Well, it has rained off and on here in Inglewood for the last 2 days. I did get to paint my Moneighs yesterday late in the morning. I had to stay in the barn as it was too wet and cold outside. Julio Sarno and her crew helped me. Hope you enjoy the photos. The paintings will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to help retrain horses from off the track. RERUN is the organization.
I am so happy to be able to help! And, if I say so myself, I did a terrific job! I would imagine they would call my style…CONTEMPORARY / MODERN ART!
Hope you enjoy the photos. John sent them in for you to see.
Also, a woman from Washington made me a great cookie container….and some homemade cookies. They are delicious! (Direct quote from JOHN! ) Thanks so much for the yummy treats! The cookie jar is a keepsake!
If it stops raining, I get to go out and graze. Otherwise, I’m cozy and warm in my stall in Barn 55. I go out walking several times each day…but that is in my covered barn area.
Hugs to you all~
Love,
Z

“WHAT a wonderful thing to do Zenyatta.”
I can’t wait to see the pictures, where will they be so we can look at them?
I am hoping I can buy one!!
I have two rescue horses, Serena and Senora they are half sisters. I have had them since they were 6 months old.
“Have a wonderful week Zen and don’t eat too much turkey!” You will probably like desert better anyway.
Love you Zen~!!

Hey Zenyatta! Thanks for all that you and your connections have done for the sport and thank you for donating to ReRun! I’m going to be purchasing the next project from off the track and its nice to see you supporting such a great thing! Thank you!
Have you decided who your future “husbands” are going to be? I have my requests (see below)… tee-hee-hee! :)
Also, my 8 month old German Shepherd wanted to say “hi” to you. She looks up to you very much and practices your running style while in the Dog Park. And, oh yes, her name is “Zenyatta”, too — named after you.
Love You, Zen! Keep up your diary posts! :)

Hi Zenny!! You are just such a wonderful horse and so is your family. I cried when the diary post spoke of your farewell-thinking I would never see you again!! But, then I began to think that this spring if Lane’s End allows with the approval of all, it is possible to see you if I drive from Wi. to Kentucky. Keep dancing Z!! As soon as the rain stops you’ll be able to get outside and run I am sure. Always in my thoughts.
Love and kisses.
Louise
Miss “Z” the Queen of them all, I adore you beautiful girl. I only wish you’d not retire so early. I’d not want you to continue and get hurt, either. You have such a soft side to you—wanting to dance and show us how much you love us and what you do. You amaze me precious girl. Love you. Kisses and hugs.

I’m waiting for some photos of your artwork. Will there be reprints of the originals that I may be able to purchase? Thanks.

Zenyatta, You are retiring safe and sound and I allways worried on your races.
I was smitten with Pine Island also who broke down. She was a sweetheart like you and very big.
Great career you have and reruns showed on the BC that your feet where ahead and seconds later a nose ahead. It really doesn’t matter as you had a stellar career. The records and time still show you as one of the greatest.

Hi Zenny, WOW, someone sent you cookies. Well, you deserve all the spoiling you can get. I still think about you daily and wonder each day as to what you might be doing. I guess it gets a little boreing when it rains and you cant go out. I am sure the Z-TEAM makes sure they keep you active enough. They are so good to you and it is a blessing that they are there for you. The sun should shine again soon and your visitors will come flowing in again. Enjoy your days and stay happy. I just had to drop a note to let you know that I still love you and miss going to the track to see you. Say hi to John and the Z-TEAM and give them my best regards. We will not only loose you when you leave for Kentucky but we will also loose the great Z-TEAM that we have grown so fond of. Stay your sweet self Queen Zenyatta. Love ya always, Irene
Pam Zacek,
Hi Z, hope you get out of the barn and get some sun soon, I like your Painting, when you find your future husbands, make sure, the all are lovable, like you,
Jan
Lady Z, I went over to http://www.rerun.org and clicked on the Moneighs tab and found that you and some others already have sets of cards available! I think it’s great that you are helping other retired thoroughbreds. There are some great horses there – including one from AP Indy — that are available. Thanks for helping them all with your Moneighs. Can’t wait to see your new artwork!
Lisa Durivage
You have such a big heart Zenyatta.. Always thinking about others first.. We have been considering getting a new horse for some time now.. My daughter is old enough and would like her own.. The discussion has come up once or twice to go rescue one.. I believe that’s just what we are going to do.. Our three dogs and one cat are all rescue animals and each one has there own unique personality and I know there are so many great horses that need a good home:) me and my family love you lady Z…

Nothing better than a good cookie! I think you and Dottie are on to something pretty special with this diary. It’s a super great idea for racing fans. I love it! We would take some of your rain here in West Texas.

“Moneigh” notecards, including Zenyatta’s previous artwork, may be purchased at the RERUN website.

hope you get some sunshine soon Queen Z!!
Love these diary updates.
As for potential husbands — I don’t you should get too hung up on just 1 guy — think Queen Z should only keep boy toys around to amuse her.
Go for Curlin Queen Z, he’s a man that just might be able to handle you for a bit.

Rerun is a great organization. It is great that you are painting, and the proceeds are going to a great cause. We love you, Big Z!

Zenyatta, The mononeighs are wonderful. While owning one of your originals would be wonderful, the prices usually go pretty high in the auctions. Perhaps they could do reproductions and sell them and all your fans could buy them. That would make a lot of money for RERUN. I know a lot of your fans would buy them!
Hugs and peppermint kisses,
Cathleen

Dear Z, I see now from another post that we can buy notecards of your previous moneighs. Yippee! All my friends are getting them for Xmas. What great stocking stuffers! Can’t wait to get notecards from your most recent moneigh.

Ms Zenyatta, Your artwork is magnificent and much better than the others, is there anything that you cannot do? No, did not think so. We are planning to come to KY next summer to see you, since you absolutely have to leave. I wish I was there, I would be at HP December 5. Good night, Sweet Girl. Lisa g

Ahhhh, those rainy days are so much fun, there is lots to do, like practice new dance moves. Ginger Rogers never had moves as good as yours! I miss seeing yo dance, it’ gives me a thrill.

Hi Z! It’s wonderful that you continue to keep giving back-everyone needs to in some way. I hear your MOM is being bred to “Lucky” because they felt he was the best all around athelete. He was behind you dear girl. As for Seth Hancock saying you had every chance to go by Blame and didn’t-I guess he didn’t watch the next stride past the finish line. So sad that the establishment feels that they should always have the last word! Your supporters all over the world are rooting for you HOTY!!!! By the way, A.P. Indy looks good to me too, if the pedigrees are ok. Hope to see you in KY someday-couldn’t make it to your races, but I was cheering you on. Best wishes to you and your family.

Hi Zenyatta… neet where do I see your paintings? Oh, I am so looking forward to that.. I agree, I live near Santa Anita and it has been raining but maybe it will stop soon and then you can go outside…. don’t forget to look at the blue moon tonight… I love you… keep the news coming
Shari Voltz
Miss Zenyatta your such a talented lady. That is so nice of you to help out all the other horses. We had a beautiful day in Ohio. My husband downloaded your song to a CD so now I sing about you in my car. You make me feel so happy. I love that song. Stay dry sweetie and thank you ALL for keeping us informed. Lots of hugs and kisses, Shari

I hope the sun always shines on you Queen Z, but I also hope it will rain for the next six months so you won’t leave California for awhile!
Valerie Chase
Thanks again Zenny and “family” for sharing the day with us. Sounds like you had a really fun time creating the moneighs. Can’t wait to see them and get an opportunity to purchase one! They will be so so special but even more so that the…y benefit such a great cause! The items you made available for the V Foundation were also very special. Thanks again for sharing your day! xxoo P.S. is anyone else having a problem seeing her pictures? I’m guessing you click on the one pic that is showing but it isn’t working for me :(
