GOOD MORNING TO ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS!
HAPPY DIARY #100! WOW! It has been an amazing time!
In thinking about this DIARY ENTRY, I really wanted to tie in so many of the past experiences we’ve shared and open the door for all of us to enjoy other unique moments together. I am one very, very fortunate HORSE! I’ve had an amazing racing career. I’ve received so many incredible acknowledgements and prestigious awards. Yet, most importantly, I have been completely BLESSED to be loved by so many wonderful people.
I’m now living in Kentucky. Hopefully I’ll find out soon about my IN FOAL status. I promise, I will definitely let YOU know the results as soon as possible!
To honor #100, I have one very ‘PRECIOUS’ experience of mine to share with you! My adorable JOHN helped ME put this together for YOU! Even though I was officially retired last November, I was still at BARN 55 for over a month before going to Lane’s End. During that time, it was necessary for me to exercise each day and stay in ‘somewhat’ my normal routine. I was a very fit athlete getting ready to ‘change my focus to farm life’…so John wanted to help ME with this transition and keep ME relaxed, fit and HAPPY!
On my last day of exercise while in California, John had a great idea. He had Steve wear the helmet cam while riding ME. MY ADORABLE JOHN thought it would be very special for ALL OF YOU to go on my LAST GALLOP WITH ME!
The next day, I moved to Kentucky and my daily routine changed to that of becoming a BROODMARE. In modern day terms, Dottie tells me that I am in the process of RESTRUCTURING MY CAREER! TOO CUTE! I think I’m doing quite well at this!
I truly can’t THANK ALL OF YOU enough for the continued LOVE, SUPPORT and ENCOURAGEMENT you have given ME! As I have stated many times before, I really could never have done it without MY TEAM and ALL OF YOU!
Again, HAPPY DIARY ENTRY #100! Please enjoy joining me at the racetrack for MY LAST GALLOP!
Check out the video HERE!
With LOVE,
HUGS to ALL~(and I truly mean this)
Z
P.S. Dottie wanted me to let you know that we will take a few days and get ‘some business things organized’ and work on some future projects. Between all of this and counting the days on my ‘in foal status’, please keep thinking HOOVES CROSSED!
Nancy L
I visited Clockers Corner when I came to California to see you run in the Vanity at Hollywood Park. I went to Santa Anita early to watch the horses gallop and was thrilled to see Bob Baffert and some other well known faces. In case race fans don’t know, it is possible for anyone to visit some tracks in early morning to watch the horses train. Check it out before-hand if you are interested. Some tracks only do it on certain days.

Zen, you and your connections are wonderful. I cannot wait for the weather to break here in chicago so I can start riding my guys .

Thank you Zenyatta, John, Dottie and Steve for the great video. I could almost feel the cool morning air and the wind across my face. Brought back great memories of when I gallopped at Hiahlea in the early 1970s.

Wow! Great ride. Thank you so much for doing the video.

Dearest,Zenyatta, you had me at hello. First, there was little cutie pie, Sophie to greet me and then the words “Happy Diary #100”. That is all it took for the tears to hit. What a milestone! As you say Zenny, certainly not a goodbye, but hello to a wonderful future!! I have so many feelings of pure joy. There was breathtaking excitment in watching you race and boundless pride for your fantastic accomplishments. I have unending and heartfelt appreciation for all the beautiful Dottie, wonderful Team Z and gracious folks at Lane’s End continue to do, not only the fans, but for charity also. You allow all of us to part of the magic. The great information provided, remarkable friendship’s shared and support of this diary’s extended Z family is just too special and I am truly thankful each day for everyones health and happiness, particularly yours Zenny. AND ABOVE ALL THERE IS LOVE. I agree, it has been an amazing time, a complete blessing and we can’t thank you enough, Zenny. It was so terrific of John and Steve to put together the video of your last gallup for us. As Mike always says, you are a Ferrari! What a thrill!! (Loved the ear action:) Dottie, have a great week and I will be keeping my hooves crossed and waiting for the wonderful news that Zenyatta is truly on the road to motherhood. Zenny, enjoy a fantastic day with the gal pals and a night of sweet dreams. Hugs and kisses. XXXOOO

I received my S/N print from Santa Anita yesterday and was absolutely thrilled with it. Since I own a Frame Shop, I was a little apprehensive that the print might also be of poster quality so I wa very pleased with the piece. It looked like a giclee and the colors were beautiful. It will soon be hanging in a place of honor and the added bonus of Mike Smith autographing it (which wasn’t expected) just makes it that much more special. The artist did her justice and that’s not easy. Thanks to everyone for sharing Zenyatta so generously with us.

Hi Z, I guess this means no diary entries for a few days. I will miss you but I do understand. It’s a very busy time of year. Barn is busy as is the farm where you are. I’ll just keep thinking good thoughts for you in the meantime.
I was at Costco this morning. It’s a human food store kinda like the barn where all the hay and feed is stored for you as you need it. Anyway guess what I found???!!! A box of–you guess it!!!–APPLE PEARS!!!! Now just how awesomely cool is that???? Okay, so I’m a week late to the party–but that’s typical of me–but I’m gonna try a NEW FOOD ITEM!!! All because you invited me to brunch last weekend. I’ll let you know if I like them. Thanks Z. I’ll try to eat it and not drop it on the ground!!!

That was an awesome ride. Thanks for taking us all along.

Wow big mama that was quite an exciting way to celebrate your 100th post, St Dottie has compiled quite a large body of work in these posts. I loved the ride, felt like I was right up there on your back, my body in rhythm with yours. I loved looking thru those fabulous ears, seeing you cock them back periodically…..sooooo neat.
Now we wait to celebrate the good news of your upcoming foal, by the way Wilbourn won today and so did Stay Thirsty both out of your future hubby. Could anything more go right for you, georgeous girl? Luv and kisses on your nose
