Not only does Sergio de Sousa keep Cozmic One happy and healthy at his farm, he goes out of his way to share updates with us. Here’s a glimpse into Coz’s birthday morning at De Sousa Stables.
Marshall Feather must have been getting some vibes from you. She too seemed to be rooting for the Westie. She also seemed more interested in the agility championship that was won by Verb the Border Collie. I was sad to hear that CJ the dad of the pointer had passed and was rooting for his son.As you said Better Luck next year. Cross your fingers. Perhaps this will be the one we hear something about Zenny, Ziconic. Zellda or Zilkha. We’re expecting rain and thunderstorms here so need to batten down the hatches. May your weather be a bit more friendly and you have a sparkling day.
Dear Martha,
I remember CJ winning (2016) and was sad to hear that he had died. I really was pulling for his son, too. I also remember CJ’s grandmother, Carlee — she was absolutely beautiful and gave a perfect stack! She won in 2005.
Verb, the border collie, was so amazing in the agility!
Hugs and Love
Dear Ann,
Thanks for posting the Pegasus Stakes. Wow, what a finish by Mandaloun and Weyburn!
Congrats to Mandaloun, Florent Geroux, Brad Cox and all connections!!
Cheers❣️
They are all alive and well. I saw short videos of Queen Z yesterday on FB and she is very pregnant! Zellda is at SA in John’s barn. Zilkha is probably off in school in Florida. This is about all I have surmised hunting through FB. There is one gal, that is a friend of the owners of Lane’s End and she has access to Queen Z and Zellda and she posts her visits.
Just have to share this adorable video with you. Somebody has a great sense of fun and wit to put words to it. This Mama will be Gray before her time. Love and Hugs, JB
Thanks for the hilarious video — I am still laughing! Those quads are running Mum ragged. She will have to eat MUCH more than usual prior

Hi all,
I am also wondering why we are not getting information not only on Zenyatta, but her babies. I know Lane’s End cannot give us information on the babies once they leave the farm, and cannot release in formation about Zenyatt without the Moss’ permission, but i sure wish we could get updates as we have for so many years. Dear Zenyatta is not a passing fad, we will love and admire her forever and we all love to hear how she is doing and see the occasional photo.
I also watched Westminister, both nights. I was there once with my vizsla, Bo. We traveled from California but did not win at the show. But had a wonderful time making memories with my sister who passed the following year. I know Pat Trotter and have shown my dogs to her with an occasional win. She knows dogs and judges them according to the standard. That might have been an outstanding Peke, but in my humble opinion did not measure up to the shorthair or whippet! I will pick the best puppy from Pepper’s current litter (they are 8 weeks on Thursday, go to new homes on Saturday) and keep her, train her well, and maybe be at Westminster again. I will name her Kiralyi Eleanor Rose in honor of my mom.
Dear Lynn,
Congrats to Pepper and you on the current litter! I know they are just the
cutest ever!. Hope you do get to take Kiralyi Eleanor Rose to Westminster —
what an exciting experience that will be!
Thanks for sharing. ?

Been out of town for awhile. Went to Churchill on Friday. Took 16 year old niece. She had never been to the track. Won the very first race and hit in almost all the races. Talk about beginners luck. Of course, I did okay. Hit big on a Kitten’s Joy boy in one race. There was a fire at the track and we had to go outside for some time. Fire in the kitchen in Millionairs Row! Had a wonderful time, but it was terribly hot. Glad we had a table in Roses Lounge.
Enjoying watching Royal Ascot. Seems when they pick a favorite, that horse does not win. Weird when there are two groups of horses, hard to tell who is in the lead. Love was great in her race.
Yes Barbara,
Love ran a great race and was so determined — Congrats to her and all connections! Audarya fought hard, but she had to settle for second, and Armory (very handsome bay colt) did well to finish a game third.
Enjoyed watching today and look forward to the rest of the races at Ascot!
Hugs and Cheers
Congratulations to Laura Pearson who won her first Ascot race aboard
Lola Showgirl in the inaugural Kensington Palace Stakes today! Laura did
a great job with Lola Showgirl who is a beautiful grey. She went off at 12-1.
Congrats to all connections, too!
Congratulations to our friend, Frankie Dettori and Indie Angel on winning
the Duke of Cambridge Stakes today. Indie Angel is a lovely roan trained by
John & Thady Gosden — she went off at 22-1! Congrats all around!
Cheers!!
Judy, I also support this slaughter ban. Barbaric. The BLM has this alleged adoption program where they pay people $1000 to adopt a wild horse. Guess where they end up after a year?
In SoCal one can purchase a horse from BLM for $500.00. I know of people who have done this but it takes a lot of work, patience and time. (These horses are offered once a year and come from Nevada)
Another wild horse operation, that I know of is the one on Drummond Ranch.
Chef and entrepreneur, Ree Drummond (Pioneer Woman), and her husband have a huge cattle ranch. He has an agreement with the government to provide food and land for 1,500 wild horses.
There are places where it works. You cannot always paint things with a broad stroke.
It’s true, some people that adopt Wild Ones give them loving homes and tender care. One such Mustang lived a few streets from me when I lived in a more rural area in RI than I do now. Would look for him out in his paddock when I drove by.
Unfortunately, there are people who have adopted them under false pretenses. Such is the nature of some individuals. Love and Hugs, JB
Racing Fans and Zsters,
Stradivarius did not win at Ascot today, and I am bummed. He looked his usual gorgeous self, but Frankie and he got boxed in farther back than they should have been. When he finally got through, it was too late to catch the leaders so had to settle for 4th. Congrats to Subjectivist and connections.
I was hoping he would win a 4th Gold Cup and tie with Yeats, but it was not to be.
Stradivarius is still magnificent however❣️

Dear Ann and Judy,
Stradivarius will always be a hero❣️

Wonderful to see Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth today at Royal Ascot!
Sorry that none of her horses won; although, I think two of them finished
second in their races. As usual, the Queen looked lovely (in mint green).

Congrats to all the winners at Royal Ascot! Enjoyed the week very much.
