In case you haven’t seen or heard, QB1 apparently had a bit of trouble and came in 6th of 7. Better luck next time. Also, Hot Rod Charlie, one of my faves could only manage a 2nd. However, he was beaten by none other than Express Train who is trained by none other than our dear John Sherriffs. YAY!
Still a bit early to know about the Gun Runner Stakes. Hope he and Mind Your Biscuits are both watching. Hope everybody had a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS. Let’s all start looking ahead to a shiny New Year where all your faves stay well and run and win big time. Lookiing forward to this years Foal Patrol.

Wow, shame he didn’t get to race as a two year old and try for the Derby and TC races in 2021. He will be four years old in January. He’s three for three. Beautiful son of Tapit out of Feathered (Indian Charlie). He’s racked up speed figures of 127, 130
and 116 according to his Equibase chart. Lightening fast speed. Safe and sound always beautiful boy. Love and Hugs, JB

I do love that sweet old song so much, and I didn’t hear it at midnight last night for the first time in my life. I was watching TCM last night — they were showing all The Thin Man movies with the incomparable Myrna Loy, William Powell and Asta! I did cut to
one of our local channels at midnight to see the Acorn Drop, but
there was no music that I could hear. Then I returned to the Thin Man movies.
I cannot remember a time when I didn’t hear Auld Lang Syne —
personally, I miss Guy Lombardo, his brother who took over after
Guy died, and the Royal Canadians. I am showing my age! I was actually in Times Square with some friends to watch the ball drop back in the ’70’s — did that twice, but the first time was best.

High winds caused a wildfire that burned 991 homes in Louisville and Superior, in Colorado. Entire subdivisions burned to the ground. There were three people reported missing,one has been accounted for. We have been in the midst of drought, so everything burned quickly. Nature is trying to tell us something, I hope we are listening.
Just got a cancer diagnosis, and surgery will be schedule soon. Wish me luck.
On a more positive note, there are two possible races for Tap the Gavel. Hopefully he can break his maiden.
Did anyone read about the 38 year old thoroughbred who is still going strong? Amazing.

2021 dealt us one last blow on NYE — we lost a bright sparkling light, a
very talented comedienne/actress, lover of animals and a lovely all-round good egg, Betty White. The world is a much sadder place now; at least, I know I am sad. What a national (and international) treasure!
We are in mourning, but we are so lucky to have had her for almost 100 years! She is reunited with her beloved Allen, and I believe she is also
with all her animals who predeceased her.
Rest in Peace, Betty White, and thank you for brightening our lives. ❤️
