Happy Saturday to everyone!
It is absolutely pouring here at Hollywood Park this morning. I’m nice and cozy in my blankets and all cuddled up in my stall at this time. John had me do a bit of exercise yesterday…as he thought it would rain today. At 9 our time, it is supposed to be the heaviest…so I probably will not go out and graze until it stops.
I was also supposed to PAINT some MONEIGHS this morning. Dottie set up the appointment for me. I’ve done this before and the paintings are sold for charity to help horses in need of a new home. These are fun to do and I get to play a bit. The materials used are all safe for me. Not sure if this is taking place due to the rain. We normally do this outside and that can’t happen today.
When I do get to paint, I’ll send you some photos.
All else is nice and quiet. I’m relaxing, cozy and having a wonderful morning in my barn with all of my friends. You stay dry and cozy as well.
Hugs to all~
Love,
Z

Zenyatta, it is SNOWING here! So I finally am watching the Breeders’ Cup that I recorded. I was there at Churchill when you ran your heart out. I am so proud of you, but I have to say that I enjoyed watching last year’s telecast more.

Then here you are …writing your daily post. Thanks to all your Team Zenyatta for making this possible. Sounds like you had a cozy day. Have someone take a picture as you are painting….love to see it.

Zenyatta, you are just so special. You have done so much with your moneighs to assist horses needing a home. Many people could learn from your example. You are a blessing and a treasure. Can’t wait to see you on December 5. Keep those blogs coming, they bring such a smile to my face.

Thank you, Dottie, for all of your posts. We are so hungry for all of the updates we can get about our Queen Z. It is so uplifting to hear that she is happy and comfortable. Kudos to all of you for being a part of the Moneighs. It is so important that we rescue as many thoroughbreds as possible.

Good evening Zenyatta. Hope the weather cleared up enough for you to go out and munch some grass this afternoon. We had a little bit of rain in the high desert too, and a lot of wind. Hope the weather improves for December 5th, surely it wouldn’t dare rain on your parade. Can’t wait to see you again!
Amanda Gilliland

Always looking forward to new photos of you! Think of you often and can’t wait to see you for the first time. It makes me want to cry to think someday I could be standing looking at Zenyatta The Queen! I will bow because you so deserve it.

Hope u had a relaxing day. We were at a horse show today, and it was very cold. Our Dozey is now in her stall at home all warm and toasty too!

I’ve seen the horse paintings for sale at Hollywood Park on big race days. It’s a great way to support Thoroughbred rescue. 9 years ago we adopted a former racehorse. She was never fast like you, Zenyatta. She’s 24 years old now and happily retired on our 3 acres, bossing around a bunch of dairy goats.

Hi Zenny! Glad to read you were nice and cozy during the rain. Wish I could have shared a cup of hot cocoa with you in your stall. You in your blankets and me in my Snuggly (As Seen on TV)! LOL…
Can’t wait to see the photos of your paintings! Take care Big Girl!
Wub you as always…

Zenny, I know that as a horse, you aren’t one for too much forward-thinking. But as you nibble the wet grass in the lot outside Barn 55, perhaps you can imagine this…
…Fields larger than all of Hollywood Park, where you are not only free to graze but to run, roll, play, snooze, all on your own and at your leisure, but with company, as well. While the seasons change around you, sometimes you will be able to leave your hoofprints in the snow (ask John about snow) and other times, stir leaves with your breath and your nose before you crunch them. Most of all, you will feel the ground beneath your feet and see the sky above your head, all day, most days.
A place to be a mare among mares, and if you choose — all bets are off — THE mare among mares. Leading, guiding, nurturing and dancing among a new family of your breed. Making your mark on your herd, and leaving your imprint on generations to come.
Zenyatta, the Queen of Versailles.

Love you Z! Thank you so much for keeping in touch. I love hearing what you do with your days. These updates are precious. I would love to have a web cam so I could actually see you. I loved how on Breeders Cup day you were nuzzling the light bulb!! Silly Girl! Love you…
Julie DuVall
Today was perfect weather for snuggling with blankets. I’m glad you are safe and warm! It never did clear up here in the IE, but I hope you got some sun down by the beach so you could have a nice graze. :) Now let’s just hope the storm clears out before Tuesday (you’ll find out why!)
