Good Morning Everyone,
I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend. We did at Lane’s End….and my BARN 55 Friends had a great time at Santa Anita on Saturday with CLOUD MAN winning! This was his first start ever and he really ran a wonderful race coming from far back…”out of the clouds”. A HIGH HOOF to him for sure! Then the TOC (Thoroughbred Owners of California) presented MY OWNERS with several fabulous honors and awards. Everyone is so kind!
This morning, I wanted to share with you my BRONZE done by Nina Kaiser. She is doing 100 of them this size. I explained the process to you in an earlier DIARY entry. She is now completing the project! Here’s JOHN with the one he and Dottie will have. It is Artist Proof #2! I really think she did an amazing job! It really looks just like ME…DANCING! Yeah, NINA!
And look at my John! He is teasing me that he just can’t resist ‘checking my legs’. He has done this for so many years each morning that it is really a ‘part of his daily routine’. He is laughing that now he can still ‘check them out’! My trainer is TOO CUTE!
At Lane’s End, I am hearing that lots of babies are being born. It is that time of the year. I’m going to ask about my friend, LIFE IS SWEET! From what I’ve been told, she is due around this time. I’ll get an update for you.
Enjoy your day!
With Love,
Hugs to ALL~

Loving all your updates Precious Zenny! Thanks so much for sharing the pics of your John and the bronze of you. Is there anyway you can update us on how your paddock girlfriends are doing? Have they been covered yet? Just figured that they are part of our big extended family and news of their mating would be nice to know. I know that I would love to cheer them on too. Love YOU! oooxxx

Hi Zenyatta. I am so happy and fortunate. My husband ordered me your bronze statute for my Valentine’s Day/Anniversary present from Ms. Kaiser. Wow, it is gorgeous!!! We can’t wait to get it. Love you so. Yes, please find out about Life is Sweet, would love to know if she has had her baby. Keep those wonderful pictures coming – we love them and look forward to them each day. Keep on being your beautiful self, stay healthy, eat enough for two or three, have fun with your BBFs, stay your gorgeous, sweet self, you Angel in Disguise.

@Laura J. This is a fantastic link with super pictures. I love Z’s whiskers. They are so expressive and so Z. Thanks for this great contribution to our collection of Z photos. They make me smile.

Zenyatta, that is a beautiful sculpture of you. I would jump at the chance to get one for myself. Congratulations on your owners receiving awards and honors and on Cloud Man winning the race this past weekend. They have to check your legs to make sure you’re doing all right. I would have loved to have been at Lane’s End Farm this past weekend and spent it with you. I would jump at the chance to go there anytime at all, especially with all the foals being born. I would definitely love to be there when your foal is born. You might have to drag me out of there kicking and screaming. I wouldn’t mind owning one or more of them, but, unfortunately, finances don’t permit that. Today’s foals will be big horses before you know it and that will happen to your foal or foals as well. Enjoy it while you can while they’re little. It happens that way with human babies as well. They grow up before you know it and you don’t know where all the time has gone. Just ask anyone. I am so relieved that this diary is continuing. I was a little worried that it would end at 100 entries.

Kathryn C and Laura J,
Many smiling thanks for the links to even more happy news about our precious Zenyatta. How lovely to know that we are earning a reputation for being such a civil group.
Robbie PK, I wonder how long the political ones would last here. We don’t put up with much negativity or nonsense, do we?!? (grin)

@ LauraJ– great pics!!! I love the one with the frozen wiskers. How funny.
@ Eveline– I have to say–I am SPEECHLESS!! What an amazing horse— How long did it take to train him? That performance should be on “Dancing w/the Stars”
Also, Jan– about 12 comments earlier was asking about pregnancy — Im wondering if anyone out there can answer it and I will add a QUESTION – are mares would don’t have foals allowed to be out with new moms and their babies? Anyone, available to answer–@Ensign, @L –thanks Janet C

@Janet Cutting,
At a big commercial nursery like LEF, no. They wouldn’t risk an incautious hoof hitting one of those 100K babies.

Hi my dancing Z; I love this photo, cute; I am so happy you share with us some of your happiness & fun with your Z team. Contemplating, you can tell your Z team cherishes you; everything about you, kind of like Mrs. Chenery and Secretariat. But, he never danced like you Z! It is awesome that you are thought of in his company; rightfully so. I just fell in love with you Z. I wish I could afford the bronze; perhaps an artist will make a pretty ceramic of the likeness of you dancing and I’ll be able to afford it. Hugs to all.
Love and 2 kisses on your soft nose

@Janet… most barren mares are pastured together, and not just at huge commercial breeding farms, but in most places where folks have horse sense.
Eveline
@ Janet Cutting – That wasn’t me (I wish) just an example of one of the many fun ways to interact with your horse. Sure glad you liked it.

We LOVED the new Bloodhorse blog and pictues of the Queen. She really is the gift that just keeps on giving. And the blog about this site and the friendships it has nurtured is just another amazing saga of Zenny and her team.

Bronzes are nice as bronzes go, but my opinion (like MJ’s face in this video) just has to be:

For Zenyatta fans who long for Zenyatta art, I’ve found a big art poster with a stunningly gorgeous ‘dancing’ horse that reminds me of our Queen in both stature and spirit. Go to art.com.
Under ‘subjects’, click ‘animals’, then click on ‘horses’. The print titled, interestingly enough, “Lepa Zena”, which means ‘beautiful woman’ in Serbian, is on the right, top row. Two sizes for the print. Small is $9.99, large is $69.99.
I have the large one framed and hung
‘big and bold’ in my entry way and it’s sort of like living with Zenyatta. Let me know what you think!

Dear Queen-Z & Team-Z,
Thanks for sharing pictures of John and that beautiful bronze of you…the “Horse of a Lifetime”. Nina sculpted a masterpiece!!!
To ENSIGN-thanks for sharing Nina Kaiser’s web-site…it’s breath-taking!
To the owners of Santa Anita-I think you should have Nina do a bronze of John Shear, your HEROIC paddock guard and place it in the paddock garden. I would love to see him honored in such a way, and would contribute to such a project. Surely, many fellow race fans would be happy to contribute, also.
Zenny, stay well and happy as “Zenbryo” grows into a beautiful “Foal-yatta”. Fondly, OraJean

Love the updates. Thanks for sharing.
Tell Dottie your Race Card is incorrect for the Breeder’s Cup Classic at Santa Anita. We want you to get credit for beating those boys.
Karen
Beautiful Zenyatta, how special it would be to have a bronze of you. You are such a gorgeous girl. You are the Dancing Queen! I love you Beautiful Girl.

AEveline Thanks for the amazing video of Fred Ahorse & Ginger Riders. I’ve read that Leonardo da Vinci thought that the horse was the most glorious of creatures. And he was a pretty smart fellow so I hear.
