Exciting weekend with the Dubai World Cup (GO Mystic Guide!!!), and the Florida Derby. Like Shirlee, I am definitely on Greatest Honour. He doesn’t HAVE to win this one, but we’re sure hoping that he puts in a good performance, and Shug seems quite optimistic.
Today is my (hopefully) “all clear” as it’s two weeks after my second COVID vaccine. Hope everyone is safe and well and getting their shots in a timely manner. It is very sad to hear stories about people who are not able to make appointments because they can’t read well enough and/or handle the technology. Hopefully there are plans in place to take care of this.

Thanks for our Friday dose of Hovis. He never ceases to bring smiles. The mind picture of an overweight elephant on a unicycle is quite a sight. Poor Mother.
Safe trip and good racing luck to your girl Heiress! Safe trip to all the horses and jockeys.
We here in Indiana have been very lucky as the vaccination program has been wonderful and we are opening up to 16 and over next week. Governor is removing the mask mandate on 4/6 but we here in Indy and Marion Co. are staying masks mandatory. I have no problem with that.
Tis the season for Hopes and Wishes. Early very best wishes for Zenny and Ziconic on their April 1 birthdays. Hope they’re happy. My very best wishes also go to Hotrod Charlie. May the racing gods be kind in his May 4 run in the Kentucky Derby. Here’s hoping he runs safely and well. Finally, between those times I have 3 other things I hope turn out well. First, if reports are accurate, I might actually get my Covid shot. The weather will have improved enough to start the gardens Tommy and I planned during lockdown and bad winter weather and finally we just got a hint of a place where we might be able to get the dogs we’ve been looking for. Best wishes to all Zsters. I hope all of them come true for you.

Such a loss. I read about it and could not watch the replay. I did see on a picture that was posted at the wire from a head on prospective. I enlarged it and you could see that front leg breaking. Another observer said he just ran his heart out and looked exhausted crossing the wire as well.
Happy for Mystic Guide. his mama Music Note gave birth to a half brother by Medaglia d ‘Oro today.
Just so sad. I couldn’t bear to watch the replay. Worst nightmare of racing. Brought back tragedy of Barbaro, Ruffian, Eight Belles, Mongolian Groom???

There is a picture from Lane’s End showing Zenyatta with another mare reclining in a field, taking in the sunshine. Heartwarming to know that although she has no foal by her side she does have a pasture partner! I had hoped that she would be enjoying her time with some lady friends after her tragic loss. Lindal
