Dear Judy,
I missed the races this morning due to helping a friend get her elderly little Japanese Chin to her vet — he is having some skin issues and she can’t drive right now (recovering from a broken hip); however, I did get home in time to see the big race. I was pulling for Midnight Bourbon and Hot Rod Charlie.
I am so proud of Charlie for a very impressive 2nd❣️ He almost made it! I think Midnight Bourbon’s duel with Life is Good wore them both down. He did hang on for 5th. I agree with Doug O’Neill that they have nothing to be ashamed of. Charlie made a valiant run, but it was Country Grammer’s day.

WOW! Did anyone get to see the Dead Heat in the Dubai Turf? Although my computer decided it didn’t really want to play anymore, I did get to see the very end .
I did eventually get to see Charlie’s run, If he could have gotten just a bit more it would have almost been like a Zenyatta run. Sure hope Charlie, Life Is Good and Midnight Bourbon come back hearty and healthy. Also, another super run by Echo Zulu.
I almost forgot BEST WISHES and BEST OF LUCK NOT ONLY TO ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE IN OR AROUND UKRAINE. Also their pets. There was even a story on the news about all the pets people were carrying with them as they tried to escape.

It would be fun to see another filly in the Derby and Uncle Wayne knows how to do it. Would be a wonderful thing for him to win again at his age. Makes all of us feel young. hope my saying her name will not cause her to fall victim to The Shirlee Curse!
