Good Morning,
It is beautiful, crisp and clear in Inglewood this morning. We had a touch of rain…but nothing much to speak of last night.
Yesterday was amazing! I had over 100 visitors in the morning. Everyone was so kind. They came bringing all kinds of great goodies for me and the barn. There was an adorable carrot cake (heard it was tasty) wishing me good luck, lots of candy, homemade oatmeal cookies and more! Wow! My friends at the barn are eating up a storm!
One man who visited was in Vietnam the same time as John. It was very sweet to see them speaking together. Lots of memories…for sure. The day before a woman and her daughter flew in to see me from Minnesota. I gather the daughter (in her early 30′s) is having a ‘very serious surgery’ next week…from what the Mother told John. The girl’s wish was to come and see me before this happened. I can’t tell you how special this makes me feel. I will be thinking of her next week…sending her lots of hugs, warm hugs and sincere wishes for a speedy recovery.
The officials from Hollywood Park also stopped by to work with John on my ZENYATTA APPRECIATION DAY next December 5th. Sounds like fun! Not sure of all of the details yet…but I’LL BE READY!!!!
John and Mario will be sure my ‘hair and make-up’ is perfect! Wardrobe is also important. If it is a bit chilly, I do have a lovely closet full of blankets!
I’ll keep you posted on all of the further details.
Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!
Hugs to all~
With love,
Z

Zenyatta, maybe Sophie will let you borrow one of her cute coats?? lol Might be a bit small but you do look good in pink :)
Happy Sunday to Team Z!!

Thank you so much for the updates. Very touching. I am in Canada, do you know if the Appreciation Day will be televised?..Only fitting for The Queen :)
Leiana
Thank you so much, Zenny for all the wonderful memories!! I was part of that morning group, and it was great getting to see you and touch you. And it was nice coming back in the afternoon again too. Thank you so much. :)
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Appreciation Day!!
Sandra
GO ZENYATTA! i cant wait to see you with a foal at yourside! i hope lanes end will film you doing your z stuff just like John did when you were training with him!
Ira Kargel
Zenyatta and Company, you are all very gracious, and as loyal fans, we enjoy hearing so much about what you’re up to. The perspective of writing shares with us your kindness and consideration of how much we love you, and it just makes us love you more. I so wish I didn’t live in Toronto… how to get to CA on the 5th?? hmmm… I’m working on this. In the interim, my beautiful golden retriever, Jake, has been nick-named Zenyatta, it helps me feel closer to you, and he’s ok with it, doensn’t really like the bridle, but he’ll get used to it, and we’re working on his speed, he was able to blow by some Golden Doodles and a Black Lab at the park this morning :)
A girl can dream…
Have a great rest of your day at the Barn!
Sandra
i wish i could see you too! maybe TVG or ESPN or John could film the day for those who cant make it

Wow! Over 100 visitors yesterday? You are somthing pretty darn special for all the folks to keep on coming. Same for here, too. We need our daily Zenyatta fix or else the day just doesn’t seem quite right. I am really looking forward to the 5th. Although I can’t be there I’ll be there in spirit. Sure hope Lane’s End is ready for you…bet they never had such excitement before YOU!.
Take care, beautiful one. Tell Dottie we really appreciate her helping you with this news.
Linda
All horses are special, but Zenyatta has a special nitch in everyone’s heart. She is America’s horse now. I look forward to her daily posts every day. Sure hope they can be continued when she goes to KY.
Kristi Catalani
I look forward to these updates every day!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share Zenyatta with the world! I love her so much!
Richard Cope
I hope that the Appreciation Day will be televised so all of your fans who can’t make the trip to California can celebrate with you in spirit. If it won’t be on tv I hope that someone will have a camera and will put the whole thing on Youtube. You see how much you touch people Zenyatta? Someone comes from Minnesota to see you before a major surgery. You touch people in a way humans can not, you mean so much more to people than simply being a great race horse. We will miss you so much when you go to Lane’s End but we will all be wishing you the very best.
marion
Dear zenyatta, I wish you had been able to come to England.. you have so many fans. Whenever I watched you race you made my heart sing. I feel privileged to have been able to watch history be made . Good luck with the babies!

Hi, Zenyatta, glad you are having a wonderful day…you deserve for every day to be wonderful as you have made so many people happy. I truly hope there will be videos of December 5th. I am unable to be there but sure wish I could. That day is my birthday and I would love to celebrate it watching you! You are absolutely the best and always will be, pretty girl. Love ya!

Oh, Z and Co., how I wish I weren’t in Virginia but I do hope to see you when you come to Kentucky. Sure hope they will make you the star that you are—saw where lane’s end recently joined facebook. Hope they take the time to post lots of pics and videos of you for your fans. And hopefully, your diary can be kept up as well, though I know your secretary will be a coast away…still I think they will always keep you close and watch over you wherever you may be. Thanks for sharing, Lady Z!
Edie Dickenson
You’re the best, Zenyatta, and so is your ghost writer! Enjoy your toasty barn because there is over a foot of new snow here in northern Nevada.
Kate
I’m flying all the way from Scotland just for you next weekend! I’ll bring all of the well wishes from your fans in the UK.
Fran
I love your updates Z! You and Dottie must talk a lot! How nice to have friends from all over the country to come to visit you. That must make you and the Z team feel very very special. And, indeed, you should all feel very special because you just are!
Marion

LOVE reading these entries!!!! Thank you so much for keeping us informed of your every day business!! Do you thin the people at Lane’s End will let us come visit you?? I sure hope so, you would be so lonely without all of this attention!!!
Jean Moore
Dear Zenyatta and Team Z, All this exciting news today! So many visitors and treats, you surely hold court, don’t you? I was wondering if you had a stylist, should have known that everything was under control in that department as royal robes are in order for 12/5. Thank you for taking the time in your busy life to speak to us today, I just love you and think of you so often each day.
Stephanie Quilichini
It would be great to know if the Appreciation Day will be televised for the fans that can’t make it??? Thank you Team Zenyatta:)
OraJean Stevenson
Zenyatta and Team-Z, I hope you all are having a wonderful, relaxing, sunny Sunday!! I’m looking forward to seeing you next Sunday, Dec.5th. I’m sure Hollywood Park will give you a fitting “Retirement Party”…no one deserves it more!! I have 2 questions: Are you on a special diet, to prepare you for your new role in life? and, When was John in Vietnam? I served there, too, as an Army Nurse. Have fun, Team-Z, at your “Barn Party”. Take care and keep in touch. Fondly, OraJean

I too wish your day will be televised next Sunday, Dec. 5th. I am in Florida and can’t make it to California to see you in person.
You are one in a million and I doubt there will ever be another one like you at least not in my lifetime.
Thanks to all your fabulous team for sharing you with all your fans. I can’t imagine the feelings they all will have when you have to leave for Kentucky.
Hope all at Lane’s End will realize how lucky they will be to have you there and treat you accordingly.
You are a “HOTTIE” and should get the
“HOTY” award without question.
Love you and wish I could hug you and kiss
that soft nose of yours.
Gayle Daniel
I love you Zenyatta!!!
