It’s forecast to be a sunny, rain-free day… Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for everyone concerned that the next seven weeks are mostly (if not all!) dry with tolerable (below 90) temps. This is so terrible. As we all know, Racing is the only sport that has an ambulance following along behind. All the jockeys are brave and must love what they do. Hope his wife and children are well taken care of.
OMG We heard Crooked River was going to have their rodeo this year after canceling because of Covid last year. We’re quite a ways from there and with the fires not that far away we decided to stay home. RIP and please Mr. Sosa, and say Hi to Sheena and give all the beautiful horses you meet a pat from all of us Zster’s.
Also tell everyone we love them and miss them.

RIP Strong Moment, gone much too soon. ?
This 3 year old daughter of Wicked Strong suffered a catastrophic injury to her left front leg today in Race 10 at Saratoga and was euthanized on the track. Her jockey, Luis Cardenas, was carried by ambulance to the hospital — he was conscious. Don’t know the extent of his injuries. Very sad ending to Friday’s racing. Condolences to Strong Moment’s connections and prayers for healing to Luis Cardenas.

Congratulations to Rinaldi, Luis Saez, trainer H. James Bond and Bond Racing Stable on winning The Forbidden Apple at Saratoga Friday. He is certainly a fast boy! 5 year old gelded son of Posse out of a Dynaformer mare did a wonderful job, as did Luis Saez.

I have been here but no one else has! I alerted Kyle on the 18th and he said it was OK to proceed. There were no posts so I am glad to see your post. I am so elated that USA’s Dressage Team won the silver! Well done. It was a 73 year dry spell. When I rode I rode Dressage and it is demanding and very difficult for both rider and horse. I am so very proud!

Kyle, I believe is a man and he does indeed run the Forum. Would any of you know how to rectify the situation we had on the blog last week? I was quite frantic myself, because it said the site had been hijacked! I asked my brother, who is a computer savvy person but zip. Would you like to know how I succeeded?
I am so glad to be back. I wasn’t sure what happened, I simply couldn’t find or get on the site. The BIG fire 410,000+ acres is now 53 % contained. The fire closest to us is 95% contained and all the other smaller fires seem to be winding down and yesterday it actually rained a bit YAY! Here’s hoping all of you are tucked in and cozy. Thanks so much for the Claiborne video. I visited many times in past years to see Secretariat and Easy Goer. It is Eden on earth in Central Kentucky. If you can, I advise everyone to visit Hill & Dale and Xalapa. Beautiful farm. As I told you all before I wrote the insurance on Xalapa for several years for the former owners. Visited many times.
I may be a bit early, but I seem to remember that some of the other Zsters are Whitmore fans and I wanted to let folks know that he’ll be running in Race 8 at 5:30 Eastern Time at Saratoga in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. He’ll be running without lascix this time so I’m imploring the racing gods to send him tons of good luck. Oops, I forgot to mention the race is this Saturday. My second choice is Firenze Fire who is also running.

He was loved and well cared for and never feared mistreatment. He is racing in Heaven now with all the others we have lost in the last few weeks. Praying to God for a cure for this dreaded laminitis. It has taken too many.
