Not only does Sergio de Sousa keep Cozmic One happy and healthy at his farm, he goes out of his way to share updates with us. Here’s a glimpse into Coz’s birthday morning at De Sousa Stables.
Don’t know anyone is interested: Chess’s Dream, grandson of Rachel and Curlin is running tonight in the Mystic Lake Derby at Canterbury Downs for a purse of $$150,000. Safe trip to him.
Dear Shirlee, Judy and Ann,
Best of luck to Chess’s Dream in the Mystic Lake Derby at Canterbury Downs tonight! Safe and sound racing, too.

Thanks Shirley, for reminding me about the racing tonight! I had totally forgotten that racing was on FS-2 from 6-10:30PM.
Hugs and Love
Rachel’s Valentina has a three year old colt, Alejandro, just finished second in a MSW at Churchill on 5/23/21. She also has a two year old filly, Ambassador Kelly, who hasn’t raced yet. She’s had six timed works; most recent 6/23/21.
Alejandro is a Curlin and Ambassador Kelly is a Pioneer of the Nile.
Great to see RA’s legacy continuing. Love and Hugs, JB
Keep looking for the name of the two year old filly by Arrogate out of Songbird. Nothin yet. She has an Equibase Chart, but no name yet and no works listed. Love and Hugs, JB
Well, I guess Chess’s Dream can’t run like either of his grandparents. Did not see the race but know he did not do well. Hope better for Little Rachel’s filly and colt.
Great racing this weekend at Churchill.
Judy, that filly by Arrogate out of Songbird could be a real star.
Belmont R1 tomorrow has Arrogate Lady in MSW. His first to hit the track.
JB, let us know if you find the name. She will be fun to watch.
Arrogate…..sad…..
Shirlee, Chess’s Dream finished 5th of 11. An American Pharoah boy, King of Miami, won and paid $32.00. Arrogate/Songbird girl; true Royalty.

Dear Judy,
Thanks so much for these video links! Delightful Quality is, well just delightful! Can’t wait to see her next Tapit foal.
Monomoy Girl is so gorgeous — glad her rehab is going smoothly. Loved seeing her in the aquatic therapy set-up. Wow, what a shiny coat she has; it looks like satin!
I love the interview with Mrs. Jane Lyon and hearing about Littleprincessemma. It really does sound like a fairytale — “Emma” couldn’t have landed in a better place. It is clear that the Lyons loved her and that Jane Lyon sincerely enjoys and adores her horses, especially Littleprincessemma who’s such a lovely girl and has that wonderfully sweet temperament. That’s where American Pharoah got his sweet disposition!
Hugs and Love
Happy Friday everyone ?. Hope my electronic luck will continue with the link to Hovey’s diary this week. He’s been trying his Mum’s patience (just for something new?), but it’s his lady love who’s upset.
Tomorrow is the Ohio Derby, and I hope to go despite a very discouraging weather forecast (which always seems to happen). Looking forward to seeing Proxy who was on the Dervy trail for quite a while and is trained by my friend, Mike Stidham. Will be interesting to see if the track sections of Thistledown has improved any in the past two years but not holding my breath. Only the casino section seems to get any facelifts.
Dear Sandy,
Thanks so much for our weekly visit with Hovis who should be given a comedy show to host (à la Johnny Carson style?)! He would excel at the monologue to be sure. LOL!
Hope the weather cooperates Saturday and that you have a great time at the Ohio Derby!
