Happy March Madness to Everyone!
As you all know, I am a huge SPORTS FAN! I have always loved competition and being an athlete…so I admire people who do the WORK it takes to perform at a HIGH LEVEL in athletic competition. I love SPORTS! March is particularly fun as it is the beginning of March Madness in College Basketball. Dottie printed out the GRID for me to follow the games. What a great time!
The teams who play around my BARN 55 home are UCLA and USC. San Diego State seems to be a team to really follow this year. They look to be one of the top contenders. Many sportscasters feel they can make it to the FINAL FOUR. Their campus is located a bit down the freeway from Del Mar where I’ve raced in the summer. Such FUN!
Now, living in Kentucky I have noticed that this is a real BASKETBALL STATE. Between the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the University of Louisville Cardinals, there is always some great basketball to follow. So, in your free time, print your grid…and enjoy the games.
I’ll be watching and following MARCH MADNESS with all of my friends here at Lane’s End. I know Dottie and John will be doing the same at home! Since I’m a HORSE and don’t have an Alma Mater to cheer for…I will be following my HOME teams…both CA and KY. Good Luck to each participant in the Tournament! Work hard and remember to have fun with it!
On another note, I wanted to take a few moments and answer some of your questions. I asked my Lane’s End friends about LIFE IS SWEET! She has not foaled yet. Due soon…but no baby yet. I’ll keep you posted. She is in foal to Smart Strike! Hooves Crossed for my dear friend and her soon-to-be foal!
For those of you who inquired about the Diary Entry numbers, the first set went from # 1-100. This series is beginning with #201 and moving forward. I just wanted to set this group apart from the first one. It is an entirely different series to capture a new chapter in my life. For those of you who asked about this…you did not miss any of them. You are TOO CUTE and VERY SWEET to ask!
Also, I’d like to thank Mathea Kelley for the piece she did in THE BLOODHORSE about ME titled “ZENYATTA LOOKING GOOD”! The photos are fabulous, in my opinion. (Blush, Blush!) I think I look really PLAYFUL in my cute snowy whiskers close-up and then very sophisticated and dignified in several of the other photos. I hope you enjoy them!

We are working on the Z pins and continuing to work out things on the web-site to make it EASIER and FUN for you. We are trying hard to FIX the INTERNET/FACEBOOK problem for you. Thanks for your patience!
Have a wonderful day! Get out your grids and be picking YOUR TEAMS! Who do you think will make it to the FINAL FOUR…and then WIN it ALL? SUCH FUN!
With love,
Hugs to ALL~

My Sweet Lady Zenyatta, You look so beautiful with that georgous shiny hair walking in the Ky. sunshine. What do you use? I wish my hair shined like that! The article & photos were great in Bloodhorse. I’ve never seen a bad photo of you even after a roll in the mud, you are just photogenic from every angle. In modeling school(many years ago) I learned that semmetry of the face and body is what the human brain recognizes as beauty in photos. It’s the perfect porportions that God Blessed you with makes you so beautiful just to look at. Your personality is as beautiful inside as outside. Have you ever considered modeling? You have the walk down. You are a Superhorse but as a human you would be considered a Supermodel. Thanks for telling me about Life Is Sweet. I hope all goes well for her & the little one. I’m looking forward to the photos. Are any of the 3 girlfirends pregnant? Ask Dottie to keep us informed on that. I care about your friends and want to keep updated on their health.
Has Jerry & Ann bought you a large screen TV to watch races & March Maddness? I’d like to see a photo of you & your girlfriends watching TV. Now that would be something to see!
Dottie,I have some questions about Zenyatta’ pregnancy. (I’m a lady that never had an opportunity to have a child,& I don’t know about equine pregnancy even though I had horses growing up.) I want to know how much weight is Zenyatta expected to gain? How different is pregnancy for horses than humans? What extra precautions will be taken with her? Will the Vet routinely check her every week? Will she have swelling of the legs like humans? Can she get pregnancy induced diabetes? How will Zenyatta let them know there is a problem?
Dottie, I care deeply & love Zenyatta so much. I’ve read all posts but didn’t remember any of these questions? I look forward to the answers. Take care, be safe, eat well, enjoy the sunshine. You are one in a million. Sending Hugs & Kisses From Alabama With Love, Amanda G.

Hey our wonderful Zenyatta. Basketball is big here in NC. Personally would prefer they allow paramutal betting so we could have a racetrack. Then I could go back to working with baby Tb’s. Hey Z, since breeding season will be over around the begining of July will Lane’s End allow us to come see you? I need to know which peppermints you prefer too. Give Dottie a High Hoof for me ok…that might make a neat shirt….we all love you. Secsea Dance, Salawgi, Simon and Picasso

Wasn’t able to get on the PC yesterday to check the blog. But did today. The picture of John is TO SWEET, checking your legs how great. My thanks to Eveline bor her link to the blog about Acierto, the dancing stallion, I loved it when he did “The Zenyatta” it is a great link and he is a super athelete. I learned to ride very young when it came time for formal training my Dad said Dressage and so it was it was great dicipline for me. It is great for horses because Seattle Slew whould never have become what he did without it.
Thanks to Ensign for the great links he gives to us they are appreciated.
And again to Dottie we can never thank you enough for all you do with these posts. You have opened up a new world and I am learning so much Thank you.
I’m also anxious for the “Z” pins but I know they are coming you dear Dottie are one very special lady. Sweet Lady Z have a wonderful day and let us know about Life Is Sweet. Hugs

Beautiful Z – wondered if you know where another beautiful girl – Always a Princess will be sent? Any chance she will eventually be sent to Lane’s End? Do you know how she is doing? I wish every race horse was as lucky as you, and would end their careers injury free and sent to the blue grass state to relax and enjoy their well-earned retirements. We are all sending Always a Princess all of our love and good wishes!

ZENNY, I loved the photos and the article. You look so BEAUTIFUL. I can see your DAPPLES. LOVE YA Z… LORI XOXO…

@kealy – Don’t know how you got that post (from cloudeatlas) was criticizing just for simply point out the misspelling. :/ Dottie is smart enough to know this–here’s the post for those that missed it (“Has anyone pointed out that “dairy” is spelled wrong? Should be diary”). I too have never noticed, but who cares if someone else did. I think it’s quite funny. It shows how wrapped up we all are with the post.
Secondly, I (we) know that much information can be attained via a google search, but many on here prefer to ask the questions on this blog by some of the experienced horse folks who often times personalizes the information and on occasion ‘breaks it down for us neophytes.’ Plus many of those that share information on here we’ve grown fond of and have come to appreciate. :) That’s all.
.
Now, to Z post. Beautiful picture. Thank you again!

Hi Zenny:
My favorite picture is your “snowy whiskers!” However all the pictures of you are great and capture your regal essence. My team is Ohio State but I still marvel at the skill of all the college’s players. My very favorite sport is college football though.
Hope you had a great visit with Ann.
Hugs & nose kisses.

Hi Zenny- I know you are a sports fan and a horse – I hear most people call the March Madness a Bracket instead of a GRID. Anyway – I hope John, Charles or Dottie will help keep your GRID/BRACKET up to date and that you are able to follow along. I’m thinking that you should have a few TV’s in your stall so that you can watch all the NCAA games and also follow the different Race Tracks around the country- Hope you are having a wonderful day. Love and Hugs Sweet Z
Katie Clawson
Zenny, you always photograph so well! It doesn’t matter what you are doing at the time the picture was taken, you always look stunning!! You are BEAUTIFUL, never forget that. About March Madness. I, too, am a big sports fan. Horse racing, Football-Go Colts-, Baseball-Go D-Backs-, NBA Basketball-Go Suns-, NCAA(I have many teams that I like), I like them all. I am especially happy that it is BASEBALL SEASON!! Baseball to me means that Spring/Summer is coming!!
Good luck to LIFE IS SWEET and her foal! I hope all goes well.
You’re Facebook page just keeps growing and growing!! I love it!
How are you liking being pregnant?? :) Keep eating those BANANAS! Have fun with your girlfriends in the pasture! I can’t wait to hear about when we will be able to see you!
Love, Katie(future jockey)

Beautiful Zenyatta, The photos of John with your Bronze from yesterday are priceless and he looks so happy just thinking about you. And Dottie, another talent discovered for taking such nice pics, thank you so much, how could we ever thank you enough for the thoughtful care you give to us. Also, congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Moss for the awards they received last weekend-couldn’t go to more deserving people. I have never seen your coat look so pretty as in todays photo, do you use a special conditioner or is this mother nature smiling on you again. I want to thank so many of you fans for posting links to all things Zenyatta that all of us may enjoy. This site really is becoming like one big family and aren’t we lucky to be sharing the love that started all because of The Queen.
Steph
I hope you and you baby are doing well, and I hope the best of wishes
