Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Ours at the barn was very nice.
I also want to THANK YOU for the FAN MAIL. I am truly honored. I am getting so many letters that John brought the ones from the last few days home to Dottie in a big shopping bag. Plus, I am getting flowers, horse treats, candy for my friends at the barn, homemade cookies for the crew here and lots and lots of carrots and peppermints. It is truly amazing!
Steve Andersen, who writes for the Daily Racing Form, was at the barn Tuesday and looked over that day’s mail and commented he saw letters from 11 different states, 1 from Canada and 1 from Nova Scotia. Just in one day’s delivery!
Wow! I know John and Dottie are reading all of the letters and enjoying each and every one of them. Some of you have drawn me beautiful pictures and sent photos as well. I feel truly privileged so many people have been SO KIND TO ME!
The Moss’ are also getting mail. Mike Smith commented that his mailman told him he needed a larger mailbox!
This is too much fun!
Thank you so much for caring.
Hugs to you all~

Hi Zenny Girl. I’m so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It sounds like you are receiving just an outpouring of love from your fans. I can’t wait to see you once again on Dec. 5. It will be bittersweet that day. We all want you to have your beautiful new life at Lane’s End, but at the same time, we will miss you so, so much. I wanted to tell you what an inspiration and joy you have been to me. If anything is bothering me in my day to day life, I think about you, and pretty soon, I can picture you running or prancing and it just brings joy to my heart. Then my troubles melt away. That’s how I know you are sent from God. Also, because I came to love you, I realized how much I have always loved horses, even though I never had much chance to be around them. So, not only have I enjoyed going to the races to see you and the other horses, I have taken up English Riding Lessons. I go about once a week to a wonderful barn in Menifee, CA. This has filled up a place in my heart that always wanted to be filled! So for all of these reasons, Zenny, I am thankful, so thankful for you. I suspect there are many other stories like this, and you must know you are more than a racehorse to all of us. You are our Joy and Inspiration. Happy Thanksgiving, Zenny. I wish I could meet and touch you. Maybe I will someday. I love you. Anita.

Zenyatta, Mr. and Mrs. Moss, Mr Sherrif and Mike Smith and crew, Wow what a perfect storm of Beauty and Wonderment you provided for us. I know the Lord was the architect but you were his builders. Thank you for accepting the challenge and giving us such great racing memories.

I love these posts and reading the posts of others and think its great you are receiving cards and letter But I have an idea for Z’s fans Instead of sending the great mare that has the best of everything gifts of carrots, peppermints etc Please make a donation to some of the race horse rescue and retraining orgs out there Some race horses aren’t as lucky as Z Instead of retirement to Lane’s End or other breeding farm they are sent to a slaughter house Org such as The Second Race take some of these unwanted and retrain for others to use for their enjoyment as riding horses and sometimes show horses Zenyatta connections if you could post this option along with a list of worthy orgs think of how many other horses could be helped

This makes me smile. Love you Zenyatta Moss. Thanks Team Z for taking such good care of our special girl. Please stay in touch with us.
Also, how do we watch the 12/5 parade if we are remote????

Just received my Blood Horse issue about Queen Z. It is beautiful, can’t wait to curl up in a chair and read it from cover to cover. I’ve had trouble finding the Zenyatta Christmas ornament, everyone is sold out. Any suggestions? Can’t wait for Dec.5 to see Z on the track again. I’ll DVD Zen’s last appearance at Hollywood Park.

Hi Zenyatta!! I, like the rest of your loving fans feel better after reading your diary. My life at times is hard and I feel so much better after reading your posts. I sing that Zenyatta song in my car and it makes me so happy. My 5th grade class knows all about you too. I wish I could come out to CA and see you on Dec. 5th but I live in Ohio and will be working. I hope to make it to Kentucky in the near future to see you up close. That would mean so much to me. I can not even put it into words. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Moss for being so gracious to share this special creature with us. Thank you Team Z for all you do for her and for us. Zenyatta your just one very special lady. I love you, Shari

Lots of love Zenny Moss from Georgia. Valerie, so sorry about your mule, who I know you loved very much. Animals are GOD’s gifts to us, no doubt about it.

We need a Zenyatta Christmas ornament in the merchandise section! It would sell out!

I sent a donation to Jack the special needs horse who is having reconstructive surgery. In honor of Zenny.

More…. I have also sent money to Old Friends, a charity that Ann and Jerry Moss support. It is a home for retired horses. A very worthy cause which you can google on the internet.

Dear Zenyatta WOW the Blood-Horse Commemorative Issue featuring you is absolutely fabulous…this is a once in a lifetime keeper and collector’s item!! Thanks for these frequent posts as its great to feel so connected to you and helps me (and obviously your thousands of fans) deal with the anxiety separation of you hanging up the racing shoes as well as leaving So. Cal. See you on Dec. 5th!

Zenyatta-
You are one of the marvelous wonders of God’s created world – you have a beautiful spirit, and are a gift to so many people. Many blessings always to you and all those who love you and recognize what you give to others.
I think we all realize what a remarkable horse you are – and it is a gift to have seen you run in Arkansas at Oaklawn. I will never forget – Love you so much!!!
Linda / Maryland
What is your address Zenyatta? I would love to send you something.
Mary
I love you, Zenny. I hope you will always be happy and surrounded by the people who love you best.

Well Ms. Zenyatta, this is all because magic still exists in horse racing and in life…you were meant to go to the Mosses, David and Dottie were meant to find you at the sale, John Shirreffs was meant to be your trainer…it was all meant to be…

Just wanted to share that after a very stressful week I finally made it to Barn #55 at Hollywood Park today to pay a visit to my hero Zenyatta (along with some 30 or so other fans). It was my first experience being around horses and stables ever. I must say that being around Zenyatta, Carmen and Mario and Steve today really was wonderfully calm and relaxing just watching them give her a bath and do some grazing in the warm California sun..even the stable cats were calm with so many people hanging around. Steve and the entire team are just very patient and gracious and I can’t thank them enough for accomodating the fans. Zen is so amazing and gentle; she spent an hour just taking pictures with everyone and she even gave me a nice nuzzle but when they snapped my pics she stood ever so still striking that special “pose.” I got to touch her neck and nose and was surprised at how soft and smooth like velvet it was. All in all it was a day I will never forget and will definitely miss her presence at Hollywood Park when she moves to Kentucky. Hopefully there will be a similar visit set-up for her countless fans and if so, I may even fly there to do another Zenyatta visit.
Ann Maree
Hey, sweet girl, I so wish I could be there in person for your going away party, but I will sure be there in spirit! Wouldn’t miss it! I think I have discovered why you have so many fans, why so many people are Zenyatta fanatics! It’s because of how you have impacted all our lives in such a positive way. A whole bunch of Zenyatta happy energy just flows through those of us who have brought you into our hearts. Thanks to all of your connections for being so generous to let us take a peek into the world of a very special lady. Take care, Queen Z, and be cool. Look forward to your next post! Hugs!
