horses in his care? LOL! Also wanted to let you know I offered my mares a sweet potato after reading that you liked them, and my girls went nuts for it! They followed me all around their paddocks looking for more (while I attempted to clean). All of us thank you.
Marilyn
Hope I get to come see you at keenelandon the 6th

Greatest happiness to you, girl; you have brought so much happiness to all of us!
Maureen Feely
Keep us posted on all the plans. I’ll be going through Kentucky next Spring. I’ll try to stop and say “HI”.
Anne
Wish you were still going to run again as I think those are your happiest moments. But… we all know that we were blessed having you run again last year. Enjoy your big day at Hollywood. The true queen of Hollywood! The Marilyn Monroe,Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren all wrapped up into one.
I was hoping to be one of the lucky ones and have a picture taken with you but…not to be. I have a ton though to keep me smiling plus the thrill of seeing you in person.
Glad to see that Mario and Steve are going with you as they have been your best buds throughout your career. I know we will all be in tears to see you leave the track and fly off to KY. Good luck to you pretty girl. You will be MISSED!
Jean Moore
My dear Zenyatta, Well, looks like this week is going to be full of excitement for you. Cannot get to CA for your pageant nor to Keenland for your arrival, however, I will make reservations to visit you later in December at Lane’s End. Please say that Mario and Steve will remain with you in KY just until you became adjusted to the new routine and new faces. To be comfortable, everyone needs to know what is expected of them. Glad your family is meeting you in Lexington, this must be very emotional for them. Much love and hugs.
Gerrie P.
Thanks for the wonderful wild ride of a lifetime. I know I will never see another Champion such as you, Zenyatta.
Godspeed to you and your dear family.
Ingrid in MA
NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!! DON’T GO!!!!! A weekend without ZENYATTA on the race card just isn’t a weekend at ALL!!
Who am I supposed to cheer for now???? Ah,well. I love you no matter what, Zenny. You’ll always be #1 with ME!
I miss you already – Ingrid in MA
Teresa Drennen
I am so excited for your next chapter. I am sure there won’t be a dry eye on the 5th when you parade. As the country song says….”I hope you dance, I hope you dance!”
Debbi Martin
Sounds like you are enjoying your last days in California. While I know so many people on that coast are sorry you are leaving, there are also soooo many more here closer to the east coast who are chomping at the bit to lay our eyes on you at Lane’s End!!
Ginny
One of the best things I did this year was fly to LA to see you win # 19 at Hollywood Park. And your effort at the Breeder’s Cup was awesome. Certainly proved you’re the best to me. I do hope to see you in KY although I can’t get there for the arrival. I’m really going to miss watching you race. It makes me want to smile and cry at the same time when I think of how great you are, and what you’ve done for racing.
Susan White
Z, I will miss you more than words can say. In all my years in and around racing, you truly are..The Greatest Racehorse I’ve ever seen. You touched my heart and soul and I hope to see you in Kentucky. Godspeed, Big Mare. I will take into my heart every foal of yours. You’ll always be the Queen.
cheryl
A party! Wish I could come. You might be confused as to why you are not going to the track. But everyone loves you so much, and really racing can be dangerous. Have a great day and make some wonderful children for us to follow and see. Have a great new life and keep us up to date.
