Good Morning,
It is beautiful, crisp and clear in Inglewood this morning. We had a touch of rain…but nothing much to speak of last night.
Yesterday was amazing! I had over 100 visitors in the morning. Everyone was so kind. They came bringing all kinds of great goodies for me and the barn. There was an adorable carrot cake (heard it was tasty) wishing me good luck, lots of candy, homemade oatmeal cookies and more! Wow! My friends at the barn are eating up a storm!
One man who visited was in Vietnam the same time as John. It was very sweet to see them speaking together. Lots of memories…for sure. The day before a woman and her daughter flew in to see me from Minnesota. I gather the daughter (in her early 30′s) is having a ‘very serious surgery’ next week…from what the Mother told John. The girl’s wish was to come and see me before this happened. I can’t tell you how special this makes me feel. I will be thinking of her next week…sending her lots of hugs, warm hugs and sincere wishes for a speedy recovery.
The officials from Hollywood Park also stopped by to work with John on my ZENYATTA APPRECIATION DAY next December 5th. Sounds like fun! Not sure of all of the details yet…but I’LL BE READY!!!!
John and Mario will be sure my ‘hair and make-up’ is perfect! Wardrobe is also important. If it is a bit chilly, I do have a lovely closet full of blankets!
I’ll keep you posted on all of the further details.
Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!
Hugs to all~
With love,
Z

Wow Zenny, people are coming from Scotland to see you! But of course, that’s what happens when you are the horse of a lifetime. You are so loved by so many. I’m at the top of the list:) I just got my calendar, you know, the Zenyatta 2011 calendar, not that other one that has those other horses. I mean they are nice and all but I just want to see my gorgeous Zenyatta looking at me every month! Your pictures are very beautiful, just like you! Please ask Uncle John to put up a youtube even if it’s a short one, I need a fix:) Lots and lots and lots of love to you and Team Zenyatta. Hugs and kisses to you my sweet girl:) Love, Tammi

Hey, pretty girl, I’m looking forward to watching your big day on TVG, or through some media marvel. I feel reasonably certain that it will be well covered by the media, but I hope there is someone who captures the story from beginning to end! Wish I could be there in person! Hugs!

Thanks so much to Dottie for keeping us up to date with you, Z. Our love for you never diminishes and can’t wait to see you on Tv on 12/5 with your amazing team, including Mike Smith, your courageous jockey. We think the world of your team and hope you get HOTY. You have it already as far as we are concerned – HORSE OF THE CENTURY!!!

Amazing Zenny! I think you should wear a blanket of lavendar roses at your retirement – they are symbols of “love at first sight” (doesn’t that describe all of us?), adoration, love, and royalty! It could be spiced up with any other of your favorite colors. All your connections could wear matching garlands! Would that look great or what?
Personally, I still think you should be the one to decide when to retire! If you were human, you would only be 26 or so, and you are a phenomenon to horse racing as Margot Fonteyn was to ballet. She didn’t bother retiring just to have babies! You are perfection exactly as you are, even though “from fairest creatures we desire increase, That thereby beauty’s rose might never die”…you might think it isn’t time just yet! Don’t forget — Kincsem raced at seven, and still had great babies after that. I would love to see an animal communicator work with you to get your views out there!
Still, even if you do quit racing, as a celebrity there are many things you could do that aren’t incompatible with motherhood! You could continue to paint of course, and I hope you will keep up your blogging too, but I’d love to see you with your own YouTube channel, modeled on John’s, or even a TV show on Animal Planet! Again, don’t forget the animal communicator – I’m sure your thoughts and insights are as precious as you are!

Dottie, you are a hoot! Just love these updates. It is very kind of you to do this for us. I am so glad people are still coming to see her. I hope to do likewise once she gets to Kentucky and they work out the logistics. I am also glad all the people at the barn are getting goodies too. They truly deserve them and as well as the recognition for their hard work. I am sure someone will Youtube a video or post a link to the December 5th celebration. I would think TVG would cover it too.
Please thank John from me and my husband for his service in Vietnam. It is greatly appreciated by both of us. You are both very special people.
I will keep the woman having surgery next week in my prayers.
Paula Higgins
One last thing: I really hope Ann and Jerry Moss are going to keep Zenny’s foals. They belong with all of you.
Misty
It’s so wonderful to see how many hearts Zenyatta has touched! She’s truly America’s sweetheart!!! I hope that one day there will be a movie on Zenyatta’s life and focus not only what she did for horse racing, but what she does for people when they see her and how she makes them feel. She truly is one in a million!! Thank God she has a wonderful team that loves and cares for her!!
Shari Voltz

Hi Zenny, you are really getting alot of attention. I’m glad to see you being admired by the world as you should be. You are more special than some realize. Every inch of you is perfect and supreme in every way. I have been depressed about your retirement. I feel deep down inside because of what you are this is not really what you want. I know you are a horse but you are not the usual horse. The feelings you have for people is most un-usual. I have no say in what is best for you but I just want you to know that I love you, I wish you every happiness and will miss you much. Have fun Zen and God Bless You.

Good afternoon Zenyatta. It’s so nice to hear that you and all your friends at the barn are receiving yummy goodies. Thank you John for serving in Vietnam. These posts are great, I hope you will keep them coming when you move to Ky. Although I don’t want to see you move but I guess you have too. I wonder if southwest will let me bring you some goodies on the plane when I come see you this week. If not I will try to find a store near by to get you some sweet potatoes and carrots and of course some goodies for your team and your barn friends. Have a great rest of your Sunday, and see you this week.
Lanie Johnson
