By Claire Novak The Blood-Horse March 28 2015

Saw her sire Azamour back in 2008 in Ireland and he was / is a beautiful horse. Thrilled that Dolniya came out the winner in here – hoping Main Sequence came out of it okay. Flintshire ran a strong race, too. No one was beating Dolniya today.
Main Seqence left England because he could not compete against top UK and Euro horses. He did well on the turf last year in the US, but once again against some of the best turf horses in the world he is back to not winning. And Ballydoyle who consistently fields the premier turf horses did not send any racers to Dubai.
Congratulations to Prince Bishop and our William Buick for winning the Dubai World cup.CC and Lea were great to be 2nd and 3rd!Sorry Peggy about your boy African Story.Hugs Sheena.

So proud of Lea and California Chrome. Neither won but certainly did not embarrass us. The USA horses did very well. Will always love Lea whether he is first or dead last. Hope all of them get back home safely.
Looked as if Chromie and Lea had some trouble. Chromie was very wide at times, and Lea was stuck behind horses and no hole opened up. Guess they both won enough to buy some hay and mints and pay for their plane ride home.
I worry about Lea possibly being sold since the farm stands his sire, First Samuari, who is still a pretty young horse. But think it is a different ownership.
Max
First Samurai appears to be owned by a third party. Lea is a Claiborne home bred with Dilschneider. He’ll probably keep racing because he’s getting good results. That win today will bring in a fair amount. Winner usually gets 60%, with the rest divided proportionally down. With a pot of 10 million, Lea won’t go hungry or have to worry about the cost of new shoes. Come home chestnut boy.

Dear Shirlee, Max and Z Fans:

Glad to see Steve Coburn and Art being gracious (for the most part). Haven’t been able to find yet how much they will win for the second place finish. Chromie just never seemed to kick into that extra gear, but all that matters now is getting everyone back safely. Congrats to Prince Bishop and his connections.
I am very proud of them, CC and Lea, for all their efforts over there out of the U.S.
I would have been estatic if CC would have finished in first!!

So dissappointed. Haven’t been able to find out why Sky Hunter missed the Sheema Classic. Just read that Godolphin was dealt with the loss of both Hunter’s Light and Sky Hunter. This must have just happened in the last few days with Sky Hunter. Hope he is OK. He “was” on the card middle of last week. His trainer is Saed bin Suroor too.
Hi!
Yes what an upset!!!!! Too bad!! I think maybe Victor waited too long to advance California Chrome. Chrome came in 2nd and that’s good. But I think he should have won that race.
I’ll tell you something, I watched the Dubai World Cup races starting with race #2 on TVG. WOW and I mean WOW, the televised coverage of those races was phenomenal. The filming/broadcast was all close up and personal. The picture was crystal clear. The overhead shots were fantastic. They even had a camera on an inside track that showed the jockeys all the way around the track — real close up. It was so close up you could see their expressions. The camera zoomed so close, I felt like I was riding the horses. You could even see the speed of the horses. The coverage was just so impressive. It was all UK announcers and interviewers covered by TVG up to race 8. Then with the 8th race, the TVG announcers took over and the coverage onwards was terrible in my opinion.
Even Fox Sports 1 showed more of their announcers in the studio talking than they did of the horses, jockeys, and trainers in Dubai. Rather than to show us the horses in the paddock or going out to the track as the suspense is building, what does Fox Sports 1 do, they show us a segment on California Chrome and his previous major wins. What made them think California Chrome needs an introduction at this point? Really?
Anyways, I really enjoyed the entire Dubai World Cup program. But like the rest of the Chromies, I am just very disappointed that California Chrome didn’t win. However, make no mistake; I am happy he had a safe trip.
Loved the World Cup Racing….congrats to all the winners and other like CC that put in a great race. Chrome ran like the Champion he is…Prince Bishop just happened to run the race of his life today. So many great races hard to pick a favorite
I agree with quarterhossgal. So very proud of all the USA horses. CC, Lea, Candy Boy, Secret Circle and all the others. Main Sequence, My Johnny Be Good; another day. USA’s Arabian, Valiant Boy, MD bred, and Joel Rosario ran a very good 2nd in a field of 15 in the Kahayla Classic. Congrats to Brown Panther, Sole Power, Mubtaahij and all the winners.
To all of my friends here on the blog who enjoyed the latest edition of the RN jokes a big thank you. I do this stuff for you. MY favorite of all time, as I have expressed on several occasions, is you might be a redneck if you use a toilet seat as a picture frame. Another joke which I have posted before is in the Indian category. The chief called the tribe together for a meeting. I have some good news and some bad news. Which would you like to hear first?” “the bad news,” yelled the tribe “braves have had bad winter hunting. We have nothing to eat but buffalo dung.” “What is the good news?” asked the tribe. “We have plenty of buffalo dung.” the chief replied. Thought that California Chrome’s effort in Dubai was a fine one. I am, however, getting concerned that the losses are piling up.
Agree, sometimes I feel that I’d just like to read about the Queen and family. Love to see Coz this time. Thanks to the connections once again for sharing.
Why? Most of us are horse racing fans here, and we’re interested in all horses, not just Zenyatta and Co. Anyway, if we could only talk about Z and her offspring, the conversation would get dull quickly. I mean, how many times can you express your love for Zenyatta without repeating yourself? How many posts do we need commenting on the boys’ beauty?
There is no harm done by people posting about the Dubai World Cup day races, especially since these are some of the richest and most important races in the world.
If you don’t want to read posts on particular subjects, skip them. You are not required to read every post.
Z herself in her diary was always interested in other horses and their races. She is an athlete. She also likes basketball and football. Never forget the photo of her and her cheese hat.

Dear Laura J, Max, Ann and Z Fans:
Here’s Diary #178 with the photo of Z wearing her Cheese Head Hat. Dottie and Z always celebrated major sporting events and big race weekends, TC, BC etc. in the Diary. Love and Hugs, JB
Zenyatta with her diary and her website is trying to develop and keep people interested in horse racing. Of course, she and her family including all of the Moss horses are our first concern, but there is room enough to love all horses. They are gifts from God, and each one must always be treasured.
We have very little coverage in this part of the country of horse racing. If it weren’t for all the kind Zsters posting who won races and showing the races I would never know who won or who might be a leading contender for the triple crown races or Breeders Cup races or the individual big races. I for one appreciate their posts.
She will be going back to War Front, the sire of her late 2014 filly. Indeed, she may already have been bred to him. They’ll make an announcement once the pregnancy is well established.

Indeed, a good win for AA, but there was talk of some bumping of my Upstart. I’m supporting Upstart for the KD. He’s a friend of The Beast. Cannot go against Beastie. Sue Fredrick Happy as a lark
Max,
I too like Upstart and I love Flatter, his sire, haven’t seen this race but I heard there was some bumping. I’ll have to watch.
Max,
With my love of Claiborne, I like Upstart too since he is by Flatter. I am really uncertain about the Derby since there are several I like. Think the “dratted” Johnny V might have a tough decision to make come the first Saturday in May.
