Well, here I am – very late to everything! First of all, belated Happy Birthday to Charlie and Hudson. I know they enjoyed your goodies, Judy, and I hope you had a nice visit. I join you who wondered where the time went – especially the part about still feeling like your same self inside, but . . . . .
Agree with what everyone said about Triple Tap! Wow! Don’t know if he can make it to the Derby, but he sure will be one to watch.
The article about “our John” was just the best. If you’ve ever met him, you can just HEAR him saying those things about the horses. Can’t wait for the second installment and thanks to those who forwarded it in several realms. Wasn’t too surprised to hear about Hard Not to Love being retired after watching her last race. She was originally slated for last November’s Keeneland sale and then withdrawn. Hope her proposed mating with Curlin goes well, and she is purchased by a great new owner.
Finally – I don’t know where yesterday went (well, part of it was spent in the dentist’s office, but I didn’t think that would throw me off for the entire day). Anyhoo, here is Hovis who continues to have grooming issues. You’ll see :-)
Good luck and safe trips to all of the horses running this weekend. I am very hopeful that Proxy, who is trained by my friend Michael Stidham), can pull off a win in the LA Derby and move on to the first Saturday in May.

Just read on Equibase results chart that Proxy was bumped on both sides at the start. Just didn’t seem to fire after that. Hope he and all of them came back OK. Love and Hugs, JB
Yes, it was dreadful. I feel so bad for him and his connections. At least he got 10 more points which will probably be enough to get him in the Derby if they decide to go ahead with it. Hope they are all OK too.

Today, is Lava Man’s 20th Birthday! He received many gifts and cards from his followers! Santa Anita has a nice sign made just for his occasion. The barn staff sang to him while he ate out of a Mrs. Pastures cookies jar! He looks great for 20! His story is one that should be replicated , whenever possible.

So sad about Unbridled Forever. Also saw on Bloodhorse.com that Larry Melancon died. He rode quite a bit at Churchill.
